  1. My date is coming up as well and its really just starting to hit me. Its entirely normal to be feeling the way you do as its HUGE change and something we will need to live with for the rest of our lives. I am sure this was not a decision that you came to lightly and that you have researched researched and researched. I keep thinking about the things i will be able to do that i haven't been able to do or things i cant wait to wear. Its hard work but we can do this!! Good luck!
  2. yay! Congrats...i am having my surgery the day after. Its crazing thinking i have to start my two week liquid diet next week and im 3 weeks away!!
  3. Yes. I had a surgery date given to me 2nd week in july and they just submitted to insurance on my last appt on 8/9.
  4. I cant speak to Mt. Auburn's program (although i do live about 10 min from there) as im going through the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Their program is awesome but with my insurance i had to do a 6 month program so its been a long journey. I started back in January and i have a date of 9/5!! Good luck with everything
  5. I started back in January too but it took me 7 months to go through the process. Congrats on being approved!
  6. I have been officially cleared for surgery, ive completed all my testings, gone to the classes, did my pre-op class and have my protein shakes ready to go. The place i am going to is having me use HMR 800 and i needed to buy two weeks worth of mix so it was kind of expensive (probably less than i would have spent on food though). Pre-op two week liquid diet starts on 8/22...im excited but scared at the same time! 26 days till surgery..eeekks  . Now i just have to wait for insurance to go through but they say it shouldnt be a problem.
  7. I am scheduled for Sept 5th...just had all my preop today and I start my two week liquid diet on the 22nd..good luck. Also there is a forum for September sleevers
  8. I am in the same situation but i know for a fact they haven't submitted my paper work because they were waiting on my 6 month i can change program finish letter. I go on Thursday for all my preop testing and final stuff and they scheduled me for surgery already (date is Sept 5th). From what i have dealt with before Tufts responds fast so I am not worried. Good luck to you!
  9. Oh man i hope not! My lower back is practically a whole tattoo..
  10. i go to my eating class with the nutritionist this Thursday and they lay out what the pre op and post op diet will be like! Its becoming more real now that i am only a month away from surgery....
  11. Mines the 5th and i hear ya!
  12. Congrats on losing weight and sticking with it on the preop diet! Not to kill your momentum or anything but i feel that most of us can lose weight..its the keeping it off we have trouble with. Have you ever been able to lose the weight and then keep it off after? I dont know about you but i do good for 3 or 4 months...drop 30 to 40lbs...then get complacent and the next thing i know ive gained 35 to 45 lbs back with in the year. My main reason for doing this surgery is portion control (which im horrible about) and the fact that i cant keep the weight off. I feel the sleeve will force me to keep my portions down which in turn will help keep the weight off. Ultimately its your decision...good luck!!
  13. I hear you about losing the weight. I saw the surgeon on 7/2 and he wants me to lose another 10 lbs before surgery on 9/5. I haven't lost a pound...if anything i gained 4lbs on vacation and am thankfully back to where i was before. Now i just need to get my exercising in and maybe get the 10lbs off..good luck to you!!
  14. congrats! you look great...i hope to be as successful as you at 6 months post op
  15. I am...got my date on Monday....September 5th here!!!
  16. I just got my surgery date for September 5th as well. The office is closed that Monday for Labor Day so ill work Tuesday and my manager will need to do without me (i am a supervisor) for the next week and a half..lol I wish my preop diet was that easy!! I am only allowed Protein shakes and sugar free popcicle's...maybe broth. I will find out on August 2nd when i go to the eating class put on by the NUT. Now that i have a date it seems more real...its been 6 months in the making but 8 since i started looking into and researching. Best of Luck!
  17. I just got my surgery date as well...and its September 5th! Now i just need to lose some more weight before surgery but the countdown is on!! eeekks

  19. Congrats! I can't wait to be sleeved and feel that way
  20. I am so glad to hear this!! The gallbladder removal i had in 2004 was nothing...so i am hoping the sleeve is the same!! Well i don't mean nothing but i was tired and within 3 days was pain free.
  21. Hmm that is interesting. I also have heard of cauliflower crust pizza..if you Google it you will find a ton of recipes. I included a link in case you maybe want to try that one too! http://www.recipegirl.com/2012/01/16/cauliflower-crust-hawaiian-pizza/
