So I was at Payless today getting some shoes for my son, and I decided just for fun to try on some shoes. I have NOT been able to wear shoes from any store like that for YEARS. I had to order online size 10 or 10 1/2 WW or WWW or WWWWWWWWWWWWW........well....you get it... So here is a picture of the 10W I put on and IT FIT!!!! HOORAAAAYYYY!!! (don't mind my 'canckles') I even tried on a regular 10 that was a bit stretchy and I got it on too!! WOO HOOOOOO I almost bought them just because they fit!!! LOL

I hardly had any shoes, and the ones I have are so worn out---good riddance!! -
Truvia is the safest of the highly marketed sweeteners, since it is made from Stevia. I think straight stevia is disgusting, but Truvia is really good and does not put any of your vital organs in danger. Avoid agave. It's bad news. You can read more about the safety of sweeteners at yeastinfectionadvisor.com. I also have a lengthy email on the subject if you want to know more about the different ones.

Congratulations! Saggy skin really depends on many factors and you won't really know how it's going to look until it does or doesn't happen as you lose weight. Depends on how long you've been overweight, how old you are, family genetics...lots of things. I am doing cardio like a fiend, and some light strength training so I won't be weak and skinny. AFTER I get to goal, I'm going to wait a year or two before deciding anything about cosmetic surgery. I don't like to be cut on, so I'm hoping for the best. Don't worry about trainers being anti-surgery, I mean- if it's done already, what can they say?? Their job is to help you get in shape. Hope all goes well for you!!

One thing people may not think of--make sure you are VERY WELL hydrated before surgery. Drink until you float the week before! -
PAAAAAAATIENCE dear. Patience. Just find a way to make the days go by and wait for it all to happen. I promise you, it will. Keep doing what you're doing (assuming you're following dr.'s orders) and don't worry about what you have or haven't lost. Just let it happen.

Of All The Crap You Took To The Hospital What Did You Actually Use?
Dooter replied to TinkerToyz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My toothbrush and phone. The rest of the time I was either sleeping or walking. Didn't want to read, or put on my own clothes or socks. Tried to use my computer but was too doped up to figure out the hospital wireless. I was STRICT NPO until the first morning after surgery, so nothing for my mouth. GAS X does NOTHing for the air they pump in for the surgery. It's not in the stomach, so gas x can't reach it. You have to use the breather and walk a lot. All I wanted to do was sleep. Other people have said they needed lip balm badly after surgery. -
Generally speaking... Breakfast, lunch and dinner and a mid morning Protein snack and an afternoon protein snack.

I didn't wake up with any drains or catheters. Everything was removed by the time I was coherent enough to notice.

Capt Derel's Gastric Sleeve Surgery Journey
Dooter replied to Capt Derel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What was your starting weight? OH I found it..315. Dang, you were sleeved RIGHT after I was. I'm at 273 now. You passed me like I was squattin' to pee! (I did start at 349, but still!!) You're melting away!! -
I posted a pic that looked JUST like that! I think we were sleeved close to the same time, weren't we?? I think my hair loss is a result of the earlier days when I was NOT getting all the Protein I should. I've been getting LOTS of protein for a couple months now, and lo and behold....this morning, I saw new hairs at my front hairline, and I can not see my scalp as much as before. It used to look like it got stuck in the vacuum, now it's closing in!! For a while there, every time I emptied my brush, it looked like I drowned a Yorkie in the toilet!! I think it's actually getting better!!

Ok Not Freaking Out But....
Dooter replied to TheNewSusie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with all of the above. Full of surgery fluids. No worries. Take it out of the microscope, back up and get a bigger perspective on the process. It's ok. Just breeeeeeathe.... -
Thread Removed? Re:septic
Dooter replied to atlast1976's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, the scar tissue heals over the staples and becomes a sealed unit again. The vertical sleeve gastrectomy, as I understand, doesn't even HAVE ten year stats as a stand alone procedure, so maybe this was referring to something else? Besides....worst case scenario, something happens to your sleeve, or God forbid you get stomach cancer, or whatever, whatever.....they convert you to a bypass. -
Gallbladder pain is the WORST!!! (And I gave birth to twins! Gallbladder is still worse!)

Am I Not Allowed To Be Afraid?
Dooter replied to JourneyOfAFatKid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you wait until you're not scared/nervous.....you'll never do it!! I was freaked out for weeks before the surgery!! It gets really bad the week right before, and that is TOTALLY normal!! Of course it causes those feelings. I would do it again a thousand times though. They just need to let you feel scared, not talk you out of your feelings. I don't know if you're a prayin' woman, but if you are- do that a lot!! -
