    My restart plan!

Hey there...I have recently revamped my workouts and eating so I feel you Honey! I pretty much coasted my first year still held on to bad habits but in moderation. I only lost about 60 lbs. when I really needed a solid 100+ to get to my ideal. I worked out doing step aerobics 3 times a week but nothing more than that. Last month I decided to hire a personal trainer and I am working out with him 3 times a week and on the days I don't train I am running 3-5 miles. I am building up my run and I feel like even with that I need to kick it up a little more. I have seen some major changes in my body and I am more motivated than before. I just wish I would have done the training sooner. I love the fact that with the sleeve it is easier to get back on track and get my eating in order. I use fitness pal to keep up with my calories and workout. I stay on track like that. Good luck with your plan and congrats on your loss! That is AMAZING!

    Is It Safe..

I was severely constipated for 2 weeks after surgery. I am 5 weeks post op and my Dr. Recommended colace, miralax and benefiber. I didn't take them all the same day but did use the benefiber with each one of those stool softeners. Neither one is harsh at all.

    Slowest Loser!

Oh I am so right there with you all! I am 5 weeks post op tomorrow and going in for my post-op appointment and I have only lost 3 lbs since I last saw my surgeon (a month ago). Total I have lost about 25 lbs. but nothing is happening on my scale. I am taking in 600-800 cals and I have been walking daily. I am getting 50-70 grams of protien and watching my carb intake. I was told I need more calories, maybe about 1,000 to get out of the plateau. I don't care what the scale tells me, I feel better everyday and I am noticing my clothes are fitting more and more comfortable. I am just trying to keep the positive attitude and after tomorrow's Dr. visit I should be released to go into a more vigorous exercise routine that I was already doing pre-op so hopefully that is going to get that stubborn scale moving downward. Don't give up! The weight will come off we just need patience and a positive attitude!!
  4. I am one month post op today as well. I am about 23-25 lbs down, I have been fluctuating but started my more vigorous walking this week and it seems to be helping me get out of this plateau. I am seeing the inches come off though which is exciting, I fit into a lot of clothes that were ridiculously tight on me. I am still doing soft foods, fork tender stuff which seems to be going well. Crackers and LF cream cheese go down really easy when I am famished. I do seem to be getting hungry like every 3-4 hours some days but I snack on LF yogurts, cottage cheese and more nourishing foods like that if it's in between meal time.

    What Did I Do?

You should be fine. Every Dr. is different and of course we all should follow our own surgeon's guidelines. My surgeon has 2 weeks of fluids and then 4 weeks of soft or mushies and believe it or not lunch meat (low fat/preferably low sodium) is on my list. My fiance's Dr. had him on that same list 10 days post op. Chewing is the key! Until it gets super mushy in your mouth I wouldn't swallow. Also, super tiny bites has been working for me. Good luck to you on the rest of your journey and don't be too hard on yourself.
  6. I am 3 1/2 weeks out. My Dr. put me on Nexium and it seems to be working. I eat a lot more comfortable with the pills than my fiance did when he was on his mushy phase (he never took his Nexium). Even water goes down much more comfortably with it, I just hope I don't have to take it forever.

    4 Days Post Op

I had that problem with cold Water my first week post op. I started drinking everything room temperature and I also started taking Nexium and that has been a major plus. I hope I won't have to take it forever but for now it helps me even stomach water better. I didn't take the pain meds and I also had trouble swallowing the pills so I just dealt with the pain and soreness. By the second week you'll see some big differences in the way fluids settle and how much more comfortable you will be. I hated the first week, but I honestly felt so much better by day 7. Others on this website kept telling me I would and I didn't believe them. lol Good Luck on the rest of your journey! I am glad this website is here...it's been a blessing.

    Sleeping On Your Tummy

I slept on my tummy last night for the first time. I am 17 days post op. I have a bad habit of stretching myself while I am half asleep and that did hurt my belly. :/
  9. So sorry you are going through this, really that any of you went through this period. It's hard enough dealing with the lifestyle changes as it is than having to go through all this drama. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and please keep us updated on your condition and know that you are not alone.

    One Day Til My Sleeve!

Best wishes SmilinGal! Keep that positive attitude...you're gonna do great!!
  11. Oh this is a good read. I'm still I'm fluids but I'm seeing my surgeon tomorrow where he may put me on the soft phase and I'm really terrified of how much to eat, Or if I'll know when I'm satisfied. I'm scared to eat too fast or too of big of bites. liquids are easy cause I know what I should be having with my Water intake but real food yikes!

    I Am A Failure

Omg im scared for you. I'm 5 days post op and I'm so afraid of what hits my pouch. Please don't take any risks, your stomach isn't even completely healed yet and those solids so early in recovery can't be good for you. I'm struggling with the foods that have been brought around me the past few days but that's all in our head! Our stomach or pouch isn't craving it. It's that kind of mentality that got us doing a surgery like this to begin with. I would never want to have put my body through all this just to cheat myself especially so early in the game. Well the first step was admitting you are wrong so let's hope it's uphill from here. Take care Girlie and good luck to you! You are strong! You can beat the cravings and leave those bad habits in the past where they belong.
  15. I was just sleeved on 2/14 as well. I am using measuring cups to keep up with how many ounces I take in. I will have a cup of room temperature Smart Water(has electrolytes which is a major plus) and another cup filled with Powerade Zero which also has electrolytes. I couldn't take in cold Water the first few days so the room temp water really has helped. Just take small sips of whatever you can tolerate. I take turns drinking between the 2 and that helps also.

    One Day Til My Sleeve!

Good luck! Stay positive and yes the first week is rough. I'm day 5 post op and I will admit I'm still in regret mode but everyday gets better. Whatever feelings you may have just know that you are not alone and you will be in a good place a couple of days or weeks.
  17. Hey everybody I was sleeved 2/14 and I've been okay with the Water and Powerade zero to back it up. Today I started my chewable Multivitamins which went down pretty good. I also started 30 grams of Protein in an 8 oz. serving which I've only had 2 oz. of. Not cool! My biggest problem is I got some sort of allergic reaction yesterday to something, which I think was lactose related. I have a rash all over my stomach area and my thighs and back of my arms. The arm rash went away but my tummy rash looks even worse. I really hate having to call te Dr. Over the weekend but I'm getting kind of paranoid about it. I'm not all sensitive about soaps or foods usually so this is weird. I wonder if I can take Benadryl or something?? I can't wait to get over this funk, the recovery would be so much better. Good news is I lost 13 pounds since last Saturday but sometimes I feel like all this is not even worth it.
  18. I'm sooo nervous I've scared myself nauseous! Just got my belly shot and waiting for them to come take off my polish. I wish I knew I couldn't have polish on cause I wouldn't have spent 50 bucks on a mani/pedi 3 days ago. what a bummer, I hope that's my only complaint. I don't want drama!
  19. As long as you have the circulation leg wraps you should be ok. My boyfriend had his last month and he only walked 2 times that first day because he was so groggy with pain meds. Make sure they take you at least one more time tonight.
  20. Happy you are in recovery and i hope you continue on an anyi-drama pace . I can't wait to get there. I am on fluids today waiting to check into the hospital tonight. My surgery is at 7:30 am. I already have a bad headache (maybe lack of food). I don't want to take anything until I get there. I am super nervous but am keeping my faith that everything will turn out fine. I will check with everyone tomorrow, Lord willing. God bless and I'm looking forward to being on the losers bench soon!
  21. Prayers to all of you on a speedy recovery! I will be right behind ya on the 14th.
