  1. WHATS WRONG WITH THE CHAT????????

  2. Thats so sweet to be so supportive. I know what helped me through the breakdown was that my hubby sat down and started thinking of things we could have together...like soup. We went to the store together and shopped for things to share, and it really took the stress away because he was sort of adapting to me. Its hard at first when you have people scarfing down foods that you love (in my case my kids). But remind him he can always chew and spit! Took a long time for that go get figured out, but just know that with the band, after the first week or so, you get use to what you can have and crave what you can have more than what you cant. And i know that he will have amazing support with a wife like you, who will undoubtedly compliment his weight loss and be by his side!

  6. I thought it was a little too easy as well. I pulled up BCBS requirements. Went down the list, did psych eval, nutritionist to make sure i understood the after-diet. Typed letters of emotional support from family, got mwdical records proving weight 2 years back, made a list of diets for the nutritionist. got pcp (who is actually internal medicine specializing in respiratory) to sign a letter of necessity. Sent bcbs a copy of blood panel showing no thyroid problems. Got approved same day it was sent in. Had surgery 2 weeks ago. down 15.5lbs!

2 Months Post Op, May Be Pregnant

It would be a good idea to contact your doctor and tell the nurse...they would be able to tell you what to do. They say not so soon because the port is attached to your abdominal wall, and your muscles stretch with a pregnancy, as im sure you know. But its best to be safe and give them a heads up
  23. I was recently diagnosed ith bipolar/manic depression. I had thought about lapband before, but never this seriously. My mom had the procedure in 2005, and I have seen first hand the struggle and success. I want to be a healthier and hopefully happier me. I was wondering if anyone else w bipolar has had the procedure, and if so, how it has affected their depression? Im on an arsenal of medications to battle it, but am wondering if after lapband the meds could or would be reduced? Any help would be appreciated. Also windering if anyone was banded in Louisiana, or how much cash pay in the south would be? Im funding with my tax return
  24. Calling insurance tomorrow and finding out if they will cober surgery...if not, im cash paying! :) this WILL happen...but cash pay is 14,700 NOT including fills
