8 wks pregnant and eating

I will be 8 wks pregnant on Monday and so far I'm eating a LOT less now than before pregnancy. My Dr took out 1cc when I first found out due to m/s and not able to eat/drink. Now I am only able to eat 2-3 bites and I'm done. If I eat more, I am throwing up or miserable. I'm surprised at how little I am eating. Is this normal in the first trimester? I don't go back to see my surgeon until Nov. 11..

If you're dealing with morning sickness, then yes very normal. I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter (before I had the band) I actually lost 3 pounds my first trimester because I was so dang nauseous all the time.

If you're worried, I'd talk to your doctor about possibly removing a little more. In the meantime, if you're truly not eating but a few bites, I would consider something like high Protein Ensure to supplement your diet so you both you and the baby get enough calories.

Congratulations!
