  1. I'd like to hear from anyone 8 months out or more please. I was sleeved on 12/12! I've lost 58 lbs and have 40 more to go! I have not lost anything for at least a month. So my question is, what can I expect going forward? Is this it? I have done my share of "cheating" and eat about 1200-1300 calories a day, but before my surgery I ate 2500-3000 a day! I am so grateful for this but I want to lose more. So what has your experiences been after 6 months? thanks everyone

    16 Mos Out...disappointed

your jouney is not over. They told us we should lose between 70-90% of excess body weight the first 2 years. You've still got several months to go. I was sleeved Dec 12 and I'm in a stall myself. I am already up to about 1200-1300 calories, so yes, I can see getting up to about 1600-1800 when I'm a year and a half out. I still think that's nothing compared to what i used to eat in a day which was about 2500-3000.
  3. I'm 5 and a half months out and eating about 1200-1500 calories a day. I've lost 55 lbs so far and I'm in a stall. I haven't lost anything for 3 weeks. Am I eating too many calories? I can eat quite a bit. A typical day is 2 hb eggs for Breakfast, lean cuisine and small bag chips for lunch, chicken breast and 1 cup cherries for dinner. Is that too much? All in all, though, I'm thrilled with my success so far! I just hope I haven't stretched my sleeve. I also drink soda occasionally, like one every 2 days or so.
  4. I had my surgery 12/12 and have lost 55 lbs as of today, 5/8! yea, me! but does anyone know where I can get statistics on this surgery in terms of effectiveness, weight loss, weight gained back, anything like that?
  5. Thanks for all your answers! Very helpful!

I started having caffeine at 2 months out. but technically I wasn't supposed to have it until I can drink 64 oz of Water a day. (which I don't) Since I don't know how to start a new thread, What about soda? Does anyone out there drink diet soda again? I'm dying for a diet coke!
  7. I'm at 3 months out and eating the wrong foods like chips and candy. help! I"ve lost 45 lbs so far and don't want to go back

As of today I am down to 205. I've had few, if any, stalls. I am so grateful to have even come this far in such a short time.

    I Am A Failure

Have you every heard of overeater's anonymous? Do you have one in your area? We have food issues, no matter what size we are or our stomachs are. It's not your fault. We are who we are: compulsive overeaters. This is something we can overcome with support.

    Am I Being Ridiculous?

To each his own. If she's happy with herself, that's ok. We of all people should not be judging. At least she has not gained.

    Rice?

It seems like alot of people don't do rice. Why is that? Also, I'm 3 weeks and 2 days out and I'm supposed to be in the purreed stage for another 10 days but I cannot stomach one more yogurt or cottage cheese! I had sushi for lunch...2 of them, so far so good.

    3-week Stall, Right On Cue

I hear ya, girl! I"m so glad I heard about the 3 week stall. I had my sleeve 12/12 and I "only" lost 17lbs since my surgery. I'm still grateful, but I want this fast! For the past week My scale has only crept along. I, Too, hope this is going to work. and I've worried that it won't.
  15. Has anyone cheated and started from pureed to soft foods before you were supposed to? I"m a little over 3 weeks out and I don't think I can stomach any more cottage cheese, yogurt, or cream soup. I've been eating macaroni and cheese and just chewing it really well. what about ground beef? any thoughts?

I"m not taking Actigall, I've never even heard of it. but is anyone else out there getting sick of pureed foods? that's the stage i'm in, until 1/12. I broke down and had tuna for lunch though. I just mashed it really good. I know I need the Protein.

    NSV shout outs

you guys, how in the world do you get one of those tracker things everyone has on their comments? oh, by the way: I live in the Denver area and I was "sleeved" on 12/12. I was 255 2 days before surgery, my weight the day of surgery was 251 and I am now down to 239! and so thrilled! I don't know how much longer I can stand the yogurt or cottage though! I am in the "pureed" stage until Jan 12!
  20. I am 9 days out and I'm starving so I can relate! The weight loss so far (5 lbs post surgery) is keeping me motivated but I don't know how I'm going to handle this. I am off protein shakes. I took myself off today! (it's supposed to be 10 days). But today I did have protein shake for breakfast, cottage cheese for lunch (3 oz) and cream of wheat for dinner. This hard. but I knew it would be. I beleive it'll be worth it.

OOPs, sorry guys, I meant to say in my last post that I started at 251 and am now am at 246! I keep doing that, I guess it's wishful thinking! I am doing very well at 9 days but I'm starving! Has anyone else had this? or is this just "head hunger?"

    Weigh In Today Hope 180's

I was sleeved just a week ago on December 12. I was litterally counting the hours and hoping nothing would get in the way of this surgery I so desperately wanted. It went well except that I had to come home with oxygen, which I was able to get off of a few days later. My pre op weight was 151.6 and this morning I was at 146.8. I am so thrilled. The surgery was not a picnic and I hope this will all be worth it.
  23. I have uhc and I was approved! I did not have to lose weight first. I had to have 6 months of a physician approved weight loss plan, have a bmi over 40 with one co morbidity, and attend the class! It was no problem. good luck!
