  1. Congrats! Sounds like things are going the right direction.
  2. It takes me all day to get 8 oz of protein shake down. Today I have been able to get more fluid in so the swelling must be going down. I still am not hungry!
  3. Good Luck! You seem to have a good mind set and will do great! My Dr says you will be able to eat whatever you want, just limited amounts. Everything you lose is up to you. You and your body will decide your future. Good Luck!!
  4. I was banded on March 9th as well! The swelling is starting to go down and it hurts less to move. I have attempted the scales yet but maybe on Friday (1 wk). I am happy with my decision to go with the band. I had so many trying to tell me that the band wasn't for me. I am ready to prove them wrong. Good luck to everyone!!
  5. Dee, the gas-x strips are great for the gas. They are only bad when I get up and move around after a nap. I can lay on my sides but it hurts to trying to get up. Today has been a jello cup and at the most half a tomato soup (those soup at hand things). I'm ready for the swelling to go down and the tenderness to go away.
  6. My sister told me about drinking a warm drink in the mornings. She said especially if you have a lot of sinus drainage. I need to up my water intake since surgery but I feel so full. I've been able to take 1-2 sips but thats it and then I will be full. Guess thats a good thing but thinking I should get more water in.
  7. Good Luck sunflowerlover! You can do this!!
  8. I had been using GNC brand but ran out so I bought the Body Fortress. It is too sweet for me too so I would add 1 scoop or less to a cup of water. Those already banded: What is your liquid diet consist of? I never thought I would be so thankful for chicken broth!. Anyone freezing? I am freezing where as before I was always hot.
  9. Karla, Glad its getting better. Mainly my gas pain is when I get up after a nap or sleeping for night. If this rain would let up then I could go for a walk outside. Thankfully, I haven't been interested in eating regular food so this liquid diet is easy so far. Is the FB page a private page? Or just a new public page? Just wondering, if its a private page I would use my regular account..
  10. I wasn't told to measure anything just to make sure I was sipping all day. I need to make sure I do the Protein Shakes. I'm have a lot of gas pain tonight and thankful for those Gas-X strips!
  11. From Killeen but banded in San Antonio yesterday!
  12. Congrats! Thats awesome! I think if I tried this 5 yrs ago, I would not have been ready. I am so ready for this now. I have to succeed with this. So far, my bp has been down and I am not to take it unless it gets over 130/90. So even losing what I have to this point has been a great success for my body. Now to get off the other meds so I can be healthy for my kids.
  13. Hi, I am finally home. I had to stay overnight. Guess I had some complications in the OR with anesthia(?) my lungs hardnened up twice. They said it would be similar to someone that has asthma attacks. They hit my voice box with the tube so my voice is scratchy. Everything else went good. I have 4 incisions. I return for my follow up on March 22.
  14. Good Luck D!! I am going in PJs too! The temps dropped last night from 82 to 56 really fast and the wind was horrible so figure its cold out too. Someone must have forgot to pay the electric bill in Texas!
  15. I am SO excited! I will be leaving for the hospital in about 30 minutes.. I am ready to be on the band wagon.
  16. Thank you! Good Luck to you too!
  17. Tomorrow is MY day! I found out today that I am required to stay overnight. I have to report at 8 am tomorrow morning so we will leave here around 630. I am excited and nervous.
  18. I just found out that I am required an overnight stay (Insurance). I have my surgery tomorrow
  19. gingerwale... LOL @ seconds. I wish I could go take a bubble bath. I intended to come home after work and pack but my two male dogs decided (for the first time ever) to fight. My dalmation has a cut ear and bleeding like crazy. I "think" I have it stopped now but my house looks like a crime scene. Plus I need to pack my two kids (3 yrs and 5 yrs) and myself for a week. My surgery is 3 hours away so we will be staying with family until I am able to drive and get around ok. judych... Thanks!
  20. gingerwale, I am pre-op and on a protein shake diet only. My surgery is Friday.
  21. I am having a very crappy night and I am an emotional eater so I need will power. I want to eat everything in sight.. Ugh going to duct tape my mouth shut.. lol think that will work? :-p
  22. Oh, pain 5 days out? I am worried how I will be going back. I would think I should be fine b/c I have a week off. I am having a hiatal hernia repaired as well. So far I do not know mysurgery time for Friday. I will find that out during pre-op on Thursday.
  23. Good Luck! I would be nervous and cautious. Ask plenty of questions.
