  1. You need a balance between blissful ignorance and obsessing over the numbers. For some people weighing every day is detrimental and causes stress. But then if you swing wild the other way, you lose track of how effective your daily routine is. It's good to be in the "reality check" area. Weighing on occasion is good.
  2. Three weeks after surgery I stalled for 6 weeks. I thought I was going to lose my mind. I was doing E V E R Y T H I N G perfectly. The scale would not budge. I decided my body just needed to do whatever it needs to do to adjust at that point. It did too.

    Dreading The Dmv

Yup, just get it done, stuff it in your purse and only take it out when you have to knowing that it's going to be really different later. (been there, done that.) I broke down crying on the guy at DMV one time because my picture was so bad. He retook it!! (it didn't make me any thinner though;) ) On the weight section, my license has said "199" for about 15 years! I told the lady one time that it's about 150 lbs off, and she said "awwww just leave it like that, it sounds better. wink wink" Very UNdmv-like! LOL Try not to stress about it.

    6 Week Stall

Yes. Virtually everyone. Please just keep doing what you're doing, and it will all happen in its own good time. I promise. Do not freak out about this, it will pass. Chuck your scale for a while. Even when you start downward again, you will bounce a little up and a lot down...ad nauseum. No worries.

    What Happens If....?

Are you asking what will happen if you do not follow the rules? (just clarifying) If that is the case... don't worry. you will not want to eat anyway. It is VERY unsafe to break the rules in the early stages. The rules are there for your safety. Follow them to the letter. PLEASE. If you are asking something different, please say so.
  6. Hated Bariatric Advantage. PUKE. GROSS. AWFUL. I still feel like yarging when I even try to remember the taste. Had to give them away.

    A Little Sad

Au contraire, mon frere!!! Wait until you have lost all the weight you want to lose and are well on your way in maintenance. Your capacity will have increased a bit at this point, so you have to be careful, but you CAN enjoy "normal" meals. Just much smaller. I've had some very delicious food recently, and had to give half of it to my husband, but that works out (he's skinny already;) ) You can INDEED enjoy a food trip. It will just take you longer. Don't they server much smaller portions out there anyway? (depending on the country...) People have linked true food enjoyment with pigging out and stuffing the stomach to bursting. With the sleeve you realize that food is even more enjoyable in smaller amounts with a varied selection.

    Death And Cornbread Dressing....

Wow. She was YOUNG!! You made it sound like she was like...98! (My mom is 73) I'm sorry for your loss also NOw....the dressing....DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!! You behave yourself young lady. The rules are for your safety this early on. Now git on out there and...drink your drinks.
  11. G2, Powerade Zero, and Mott's for Tott's low sugar apple juice were my favorites that first week. A little broth. Not much else. Only about 4 oz of the juice per day though. I used it as a chaser for the liquid Vicodin, or even mixed it together to help swallow it down. I chewed on ice constantly because the cold felt good down there.

    Sushi

I tell you, I don't substitute a thing! I loooove my sushi. I can only eat about 6 or 7 pieces of a roll (depending on the cuts) and that teeny bit of rice has not set me back at all. it's just my carbs for the day mostly. That said....I only have sushi a couple times a month. It's a little pricey here in the desert!
  16. WHATEVER YOU DO.......do NOT eat anything with MALTITOL (sugar substitute). Unless you enjoy pooping your pants about 30 minutes later. OH. MY. GOSH.... Horrific. Then again a few minutes later, and then the rest of the night....

    Funeral For Hair?

Here's the thing...it will thin, then grow in some, then thin some more, then grow in again...it cycles. I'm nine months out, and it's still doing it. My hair is below my shoulders, so I've taken to putting it up in a pony tail, then flipping it through and curling it and kinda ratting up the top to make it all look poofier. It's working well, because I refuse to cut my hair. I'm just going to hang out and wait for the new growth to come again. When the weight loss is over I'll still have my hair. Just a thought.
  18. My brain has adjusted to the 97 pound loss finally. Now I feel fat again. Stupid brain! Maybe that will motivate me to lose the next 92

  19. HOORAAAYYYY!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
