  1. I went on vacation and eat out all week and even though I couldn’t (Thank God) go overboard I did eat things that I would normally avoid, (ice cream, sausage, bread) and I eat to my maximum full felling every time. Now I’m home and all I can think about is food, I even went so far as to have a 2 slices of pizza and 1 ½ pop tarts one day!!! This is crazy stuff that I haven’t had since the surgery. I’m focusing on getting back into my post op strategy H20, Protein shake, planned meals but it’s hard…just posting this for moral support…Thanks everyone! PS I also had a NSV with the plane seat... I fit with plenty of room and no fear of spilling over to the seat next to me and I wore shorts which I haven’t done in decades!

    Underland!

Saturday I made it to underland I am 199.4. I thought it would never happen for me and I was actually telling myself if I never get there that I’ll be fine with the weight that I’ve lost so far. Well now that I’m here I’m back in the game, ready to focus on my goal, my doctor would like to see me at 160 but I think that I might be comfortable at 180 or 175, but this might just be me doubting that I’ll ever be 160 and healthy. What a journey this has been, what a trip. No regrets I love my sleeve and I could not have made it this far on my own. I hope you all are doing well thanks for the support.

    Freaking Out

I think we are all different. I just came back from Honduras and I had no issues eating locale foods, although I admit this was a concern that I had. I really haven’t had any issues with foods. In the 1st few months I didn’t like meats but now that‘s not an issue. The only problem that I had when I was traveling was not being able to eat all the yummy foods, 4 bites in and I’m done….
  5. What an inspiration you are, I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to watch your progress through VST. Congratulations!

    Being Treated Different By Strangers

I agree it is sad but true, IDT it is in your head.

    Make Me Feel Better!

IDT that it is possible that you stretched it out this 1 time, although you did just find out about a bad habit that will allow you to eat more. I suggest going back to no eating 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after drinking. Don’t be hard on yourself you are learning new habits and it takes time.

    Why ?

You are still so new, it gets better, right now be kind to yourself and I like the suggestion of drinking tea, but also try to treat yourself lovingly without food. There are going to be days that you have to cry its ok its part of the process. Take it easy on yourself.

    Running Nsv

That is so awesome what an inspiration. I have just this past weekend started a walk/jog routine and I can’t believe that I am doing it! I was never physical and I hated pushing myself past my comfort point before, but post surgery is all about redefining myself and so far so good. The only problem that I have today is my legs hurt…

    Finally Feeling Better.

Welcome sounds like you are doing well, I would recommend getting some yoga pants to wear around the house while you recover, I had a pair of black ones and I was able to wear them to work without looking to bad…LOL! Keep us posted on your progress.

    Extreme Head Hunger!

The 1st few weeks I mourned food and really had to remind myself why I did this. I used to watch a lot of food network show, man vs. food and dinners drive- ins and dives and live vicariously with the host's eating adventures. All I can say is that time heals. Take this time to focus on your relationship with food and try to figure out your triggers. For years I thought I was just a stress eater now I know that I eat when board…sounds silly but I didn’t realize this before. give it time...

I agree with everyone who posted. Don’t give up, it is frustrating but try to use the additional time to prepare for a lifestyle change like no other. You will get there in time…good luck!

    Non Supportive Primary Care Doctor

My PCP was also not 100% supportive she is still kind of leery of WLS. The funny thing is that she was recommended by the bariatric center because my original PCP was horrible. Most people who haven’t traveled down the road that we are on just can’t wrap their heads around how much we struggled and why we decided that we needed this type of support. Oh well, I suggest that if your PCP makes you feel defeated that you look of a new one. Put out a post to see if anyone has a recommendation on this site for you.

Yes I went through this also but it settled down after a few months, somewhere at the end of the 2nd month, hang in there.
