Today I did an experiment and ate my veggies, well it was mushrooms which aren't really veggies with my meat. The result was the same as when I eat salads out. Protein didn't sit in my stomach as long, and I wasn't full/satisfied as long. Going to stick with eating my veggies separate

Today is my Nan's 94th birthday... She doesn't know it... She doesn't even know who she is... But she's still kicking... That's her and I in my profile pic... It was a few months and a few kilos ago... I know she can't see this but I'm saying it anyway.... Happy birthday Nan...

Going to the cemetary with my youngest grandson to have a picnic with great grandpa. No tears--just great family stories told from one generation to another. Happy Fathers' Day!

My weight loss tip of the day: Eat your meals while standing in front of a mirror naked. The restaurant will certainly kick you out before you can overeat!

It took me a long time to be able to even get all my protein as I had a lot of swelling. My NUT told me to avoid any non protein foods until I was hitting my protein goals. So no veggies or anything for 18 months for me.
Are you getting enough liquid? Dehydration will make you tired and not feel well. Talk to your NUT/surgeon, you may need labs to make sure you are not malnourished during this difficult beginning. Hope you feel better soon, sorry it's such a rough start. It will be worth it in the long run.

Insurance approved Panni and TT, HOORAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!

I have severe ankylosing spondylosis in my entire spine, so I started with pain management. I went on my insurance website, and searched 'criteria for panniculectomy'. Took that to pain management doctor who wrote a letter of medical necessity that echoed all the criteria needed. I also wrote a letter that spoke about the co-morbidities that were resolved with weight loss (HBP, SEVERE apnea) and how exercise is crucial in keeping weight off. Also how the extra skin, was limiting my range of motion and exercise options. This along with the plastic surgeon's pictures and prior approval request went to my insurance company. And the stars and planets aligned, lol, it ended up on the right person's desk and not only was panni approved, but also abdominoplasty!! I was SHOCKED and showed the approval letter to several people who were just as surprised, including the plastic surgeon.
All insurance is different, though. The surgeon said that one insurance company required that the patient have rashes and infections so severe that they needed to be hospitalized and on IV antibiotics!

Protein tastes like what I assume poop tastes like.
