my 30 year old daughter crossed with me on Friday Sept 10. all she had was id and birth certificate. no problem at all. they were more concerned about the dead steer leg stuffed with a glass bottle she bought and was bringing back accross with her. lol

I was sleeved by Dr Almanza on Sept 5 and he used a boughie with me too. I believe his literature states that he does and indicates the size. I had a very good experience and was well taken care of. their communication can be a bit lax but I have no regrets and would do it again in a minute. made some great friends that i hope to maintain contact with, Most fun was a special shopping trip put together just for us to Ensenada and the blow hole ...it was awesome! yep not everyone felt like going but those of us who did enjoyed every minute of the tour.

Aloha! I am 59 and scheduled for surgery on Sept. 7. I love reading about your success, I was worried that post op might be tougher for this old girl than it is for the younger folks:)

you are doing great! My BMI is 33. I also would like to be at 140-145 I know the weight wont come off as fast as someone with more to lose but we can do it!
How was your after surgery experience for the first few days... I am sooo curious!

I am also self pay in Mexico. I got my pre and post op info after filling out a patient form then paying the deposit to hold a surgery date . email them and ask for the info if you need lots of lead time. I wanted to make sure all my shopping was done early! For BMI of less than 40 my doctor only requires a three day pre surgery liquid diet, good luck!

I am contemplating gastric sleeve surgery with Dr Almanza in the near future. I'd love to hear the good and bad with regard to him and his facility/care. I am trying to be as educated as I can and rely on your expertise. if you have suggestions for places I can look for information on this doctor I'd also be very grateful. Mexico is the only option for me. I am paying for the surgery myself.
thank you

I had my passport and my daughter did not. she had no problem getting back into the United States with her picture ID and birth certificate. IT was very stressful though worrying about it! lol At the border we got held up because she bought an awful looking cow leg that had been made into a wine decanter and wanted to bring it home with her... she ended up getting it back and we were on our way with no problem
