January 2012 Sleevers!
My doc calls full liquid, protein shakes, soups, greek yogurt, sf pudding as long as I add protein (need 60-70gm/day) and as long as there are no pieces. What does your doc allow on the full liquid phase?

Ideas For Full Liquid Phase
Full liquids are sooo yummy! The flavor of real food. My faves, so far, are: half a can Fat free broccoli/cheese Soup, made with Water, blended with a slice or 2 of fat free cheese (to raise the protein) half a can of fat free cream of celery, made with water, blended with a half a can of chunk white tuna. These take me an hour to eat, stuff kinda trickles slowly into my tummy, and leave me quite full and satisfied. I'll add more as I experiment. Some things I want to try are, baby food meat in cream soup, fat free cottage cheese in tomato soup, I have a recipe for an eggnog smoothie that sounds good too. I May have that one for dinner.

That sucks! I was lucky, mine was done and over the few days before surgery. Feel better.

January 2012 Sleevers!
Yesterday, 4 days post op, I was sooo bored with clear liquids. I tried an Unjury chicken broth. It is really good, tastes like Lipton cup-a-soup, started drinking it faster than I should, OWWW! got halfway through, and could drink no more. Note to self...LITTLE sips!

January 2012 Sleevers!
at Walmart they are $4.74/4pk and Shoprite has them for $4.79/4pk and this past Sunday 1/22, paper, had a $1.00 off any EAS product. Before surgery, that is how I stocked up, I got a bunch of these coupons from a clipping service. http://www.thecouponclippers.com even though they cost .12/cpn, you can save alot of money on them, if you like them.

Which Protein drinks have you tried? EAS AdvantEdge Carb control RTD, r my fav. Choc fudge tastes like yoohoo, strawberry-Strawberry Quick, Cafe caramel-ice coffee. Before surgery, I actually craved those shakes. I am 3 days out and struggling to get enough Clear Liquids. Every teenie sip, takes several seconds to get from my esophagus to my sleeve. I can actually feel and hear it go through, cool and gross at the same time. Other than that I am just tired and weak, to be expected, when only on clear liquids. Sat. I get to have my Protein Shakes, kinda excited and nervous. Good luck to everyone pre and post sleeve.

January 2012 Sleevers!
It sounds like everyone feels the same way while waiting. I sure did and like you got everything in order so I don't have alot to do when I return home, made a packing list and got stuff together little by little for 2 weeks. Now I am sleeved!

January 2012 Sleevers!
good luck! I know you don't want the cold to postpone things, but...coughing may cause you pain after surgery, so may be for the best if doc says you need to wait

I was the same way, probably drove my sis absolutely nuts (short drive, lol!) if it annoyed her, she never let it show

January 2012 Sleevers!
Got out of surgery at 11:30 this am. At first ALOT of pain and nausea, but due to a VERY attentive nurse I had a pain pump and nausea meds, feeling much better now. Just tired, (didn't sleep at all last night).

January 2012 Sleevers!
Have to be at hospital at 5:45 am on Monday, which is perfect as I probably won't sleep all night anyway. They are calling for sleet Sunday night and I don't want anything to keep me from getting there so I am staying in a hotel Sunday night. Maybe my sis and I will catch a movie. :purplebananna: I'm not nervous yet, maybe won't be, just excited!

January 2012 Sleevers!
Surgery Monday, Gatorade G2 in fridge chilling for Sunday, bag partially packed and list of other things to pack. I'm excited and ready to go. A little worried about some sleet predicted, hopefully will be ok. On pins and needles till 4:00 when I can call to find arrival time.

January 2012 Sleevers!
MTC, just curious, why did they have to place an IVC filter? My doc is going to use Venadyne boots during/after surgery to prevent clots. Good job, sticking to your plan, that was a tough one.

January 2012 Sleevers!
I love reading all the different experiences. Most of you sound like it was relatively painless. I call Friday between 4-7pm (read 4:00 on the dot!) to find out my arrival time for Monday January 23rd. I am so excited to begin the journey back to the skinny me. :Banane55: I'm glad everyone is doing well. I want to find someone in my area, Sullivan County, NY.

I Am 8 Days Post Op And Eating/hungry Like Crazy Help!
Did you mention the back/shoulder pain to your doc? Even your primary would do. That is one one the things I am told I should watch for after surgery and notify my doctor if it continues past 2 days post-op.

January 2012 Sleevers!
I was told to find shakes with <110 calories, 15-25 gm protein, <4gm carbs, < 3 gm fat. The more carbs in the shake the more it can make you feel hungry

January 2012 Sleevers!
Hi Heather. It seems that everyone's pre-op diet is different. Mine is 14 days, 2 protein shakes a day and one healthy meal. I absolutely LOVE the EAS AdvantEdge shakes, so that part is easy. I have a huge supply for pre and post surgery. For pre and post surgery clears (1 day before and 1 week after) I have a supply of unflavored protein powder to mix with Crystal Light and chicken broth. This way I can vary the flavor, so I don't get bored, and yet not spend a ton of money buying different flavors.

January 2012 Sleevers!
January 23, 2012!!! I'm glad that I'm not the only one that is VERY excited.Began pre-op diet yesterday, feels real now, getting closer by the minute, feels like the home stretch! It sounds weird to be excited about surgery, but maybe I'm not exactly excited about the surgery itself, maybe I'm excited about losing the weight and becoming the 'real' me again. Does anyone else have a fat personality and a skinny personality? My fat personality doesn't like to socialize, has no energy, is shy, emotionally sensitive, takes things too personally. My skinny personality is VERY high energy, extroverted, busy, confident.

Are You Telling People That Your Having This Surgery?
I'm kind of looking forward to seeing the shocked look on people's faces, when they see the dramatic weight loss.

I'm Probably A Screw Up...
Or...maybe you are human. It is NEVER easy to lose a loved one. It sounds like you are taking good care of yourself, it was just a slip.
