LOL yes amazeballs is good! I had problem skin, like kinda blotchy just on my left cheek. It's completely gone and my skin is smooth. I met my friend for lunch yesterday and she said it looks like I lost weight. I lost 10 pre-op and I'm not weighing myself until Wednesday (just weekly weigh-ins for me).

Thanks for the updates. Yeah I learned myself that the bandages aren't supposed to be pulled off OOPS!. I bought some surgical tape yesterday and attempted to clean off the "goo" and was going to replace the bandages, then I was like ummm this doesn't feel right. I tried using alcohol to get the goo off, it didn't really work. Today I almost scrubbed my skin off in the shower and most of it came off. Yesterday I met my friend at Panera and went to the mall. I feel regular and normal. I took today off because I thought I would need a week off, so I'm enjoying lounging around at home. It's weird, I'm having bowel movements, they are liquid but it's weird because I'm not eating anything. And also my whole digestive system is just very noisy. I'm doing well with water, Gatorade, and popsicles. I could actually do without the broth. I already decorated my April calendar with the days we can start protein shakes, and skim milk, then mushy foods. I've been good and not stepped on the scale. I'm going to commit to only weekly weigh-ins (on Wednesdays). Have you tried PowerAid? You might like it better, it tastes better to me but the Gatorade isn't bad so I'm sticking to it. He's great and he has been since he first called me on the phone last month. He answers all questions and is very friendly. I heard good things about him on these boards before I chose him. I would never choose an arrogant surgeon. I haven't met this new assistant everyone is talking about. I met Ana and Dr. Kelly's wife, she drove us around in a big van. They are great as well!

Hi everyone I'm sleeved! Woo hoo! My friend said I was gone for about an hour and a half. Everything was a blur. I dont even remember being in recovery. I just remember being very nervous and getting the injection in my arm and it hurt. I'm thinking oh crap if this injection hurts I'm going to be so sore when I wake up. I remember my eyes crossing and saying its working then laughing then I was out cold. I remember moving myself over to my bed. I didn't feel any pain just nausea. I felt like I had to hurl. They have been pumping me full of meds. Dr. Kelly came by and gave me my camera. He took two pictures of my stomach for me. It looked huge. He said last night was the worst part and I will feel better in the morning. So far I have taken two walks and had ice and Water. The water doesn't hurt going down but it does gurgle. Hi everyone. Sarah just got me up so I can shower and she can prep me for surgery. I'm scheduled for 10 am. Annnnnnd my period was 6 days late and decided to come on just now. Fml! Thanks! Yeah I really do want to see and feel my stomach but I knew that would be asking too much lol. I have a pretty strong stomach, I worked with rat parts in grad school and made rat brain smoothies out of them. I will definitely keep posting. I'm so excited! I guess the nerves will hit me when I'm stretched out on the operating table tomorrow.

What are good ways to handle the questions like, oh you're not eating? Or oh, that's all you're eating? I'm being sleeved in 2 days and I just got an e-mail at work about my supervisor's promotion party. It's at a Mexican spot exactly 2 weeks post-op. I already looked at the menu and know I can get the chicken tortilla soup and just eat the broth. But I already know I will be questioned. The last time we had bday cake at work, I didn't want any and it seems like everyone was down my throat about it. I said I was watching my sugar, oh this is not that sweet. ugh! I ended up taking a plate back to my office and trashing it. I'm really considering calling in sick that day. I really don't want to deal with the questions. Help!

Yes I agree. There are so many natural remedies out there but people want to believe everything their doctors tell them. With everything do your own research and make your own decisions that you are comfortable with. Say what you want about HCG, but a lot of people are blind to the facts because they don't do the research and drink the kool-aid. Yes, you lose weight b/c of the 500 calorie diet (there is no defying the laws of physics), but the hormone stops your body into going into "conservation" mode because it thinks it's pregnant. I had success with HCG, kept if off for a year and gained it back super fast when I went on antidepressants. I told my PCP this, we had an in depth discussion on obesity (I have a PhD so I love to talk science). He told me that HCG is not the "cure for obesity" because I gained it back. A cure is something that makes it go away and never come back. He's the one that told me the cure to obesity is surgery and he was the only doctor I've ever had to suggest it to me. I've been overweight since childhood. So yes, obesity is genetic. The fact is, HCG is a hormone, it can't be patented, drug companies can't make money off of it. For the FDA to approve something safe and effective, you have to submit an application where you have done expensive clinical trials (millions of dollars). So guess what, if a company did decide to do the trials for HCG, they can't patent it, anybody can sell it after the trials are done, one company would not have exclusivity for the profits. Dr. Simeons (the developer of the HCG Pounds and Inches protocol) did do the research and wrote it up. So people that have read it and followed it know that it works and why it works. I did the Medifast liquid diet for a month and lost a whopping 8 pounds. I lost 25 pounds in my first month of HCG. You do the math. *steps off soapbox* Oh, and Sally I have read several of your posts. You have been sleeved, you have your tool, you will not drop the weight over night. You need to let it do it's work. I know I'm the last person to tell someone else to be patient, but you are going to have to be.

No not crazy at all. You have the power to take control and get this surgery. I have battled the bulge since 12 and I'm finally about to win this war!! My insurance company did not approve me. My BMI is 39. Not high enough. I have 101 lbs to lose to be at the top range of normal. With that much to lose you would think I would get an approval. They are both great surgeons from what ive read. To be honest I read about DR. Kelly and how most leaks occur at the top of the pouch and he takes a flab of fat and stitches it around the top portion of the pouch. When he called me and I had my list of questions ready, he told me that without even me asking. And of course the fact that you are in the hospital for 2 days and he uses the tape instead of sutures. Hey sleeve sister. I thought we were supposed to be on Clear Liquids 3 days before surgery. I started my own 2 week diet just doing a Protein shake for lunch and Breakfast then I have meat and veggies for dinner. I am planning on doing broth and Jello 3 days before.
