I have not been able to do milk for years now, but found that the Almond milk and Coconut milk work great in shakes and for drinking. I really like the unsweetened Almond milk on my Cereal and in coffee and coco.
I slept a lot the first 2 days, but reading on here it is part of the process your body needs to heal. You have been though the mill and your body is responding the only way it knows how (SLEEP).
I also found that if I ate yogurt it helped with the gas, I still get it from time to time depending on what I eat.
Congrats on your new stomach (surgery)
Hope this helps some.

What was your starting weight? I am 6 weeks out and had a gain last week of 2 lbs I freaked out. (see gained and freaking) I started this journey at 341 in September, by surgery December 12 I weighted 337, and am now today down to 291. I have realized it is not about the weight but the inches also, yes I gained but still had lost inches(3.5 inches lost) for the week. Our bodies change so much in a matter of a week it is just amazing.
Keep your chin up and try not to be bummed out it will get better.
Look at old pics of your self and see how far you have come in just a short time hopefully that will help get rid of the bummed feeling.

I was able to handle the mushy stage only because I ate runny mash potatoes, mushed banana's and mostly puree food. tuna, chicken, pork didn't like the new stomach but corn beef hash mushed with a fork did and I ate alot of it.. Beans of any kind mushed were easy to handle also.
I just started a week and a half ago on real food and I had to slow my eating down because of that lump in the throat feeling (still eating slow).

My surgery was Dec 12, 2011. I am 1 month post op and still from time to time have gas pains. They do go away I promise but as for how long it takes is different for each of us. It took about 4 days for mine to be gone from surgery, now it just depends on what I eat or drink.
You just need to remember that your BODY has gone through a great ordeal and will take time to heal itself. Chin up it does get better.
Congratulations on having Gastric Sleeve Surgery.

I am 3 3/4 week out and am eating mushy foods. Peanut Butter, cream cheese, chicken salad, tuna salad, (both just with mayo). I love mashed potatoes made from califlower (? spelling) split pea Soup with ham, potato salad creamy potatoe soup, chili no meat. I have even had braunswager with cream cheese, eggs and corn beef hash, anything I can mush to nothing with my fork. I was told by doc to chew it until applesauce consist in mouth. I measure everything 4oz's only Hope this gives you some Ideas for foods.

I hate that feeling like it is right there in the throat ready to run up at any given minute. I was like the first few days then started spacing my meals (liquid shake) had am shake around 9 lunch shake at 2 and dinner shake at 7 and then late night hot coco Protein rich at around 11. Give some time between liquids so your new stomach can digest it all.
You will not go to the bathroom as much until you can get more liquid down, but DON'T PUSH IT it will come.
Your body has gone through so much and needs time to heal and adjust to your new stomach. The swelling will also go down in time just remember how much you have gone through.
Normal is not always what everyone else has gone through we are all different, we all have had something like what you are going through.
Don't worry about asking a ton of questions, that is way these boards were created, to give answers and make friends in the process.
Hope all goes well at your doctor appointment, let them know of your concerns they are also there to help while going through your journey.
-
I had my sleeve done on the 12th of December. My first week was all Protein shakes and Protein Water, I was told to put protein in everything I drank.
They also said no pills only liquid forms of them LOL couldn't find liquid forms for any of them but the pain pill that melts in your mouth.
It is hard to get everything in so don't feel bad if you can't. My dr office wants 80-100oz of liquid a day and 90gm of protein I am lucky if I drink that much
each of us are different but don't beat your self up if you can't get it all in.
I found that the protein liquid drinks helped and then I found GNC had these little bottels of protein called Protein Shots they are wonderful for getting in that needed protein.
Sip and sip and sip and sip some more is what worked for me getting the liquid in but it took a while. 2oz at a time at first.
You should call your Doctors office and ask how much they want you to take in of each protein and Water, I would also ask about the medication.
Good luck on your journey and Happy losing.

I am only 17 days post op and have found that foods that didn't like me before surgery still don't like me. tuna gives me heartburn so bad I wish I was dead. I have tried cracker dust and bread in Soups and as long as I let them soak I care eat it. Most of the things that gave me heartburn before still do after so I stay away from them right now.
-
Wow I am so sorry, here is what I have been doing maybe it might help,
I walk every other day (small walks) half a block, drink everything (Water, Vitamin Water, juice (lemon, lime, orange, grape)
1 mushy meal in am and a shake for the other 2 meals
then late night when hunger hits I make a hot coco Protein rich.
70-90gm Protein and at least 80-100oz of liquid.
I am only 17 days post op.

This list is awesome. Put in to micro soft word there are 197 drinks in this list. You are so wonderful to share this great LIFE saver with all of us.

I am second week also and have found that a cup of hot coco Protein rich really helps in the evenings along with 2oz of Jello mixed with the Calcium powder, sugar free of course.
-
My first day was horrible after surgery I woke with a fat lip, left side of my face was puffy and I hurt so bad. The nurses said it was because of the tube they put in so I could breath.
Dr Atkinson from Las Vegas did my surgery Monday afternoon
I am having trouble with the Protein Powder, can't get use to the taste.
