    Proteins to Eat?

I found this list of high protein foods and thought I would post it for you.... (you can find many more other foods with protein) such as cheese, reduced fat, ricotta part skim, etc....) Your best bet is also to always read the nutritional facts so you are getting adequate proteins for the day. If i don't reach my protein for the day I would find it in other foods or add it to my foods so that it adds up at the end of the day. Happy 2013 Challenge!!

Jenn, doing the happy dance for ya!!!!!
  4. I just asked my surgeon last week what future test will I get or need. He told me on my first year band anniversary (July 25, 2013) I will have a full panel blood work and xrays. I already had blood work done from my own PCP 2 weeks ago, I didn't want to wait a year for blood work. I will repeat the same bloodwork in July. **Note, if I had concerns about my band prior to a year I would address it with my surgeon so he could take precautions***

Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

awww your little baby girls is so precious

But most of that is probably water ***RANT***

Same goes for weight loss surgery, they seem to think we took the 'easy' way out, as if we don't have to do anything and the weight will magically fall off.....
  9. I think the majority here can vouch for not having looked like we weighed that much. I am one of those too! even now at my weight I don't look like I would weight this much, but I do and the scale doesn't lie! 1 hip replaced already, the other one needs to be replaced, high blood pressure (controlled), yea, so even though I might not looked like I weighed a lot, the weight was deteriorating my insides/joints. I am keeping my knees, LOL

Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

Which is a great idea to do,(play around with your carb numbers) I guess you can say I found a magic number (for now) that works for me. Now, if I hit another plateau, I am going right back to carb cycling, the old fashion way....LOL

    Happy 2013 Challenge!!

I think getting weighed in last Thursday at the doctors office messed me up here, no weight loss as of today. I am going to check in on Thursday if that is okay? Still the same weight, but it isn't a full week for me yet, LOL

    No Exercise

I want to add that since exercising... 1. I feel great 2. I have more energy 3. I sleep better 4. I am losing a lot of inches 5. My body is shaping/forming 6. My skin glows ( I don't know if this is exaggeration, but I can see it in my face)

    2 1/2 months...down 49lbs :)

Great results! You deff got the concept of this and the best part is you don't deprive yourself, but in moderation. See, that is the way to do this and make it work for LIFE!! That is key, this is not a temporary fix. I am also very fortunate I can eat everything (no fills). I always say whatever works for YOU! My surgeon happens to agree, he is always saying to me "whatever you are doing is obviously working" keep doing it! There is no reason in the world to make yourself suffer or deprived when it comes to food, we just know we have to have 'control' over the food, and not food over us! We take control, we make it work! goooo get em girl!!!!!

    Don't Quit...

Don't Quit When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down, And you feel like the biggest failure in town. When you want to give up just because you gave in, and forget all about being healthy and thin. So What! You went over your points a bit, It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit! It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change. It's learning the skills to get back in your range. It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now. You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow." It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal. You're still gonna make it, just stay in control. To stumble and fall is not a disgrace, If you summon the will to get back in the race. But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip, Just throw in the towel and continue to slip. And learn too late when the damage is done, that the race wasn't over...they still could have won. Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow, but facing each challenge will help you grow. Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint in a cloud of doubt. When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit, If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit! ~ Author Unknown ~

    Chicken and Spinach Casserole

Beth, You are absolutely right! It does taste just like spinach artichoke dip... I love that it is nice and moist, makes it super band friendly especially for those who have a hard time with meat. I am going to use the same concept of this recipe and make it with eggplant?? why not!!! LOL Thanks Beth, glad you enjoyed!!!

    Getting a Fill?

I have to agree with Missy on this. Why fix something that isn't broke. You are doing excellent with your weight loss and not for nothing but 4 lbs a month is really great! Don't rush the weight loss with fills that are unecessarily needed, you could do more harm if anything, and just like Missy said, getting fills has nothing to do with losing more weight. Keep up the great job!

6 months in and titallt disgusted

You have to ask yourself if you are unhappy with your surgeon, you deff. need to make some arrangements in finding one who will listen and help you with all your needs. You will read many many of us who love our surgeons, have great rapport with them, and we are all doing successfully well. I think having a surgeon who actually cares makes a huge difference in the world. Don't ever give up! Remember you still have a tool that can be worked with, you just need the right guidence along the way. I wish you the very best,
  23. I want to be able to walk for hours long without pain. I miss those days where I was able to walk from one length of the Jersey Shore boardwalk and back with no problem. I want to be able to go back down to Disney World and walk, instead of using the scooter. I want to be able to ride a bicycle, or maybe roller skate. So many things I look forward to doing again, Its mostly physical activities that will be challenging, but the end reward will be to actually accomplish these simple tasks that we take for granted every day, that is what I mostly look forward to....

    Chicken and Spinach Casserole

CG, I was thinking of this, the texture is moist/soft I would be afraid it would fall or mush out of the tins. However, that would of been a great idea for this recipe if otherwise. I will have to find some muffin tin recipes and try them out. Hope that helped
