  1. Yes, it is normal. Here's my warning to you: Do NOT let your diet slip out of frustration. I was in a stall and it has lasted almost 6 weeks. I recently started re evaluating my food and realized I was slipping into a dangerous zone and my weight was just maintaining. The scale has started moving again when I cut back on some things. My "normal" stall turned into "dead in the water." That doesn't happen to everyone, but it CAN. So, just beware. That is all...

    Bariatric Advantage

I ordered a bunch of BA vitamins. I had to give away the chewable multivitamins. To this day, if I even IMAGINE taking them, I feel like I'm going to throw up. They are wretched, horrible vitamins. The calcium wasn't much better. Gave it away too. I still want to find a bariatric specific vitamin I can stomach, now that I can swallow pills.

    Why Doesn't Anyone Say Anything?

I think most people are too self-involved to notice until it's like.....almost a hundred. There have been a couple people at our church over the years that lost a bunch of weight and I looked one day and thought.."wait a minute...he used to be HUGE! What happened?" Then I'd say something, and they'd be like "ya, I lost 90 pounds!" Well, don't I feel the perfect fool! Sometimes it takes a while for people to snap.

    Completely Terrified

You won't die. You WILL lose weight.. and ya...you might miss food for a while. But what has it ever gotten you? Momentary pleasure, yes. And weight loss surgery. Just change your thinking right now. You will do GREAT!!! Your new stomach will help you through.

    Super Saturday Weigh In

I start from my pre op diet weight, because if I did not have the surgery scheduled, I would not have lost that 15 pounds beforehand, so I count it as "surgery" loss.

Day 64 And Day 65 - Stalled And Freaked Out

Don't feel bad. I've been stalled for five weeks! I'm about to scream!! Today, i think I'm actually down... It's terrible thinking you've had surgery to lose 45 pounds when I need to lose 200! I know that's not true though. Your upcoming trip will undoubtedly take a few off of you. It's hard to keep up with your intake on a trip.

    Super Saturday Weigh In

I don't want to get too excited yet, but I THINK.....after FIVE weeks of nothingness...I may be down a few pounds. I'm holding my breath the next couple days to see if it's real! I really scaled back on my intake and logging, and I think it's doing something...

    Defeating The Vsg

Yep, slow and steady....keep grazing on the Krispy Kremes around the clock. Invest in the finest, highest fat chocolate and nibble away. One ounce at a time. No need to even stretch the stomach. Forget the protein, go STRAIGHT for the refined, white flour items. Especially ones that are sugar laden. That's how I put it all on the first time. Bleh.
  11. Went to the zoo on Tuesday, and it was 86 degrees. I just looked at the forecast and Sunday there is a chance of SNOW! Crazy crazy.

  12. Stacy, I know how you feel about the coffee!! My surgeon said I can have my coffee in moderation- One cup a day. Some days (rarely) i do have two. You have to try this: "SO" makes a coconut coffee creamer. It comes in plain and two flavors. Don't get the flavors, they have too much sugar. The plain does NOT make your coffee taste like coconut. It just tastes creamy and delicious and there are NO carbs and only 10 calories!! It is awesome! I use either Truvia (made from stevia, but tastes MUCH better and still safe) or one spoon of organic sugar. That's only a few calories in the grand scheme of the day too. (my one sugar indulgence).
  13. Interesting. So some days you do really low carbs, then a day or two you throw some more in? Dang. The weight is FALLING off of you Capt Derel!! Something's gotta work. I'm starting to despair. I think I'm getting myopic about it though. Thanks for the advice. Will try that.
  14. I am stalled like a Beemer full of diesel... :(

  15. I'm two months out also. I eat right. I go to the gym 3x a week. I've been stalled for five.......long......weeks. I'm convinced I'm never going to lose any more weight and I will forever be 300 pounds. My measurements are not going down any more either. It's really weird.

    Craving Cold ?

My whole first week post op, I chewed on ice. It just felt really good. Ice was my best friend that week. I still prefer the cold stuff.
  17. Ok- well, look at the Cadbury egg example (from the OP). One delicious, caramel or chocolate filled cadbury egg in a blue moon might not hurt any. HowEVER..... Before surgery, I could have eaten one after the other. NOt all at once, but let's say, several in a day spread out. That adds up to a LOT. I could never sit down and eat a whole pizza at one time, or any large quantities of food, because my stomach was not that big to begin with, BUT if you nibble here, and have a cream filled donut or two there, a handful of this, a handful of that....HELLO 340 lbs! And you're looking around saying "how the heck did THIS happen?!? I can't even eat that much!" It's my hope that the lack of Grehlin (hunger hormone) will be my saving grace of this surgery. (of course, the decreased capacity as well..) It scares me because I know exactly what to choose that is delicious and fattening, but small. I do not want to fall into that trap any more.

    Help Needed Q

Try some Unjury chicken broth flavored powder. They gave it to me in the hospital and it went down really well, so I ordered some. There is lots of protein in it. They have unflavored too that maybe you could add to some clear liquids. If you need to stay on clears a little longer, then do it. No harm in that.

    Help Needed Q

Oh LORD, strain the fat out of that juice first!! It will make you sicker than a DOG!!
  20. That sounds like a very reasonable attitude. I get hung up on every ingredient. I do need to relax about it. Here's what stinks...before surgery I could only hold maybe 2 pieces of pizza and part of a small salad. I managed to slide all the evil down my throat in small but dense quantities. That scares me a little.

    God Made Me

Redhead, If we still had perfect bodies, I'd be worried. However, we are in bondage to sin and decay. We are all dying and our bodies are failing. God has given us the tools, and the doctors to combat this in whatever way we can. We can do this to the glory of God. We don't have to worry about messing up what God created. Adam and Eve did that for us. I'm glad you've come to peace with this. It's a good thing.

A Stall Can Break Your Spirit

I could have written this post myself!!! I'm at week 8 tomorrow, and I've been stalled since week three. I'm about to tear my hair out thinking I'm going to be at 300 pounds the rest of my LIFE and I had surgery to lose 44 pounds. I know that's not true, but it sure feels that way some days. I went to a restaurant tonight that I haven't been to since January. I did not fit in the chairs back then. I had to perch at the edge of the chair. Tonight--I FIT!! That was some consolation.

    Crap. The Stall!

PAAHHH!!! I've been stalled for 5 weeks. I've raised my calories, I've lowered my calories, I've exercised more, I've exercised less, drank more Water, less water, stood on my head during a full moon and counted to 3,000. So now I'm just following the rules.....and waiting. Everyone assures me it will happen. So....I .....will......wait. Grrrr.
