  1. Thank you! I went to see the nut and she did a weight analysis and says I gained 4 pounds of muscle since I last saw her at the end of Nov.. I'm hoping that between the muscle gain and this 3 wk stall thing, my scales start moving. My calories are around 500-800 calories a day. I know I shouldn't be stressing but I do, I really want to see some progress!
  2. I had the lapband for 5 years and after complications, I had revision to sleeve (12/28/74). With the lapband I lost 80 pounds so it did help but now with sleeve I have lost only 9 pounds in a month. Yesterday was my 1 month check up (few days early) and both the Dr and myself were disappointed at the weightloss (1 pound in 2 wks)... I have been on the soft food stage and exercising as much as I can fit into my schedule. I do cardio throughout the day (kinder teacher so we dance and exercise to learning songs) and then walk 1-2 miles after school depending on when I can leave. Then go get my children from daycare, get home by 6pm, cook dinner, get bathes and kids ready for bed. Anyone else not losing much with sleeve after revision? Dr wants me to go back to drinking mainly Protein drinks in order to lose more weight. I have to lose more by end of May, beginning of June b/c that is when we plan on fixing my incisional hernia. (He wants 100 pounds lost before surgery).
  3. Dr had me on soft foods until my appt yesterday (just short 1 month out).. Yesterday, he said I should be jogging by now but my knees can't take it plus I have rhumatoid artheritis so I hurt even after brisk walking. I was mainly eating cheese, hummus, yugurts, etc..

    Can't eat!

Some of what you guys describe is what is happening to me! Since Nov. I have only been able to drink liquids and very few soft foods. I had a Barium swallow done and suppose to be good (no slippage). However, if I eat solids then I throw up. Some days, I can't even get soup down before it comes back up. So I resorted to drinking my calories (Starbucks, sodas, etc) I have wanted to do a revision to the sleeve but wondering if I have scar tissue (from reading what you guys are experiencing). Good Luck and hope we all start feeling better!

    Upper left Abdominal Pain

I left this board/site for a while and now back. I have pain that sounds like what you are describing. Mine comes out of no where, one minute I am fine and the next, I am doubled over in pain. My band is completely empty since I told my surgeon I was pg. I had a barium swallow done and no slipping. I can't eat solids, if I do, I vomit to back up either within minutes or hours. Hours after eating I still can not drink and I feel like I went on a feast (even though I know I didn't not over eat). I resorted to drinking my calories and eating sliders b/c it was easier to get down and less often the vomiting. (However, I still had it with liquids and junk but not as often). I've started watching my carbs and cut out the sodas, fraps, etc and only eating one meal a day (very light).. Hope you are doing better and enjoying your new journey.

    Tightness out of nowhere!

Did you go to the Dr and find out what is wrong?
  7. I'm trying to get the revision done as well. I really want a 1 step process but this new Dr doesn't have experience doing the revision so he wants to "play it safe" and do a 2 step.. This really stinks b/c of my work schedule. My boss really harps on our attendance. I know I will have a Dr's note but when I got the band it was over the summer. But my monthly appts, my boss threw a fit about it so bad that I had to contact my union and complete Intermittent FMLA paperwork to get her off my back.. Even this year, I was out with extreme pain (come to find out it was incisional hernia), but she emailed me and CC'd the assistant principals asking about my absence.. Then sent a second emails saying "A little birdie told me that you are really sick, I hope things are ok"... IF I can get approved (according to this Dr it will be difficult to do), I will have the removal in July (easy part he says) but have to wait 2-3 months for sleeve (this is the hard part with insurance)..
  8. I'm have a horrible time with Darnall and the Dr there. Its gone as far as me filing a complaint against him. I went to see a Different Dr at Seton and LOVED this Dr. He was so down to earth and easy to talk to. Only problem is he says that Tricare has yet to approve anyone locally off post and would refer me back on post. If this happens, what do I do? I'm stuck
  9. It was Dr. young! He got up and walked out of our appointment with him. I have seen him 3 times... November, they lost my record so only thing proving that I was there was a Dr's note for my work, they were suppose to call me back to schedule follow-up, never did... 2nd meeting, he apologized for dropping the ball, order tests, said I will call you as soon as I get the results back, he never did. I called nurse, no response. .. went back to my PCM for another issue (diagnosised ventral hernia).. 3rd meeting, I asked him why he never called me with the test results, he again apologized but said "Its not like I was doing it on purpose." Well, no but it happened and this has gotten me no where.. He refused to touch my hernia while doing other surgery.. I asked why? (Really didn't know) He got up and walked out saying "Go see someone else".. The nurse, my husband and I all dropped our jaws in shock. Few minutes later, he said "I put in a referral for another Dr. go see him" (Turned to nurse and told her to leave).. I asked to speak to someone, she went to get Head nurse.. WHile waiting for Head nurse, Dr. Young walked by and said "Are you waiting to talk to someone?" Yes, I am .. He points to the exit and says "Patient Advocate is that way".. I tell him that nurse said I needed to talk to Head nurse first.. He again points to exit and says, "I said go that way to patient advocate"..
  10. My Lapband Dr is upset I'm pregnant again. I had a miscarriage in November at 10wks. I had severe morning sickness with that pregnancy so he wanted to do an endoscopy. I scheduled the test but his office cancelled on me and between their holiday schedule and mine (plus work), we couldn't reschedule. It wouldn't have worked anyways b/c by then I was pg again. Today, I go in b/c I'm having a lot of gall bladder issues and he gets upset b/c I'm pregnant and can't have the endo done and a HIDA? scan done. I remind him that I had a HIDA done before I was pg the first time and it came back at 79%. He tells me that he is removing all Fluid from my band and if I still have issues during the pregnancy, HE will schedule an emergency band removal.

    Dr is ticked I'm pregnant!

Thanks! DH and I were talking about this last night. We went to San Antonio due to no one around my area (Killeen/Ft Hood) would do the surgery on me. They told me I was too fat for the lapband and I wouldn't be successful. However, since the surgery, I have gone off all meds (blood pressure, diabetes) and I got pregnant twice on my own. I needed medical assistance getting pg with my older boys. I have a new OB and she is wonderful. We were talking about seeing if we could find someone here now that I've had the surgery to do follow-ups. I see my OB next week so I will be talking to her to see if she can help transfer me to a post Dr. (Ft. Hood).

    Pregnant with my band

Congratulations! I am currently 15wks 3days pregnant. I had a miscarriage in Nov (@10wks) and they took out about 2cc b/c I was severely sick. With this pregnancy, I was doing great until last week and getting worse. I see my surgeon in the morning and will be asking for all of my Fluid out. I don't think my band is the issue but really thinking its my gall bladder again. I haven't been able to keep food down for over a week now. I've lost 11 pounds in a week so my OB can rule out the band as the issue is to remove the fluid. IF I am still having vomiting after the fluid is removed she said she would send me to general surgery to check out my gall bladder again. Last year, I had the HIDA? scan done and my gall bladder was functioning at 79% and I was having the same issues. I am very nervous about how this is harming my baby.

    Really tight in early pregnancy?

Hoping you find some relief! I had about 2cc's removed during my first Lapband pregnancy (ended in m/c at 10wks).. This time, I was doing very well until last week. I don't know if its stomach virus going around or if its my gall bladder again but I am going in Monday to get fluid removed. I eat and within minutes to 1 hour, I am vomiting everything up. I've lost 7 pounds in less than a week.
  14. yvonne74

Something is wrong, not sure what yet.

How are you feeling? I wonder b/c your story sounds like me the past week.

I had to have a lot removed during my first lapband pregnancy.

    Pregnant again after m/c

THank you! We are excited and nervous at the same time due to our recent loss. However, everything is going very well at this point and thankful for that. Hoping to call my surgeon on Monday to make sure my referral is still good, if not, I will have to wait 2-3 days for that to be put in. For now, taking it slow and easy until then.
  17. I had a miscarriage in November and currently pregnant again. I had a little over 2cc's out in Nov due to unable to keep fluids/food down or to get it down. I haven't had any issues until this week (10wks pg) and now it hurts to eat solids. Is it possible I have a slip? Or what? I know it can't be from too tight already?
  18. I found out this past Wednesday (11/6) that I've had a miscarriage. Next Wednesday (11/13/13), I will have a D&C... Anyone else have a m/c with lapband? How long after m/c did you get pregnant again? This isn't my first miscarriage but we've tried for 5 yrs and finally got pg again and really having a hard time with accepting it.

    M/c At 9Wks

This Doctor refused to test me for progesterone. I had to take it with my other pregnancies but this new dr said that there is not a correlation between low progesterone and miscarriages This is one reason I will be searching for another doctor as soon as I am cleared medically.
  20. I will be 8 wks pregnant on Monday and so far I'm eating a LOT less now than before pregnancy. My Dr took out 1cc when I first found out due to m/s and not able to eat/drink. Now I am only able to eat 2-3 bites and I'm done. If I eat more, I am throwing up or miserable. I'm surprised at how little I am eating. Is this normal in the first trimester? I don't go back to see my surgeon until Nov. 11..

    8 wks pregnant and eating

UPDATE: I go Wednesday to confirm miscarriage (9wks loss)
  22. Cautiously posting that I got a faint positive this morning!! It was a Clearblue easy (have heard blue dye tests are famous for false positives) so I went and bought some different kinds. I'm having gallbladder issues and was hoping to get it out soon but looks like that might be on hold for now.

Thank you! I had 1cc taken out of the band due to not keeping food/water down. I'm feeling much better now but still have morning sickness off/on.. I will be 6 wks on Tuesday
