Hi I have lost about 5 stone so far, I really going to try hard this Christmas not to pile it all back on again this has been my mistake for years. Yes i phone the europesurgery office as well sometimes just to check out about after care dates, And I called them a couple of times at the start when i was not sure what you could eat.Really I am surprised that anyone books with anyone else because some of the Uk hospitals have such a bad press for aftercare. For me going to Brussels was just 2 hours on the train from London and now I have all my aftercare in london.

hi he is really good when you go for the fills everyone sits in the waiting room in manchester and chats about there band. Everyone is really pleased with how chris treats then, he is very intelligent you can tell when you talk to him, not known anyone complain everything about there trip to brussels. You only have to do the x ray once a year I don't think the cost is too bad other companies are charging a lot more for there aftercare packages at least you only have to give the money every now and again whenever you go and not another lump sum.

I think you are meant to get a x ray once a year but I only had my band fitted last christmas time so not had one yet. I guess when you go for a fill they will tell you then if they think you need it,?hazrd there are not many blokes on here i guess its us women who like to chat on forums finding out stuff but hey jion in! its nice to have some men on here.

hi i booked with europe surgery as well there just a UK office that you can call before and after you I booked with Europe surgery as well its just a UK office you can call before and after having the band with chris. It does make it easier if you get stuck on what you should or should not eat or when you should have your fill you just call them. Anyway you can ask people on here as well, everyone wants to help each other we all just want to lose weight.

I really glad its working out for you! i must admit i felt the difference even after the first fill maybe my stomach was still a bit swollen after the surgery? anyway my weight too has been slowly coming off since Christmas.

what kind of iphone app have you got?I have an i phone i was wondering if there where any good diet apps on there because i do use a few apps on the phone which have been very good.My friend was showing me a app last time that you can put on your phone to tell when your fertile for baby making..Thats why i am trying to lose the weight to have the babies.

Hi Jane thanks for your support on here, I have just added you as a friend on facebook you ave started at about the same BMI as myself and I am really hoping I do as good as you. Maybe I should get a dog too!I don't think my husband would approve he is a bit of a clean house freak, But i have always wanted one. I am hoping for me this is what i really need I have put a stone on a year for the last 6 years, it just been slowly creeping on. The people who I work with are all big eaters far too many cakes come in to the office for us all to share!

it seems that taking vitamins are important during the whole process! i think i look for a slimming shake that contains them at the same time. Anyway I started to lose weight and don't feel that hungry at the moment so I am still glad that i done it! There was no way I was going to do it on my own I been trying to lose weight for years.

yes i got the heliogastband as well and its at about 8 mils that seem about right for me at the moment it was free for me too from midi train station to vilooorde on the train, its no nother just platform 20 to villoorde after you get off the euro star train. but i go for band fills in london organised by europe surgery.

Thanks mummies for posting this I just joined Dr Chris facebook page and seem your pictures! got to say well done! You are giving me hope for a lighter me! I have only just been to Belgium and had it done. I agree with happy flower Chris is very calming and kind and you feel totally that he knows what he is doing. Really Belgium not far I just got the eurostar I live in london and it took 2 hours so really was just like going to Birmingham or Nottingham for the op but loads cheaper. You worry about going abroad but when the aftercare is here and they have a UK office you can call for free advice when your no sure of things you can't really ask for any more. I would prefer to travel for the operation to know I am getting a good surgeon. some of the uk band hospitals don't even say which surgeon your going to get who knows if there just newly trained? Anyway the hospital was great very modern. did anyone else notice they sold alcohol in the restaurant down stairs? lol not that I had any myself !but my boyfriend was really happy to find it there I think it calmed his nerves a bit. Anyway it was lovely the nurses where so kind.

Booked for the 26th jan :0 well happy just sorted it and got all the money together..I hope just borrowing the last few hundred now! i not sure about the milk only diet probably because i dont like milk that much and never really have. but read into it, some surgeons seem to like it and others don't. One thing i read about it was it was starvation diet, really not sure i want to make myself really weak before surgery, i had a cold before christmas and it lasted about 4 weeks! i don't want another. I just got the email back from europe surgery and it says low fat diet and then we are on liquids only for 10 days after the procedure, if we do liquid only for 2 weeks before that going to be a month without solids i think its too much for me. I going to phone the office in the Uk and check but as i don't even like milk i probably will not go for it. But thanks anyway its good to hear what people are doing.

Can i ask how much food you can eat? large plate of food ? small plate? just to give me an idea of what i am letting myself in for? lol

i booked directly too with europe surgery , through i don't think it matters where you book the price is the same and you get hotels. I was going to go the same week as you but i am just a little worried that i have not quite got enough money so i am holding back until i get all of it through, but i let you know if i am going to make it the same time as you because it would be nice to know someone from here there its great to hear from all u ladies!
