  1. I'm risking getting flamed here, but I don't know how much is in my band. It honestly doesn't matter to me. I have a ten cc band and have had 9 fills since my surgery date of 12/12/11. I've gone from 310 to 242 with very few complaints and nice slow, steady weight loss. Happy chick!

That being said, I'm now into the "red zone" and need my first unfill.

[ Thought about it and requested my medical records about the lap band just so that I'll have a copy in case I change doctors or (someday) need to read them :-) ]

Talked to the nurse and she recommended Prevacid and I was able to sleep thru the night last night ~ amazing! Staying on a soft mushies diet until the adjustment.

  2. Called my surgeons office since I've started with night coughing and heartburn since my last fill. So, it's back to liquids & mushies until Wednesday when I am scheduled to go in for my first unfill.

22 months banded and still happy that I chose the band. I haven't had many adjustments but just the fact that it can be adjusted was deciding factor for me.

Curious if others do more seesawing back and forth than my experience?

  3. I've been going to counseling and also attending an Emotional Eating group since my band surgery. I wish I had done it prior!

No longer using food to sedate myself, to "stuff" down my emotions has led to some trying times. But I'm learning how to cope. I hope you can find help too...

  4. Ok so it's good to know that the hiccup pain is not just me. I was getting ready to go to the ER until I read this thread. Today, I'm a week post op and the gas in my core has subsided, but now I'm feeling gassy in my belly. I guess I will start the Gas-X treatment as it seems to work for everyone else here. Is this going to be a permanent thing (Needing Gas-X)?

I'm also noticing pain when taking deep breaths and also pain with an uncomfortable reflex in my esophagus every now and then. It almost feels like indigestion but without the burn. I'm wondering how this is happening since I've only been drinking Protein shakes, Water and powdered Soups.< /p>

Perhaps the Protein Shakes are causing the gas in your stomach? Different brands/types use different forms of Protein and can have different effects (gas, bloating, etc).

Hoping each day is better than the one before!

  5. Okay, so I had my surgery on December the 9th the first few days I was pretty bad. The following day after surgery I went back to the hospital because i literally felt that I was going to faint! Anyways they kept me over night and was released the next day each day I feel better and better which I am so greatful for!

Sometimes I get painful pain on my top left abdomen when I get hiccups, but like I said each day os better!

So Here I am more than a week post op and I am down 19 pounds! Starting from 286 to now 267 is this normal? Am I loosing weight too fast?

I also started at 286 and have my first post op this coming Thursday. Woohoo!!! My surgery date was 12/12/11.

Hope each day is better for you,

    Jacki
