  1. The atkins advantage milk chocolate is really good.
  2. I was going to a Zumba class that was offered at my gym at work and loved it. its a great workout but a lot of fun.
  3. Hello all, I am having my surgery done on the 26th I was approved by insurance last week and I did not lose any weight during my 6 month diet. I maintained, which I am actually thrilled about, but didn't lose any. I have BCBSTX. good luck to everyone!!
  4. I've decided to tell everybody! I don't care what others think and most everyone has been incredibly supportive about my decision. I only had one person tell me he thought I was taking the easy way and I basicly said "first of all its not easy and second even if it was what the hell is wrong with that?" I'm super excited I get banded this Thursday. The pre-op diet is sucking. I'm ready to change my life! Good luck to everyone !
  5. My date is the 26th. very excited but nervous too.
  6. Hello all, want to introduce myself, I just was approved for my surgery for next week. I am excited but so scared also!:smile2: this is going to be a wild ride!
  7. Yeah, don't let those sites freak you out about the band, especially when they are trying to convince people to go with the MGB procedure. Its a horrible marketing ploy. I have not been banded yet but I am convinced this is the procedure for me. I really don't like the idea of someone hacking up my guts. At least this leaves my bowels intact. LOL
  8. I quit smoking too, and because I know how hard it is I would never, ever be mean or cruel about someone smoking. We all have our vices and some people need to learn to lay off.
  9. this is way too harsh and if you are on this site then you probably have a issue with your weight, so saying something like that would be like a skinny person telling you to quit eating... not for yourself but for the people that have to look at you!!!! Smoking is an addiction and its very difficult to quit, especially when you are trying to change your eating habits. Just FYI your comment was not cool.
  10. Lafrog... with bcbs texas did you have 6 months of dr supervised diets?
  11. I have BCBS Texas UT select. Any one else have this and what was your experience with them. I go for my first consult today.
  12. Hi there! I'm from Houston as well and I am also 29. I go for my consult today at AIGB/true results. Where did you have your surgery at and do you have any suggestions/advice. I'm nervous and excited all at once. I am hoping my insurance won't be a problem.
  13. I am trying to find a surgeon in the Houston area. Thera are many large surgery centers that you see advertised a lot and I am going to one of the informational seminars on Sat. I have called and left messages with about 3 of them in Houston and I am dissapointed to say that I haven't even been responded to. This makes me uneasy about these places. If you were banded in the Houston area and liked your surgeon please respond with your reccomendations. Thanks so much!
  14. Hello everyone! Just wanted to post something to introduce myself. I am 29 years old and live in Houston TX. I have finally made the decision to start the process to have Lap Band surgery. I have really enjoyed this forum it has helped me get my nerve up. I don't have a surgery date yet and I am scheduled for a consultation. It is going to be such a huge lifestyle change but I am ready! I am about 6 feet tall and about 120 lbs over weight right now. Its crazy how quickly it can spiral out of control. I don't have any health problems as of yet and I would like to keep it that way. I have always been very active. I work 2 jobs and go to school and in the last year my weight has started slowing me down and I don't like it!! So after many months of talking myself into it and then out of it I have decided to go for it! I am still trying to decide who I want to tell and who I think will be supportive and not try to convince me not to do it. I'm nervous about the insurance coverage the most. I think with BCBS TX I will have to have a supervised diet for 6 months and I am so ready to start the process now!! But I know in the long run 6 months is nothing. I'm am very excited about my decision and any advice/comments are greatly appreciated.
