Hi, Were you denied becuase you didnt do the I can Change program with Tufts (i have them). I know from talking to the place I am going and with Tufts that they will NOT approve you until you finish this program and its 6 months long. If you havent done the program then that would be the missing documentation as they provide a "graduation" letter at the end and this needs to be submitted with the paperwork the doctor submits. Im done with my program next month and i cant wait!! Now i just need to get my surgery date. Im sorry your so frustrated but have you called Tufts directly? Wishing you luck!!

I haven't been sleeved yet so i haven't experienced that feeling you get but i was told i didn't need to only eat 3 times a day. Maybe try smaller meals 5 times a day?? The place I am going also said 30 min before and after for water..i love how different surgeons all have different instructions for us! Keep up the good work!

have you figured out how many calories you are actually getting in a day? If your calorie count is too low and your burning off a ton of calories then your body may go into "Starvation mode" and is holding onto all of it. Ive read alot of people that upped their calories by a few hundred and weight started to come off again. I know it must be frustrating to not be losing the lbs but youve lost a ton already so congrats on that and you said yourself your clothes have been fitting better. Keep up the good work!

I wouldnt think so but it will determine WHERE you lose fat. Im currently an apple shape with most of my weight in my stomach area and i used to have an hour glass lol I cant wait to get that back!

Nope! I am going through Lahey in Burlington. I was just in Manchester on Saturaday on my way back from Castle in the Clouds! I forgot how pretty it is up in the lakes region but hate how many bug bites i got. I havent heard anything about the program your in as the only other person i have seen from NH went down to Lahey. lol

Hi, This is off topic i know but i was born and raised in Nashua and i see your from Manchester. I had a ton of friends up there as well so i know my way around. I was curious where you are going for your surgery if you've picked a place yet? Good luck with the your insurance (i have Tufts so i cant input).

I said the same thing and i turn 32 in November myself! haha So it looks like ill have to wait until im 33 but its still doable. I heard losing weight can make you very fertile so i wish you luck on that!

I havent been sleeved yet but i love your posts. i wasnt blessed with big boobs like my mother (mother natures cruel humor) but last time i lost weight they got bigger!! haha I still have a feeling after i lose 100 to 120lbs ill want to get a boob job anyways.

Woohoo. Congrats! I finally got my appt to see the surgeon (i had to lose weight first) and its set for 7/2 im hoping for August/September date.

haha I loved this post and i like how honest you are!! There are things about sex that i would i could do more of (positions mostly) so i cant wait to be smaller and enjoy sex even more so than i do now! Congrats!!

How are you doing?? your almost 5 months post op. I hopefully will be having my sleeve in August at Lahey as well. I go today actually to see the Np and hopefully get an appt with the surgeon..we will see. So far i love their program and everyone is really nice. How are they post op?

I am hoping for that too! Im done with my insurance 6 month program end of July and im hoping to have the sleeve done in August.

Unless you have problems that the anestesiologist has to take into consideration i think you just meet them the day of. Thats how it was with my other surgery (i havent been sleeved yet).

I am in the same boat. I go for a followup tomorrow and im hoping i get the appointment to see the Surgeon. Good luck at your appt!

It depends on the doctor but when i had my gallbladder out i had a ton of piercings (15 in my ears, nose, navel, tongue and a fun one). I took all the ones out but one in my ears, put a clear plastic retainer in the nose and took out the tongue, fun one and navel out. I remember they said i couldnt keep the tongue ring in even with a retainer because of the tube they put down your throat and you shouldnt have anything metal on you. If you have anything like nipples or navel i wouldnt think you'd be able to keep clear plastic retainers in there but the nose should be ok. Id ask. I did end up losing a few piercings from the gallbladder surgery (navel since they take it out there there) and one in my ears. I havent been sleeved yet but i would ask your surgeon!

When i had my gallbladder out i had a ton of piercings..(tongue, navel, ears, nose) and for my nose i used a lil bit of fishing line and tied a knot and cut off the excess. I couldn't even tell i had something in my nose like i do my stud now. This is my second time having my nose pierced so i know for a fact they close fast (faster then most). They also make clear plastic studs that can be used for surgeries..i think the thing they do not want is the metal. I would confirm if you can just use a clear plastic stud or if not think about the fishing line or something similar and when you are in recovery you can probably put it back in. That is something ill have to ask my surgeon when i see him!

I have had my gallbladder out via lapropscopically and if the healing time is the same that would be awesome because i was fine within a few days (pain wise). I didn't notice a change in my taste though from the gallbladder removal but i did hear you can have that from the WLS. Good luck!

Just wanted to state that i plugged this website last night at the last meeting for my behavioral eating classes. The psychologist running the meeting was listing a bunch of sites for patients to go onto for support and he listed the www.lapbandtalk.com one, but didn't know about this one. So I spoke up and everyone in the room was very happy I did so! I just hope that they use this forum and it helps them as much as it has me and that he wrote it down so the future classes can use it as well.

I am going to Lahey too. I don't have a surgery date yet though.

Well i haven't been sleeved yet but the yellow liquid is just bile because you have nothing in your stomach. You could be feeling nauseous because you aren't eating enough. How long are you going between eating and how many calories are you getting in a day? Another weird question but you aren't pregnant are you?? Hope this all works out for you sooner than later!
