Finally I am able to get back on...I tired replying and it wouldn't let me for some reason... thank you Karen and Pax for the replies...we had potato salad and I ate some forgetting it had eggs in it, but so far I'm ok..maybe I just can't have omelets, I don't know, but I'm not going to go back to eating them to find out because I don't like the dumping syndrome. That's great on your 44 pound loss Pax for being just 8 mos out...are you doing any exercises at all? Thank you for the helpful hint, I do sleep with my head elevated because I had c-spine surgery 10 years ago so I no longer sleep with my head flat, but that's a great idea about nothing to eat after 8pm...I do hope by losing slow I will keep it off longer and have a healthier body.
  4. I was banded Jan 19, 2011... a couple of times my band was too tight so had to have a half cc taken out...I just had a fill a week ago and it isn't going too well, I keep regurgitating and some times after I fall to sleep I wake up choking and it's hard to breath, but I get through it, then I'm fine, but I lose sleep over it. I haven't lost that much in a year which bothers me but Dr. Valentine' assistant Annie said it's better to lose slow...all toll I have lost 44 pounds, but I don't feel any changes in my clothes either...is this normal...how long did it take any of you to lose a considerable amount of weight and how did you do your first year out?

Thank you Shirley and Schell, I appreciate the replies...your right Shirley it is better then gaining, so I'm not going to get discouraged . I don't eat a lot of carbs any more, not like I use to anyways...but I still eat them...I'm thinking of trying the gluten free diet and see how that works for me. Hugs~Pattie
  6. My name is Pattie, I was banded Jan 19, 2011 I'm coming up on my first year baniversary, Dr. Valentine was my surgeon. I started out @ 278 and as of today I am @ 240...I don't feel like I'm losing all that much or that fast...I got sick two mos ago from the band being too tight, so Annie, Dr. Valentines assistant took 1 cc out and I felt instant relief...then in Dec, I went back in and she gave me a half cc and so far I seem to be doing ok, There have been a couple of times tho after drinking water it came back up...so now I don't take big gulps. I still get hungry especially at night a couple of hours after I have eaten dinner...I don't eat big portions any more because I'm too afriad it will make me sick...does anyone here go that? I also found out eggs were giving me the trots or dumping syndrome...I thought by getting banded instead of the RuNY I wouldn't get the dumping syndrom, but I guess I am still learning what I can or cannot eat. I have found I can eat breads, pasta, pizza without it getting stuck, but I chose not to eat a lot and I still do not buy bread. I was also told that I shouldn't eat stringy veggie's has anyone else in the group been told that?
