  1. Jessica, it took me 3 months to be able to really start liking food again and eat an adequate amount, Just give it time. I am now about 5 months out.

I am not counting callories but just can seem to get much food in i dont imagine id be getting more than 400 calories a day if that my surgery was 3 weeks ago and i have lost 7 kgs. Any pointers on getting more food im just not hungry and the thought of food makes me feel sick most the time

  2. I have been stalled at 197-199 for three, almost four weeks now. I keep losing a pound and gaining it back and losing it etc.

It is super frustrating, logically it is impossible not to lose weight when eating 700 calories a day! I always eat 80g + Protein a day and keep carbs under 40g.

This weekend my fiance came to visit and we went out to eat a ton. I had a taco, some pizza, meats with sauces (calorie packed) and even some froyo. I pretty much just ate whatever. Well I weighed this morning and I am am down 2 pounds from Friday. So now I am wondering why.

My job requires a ton of physical activity and I bike to and from classes a day, about 30 mins total, and burn about 400 - 600 calories when I work out 3 times a week. I am wondering if 700 is just too little for my body.

Has any female sleever lost weight in a constant manner while getting in around 900 - 1000 calories?

Just wanted to add that if I did decided to up my calories I would do so with more healthy foods than pizza and candy :)

I was just observing the increase in calories in general and their effect, not the foods eaten.

  3. For me it actually kind of cures it. My family has a genetic disorder for stomach cancer. It is an autosomal recessive gene. When my dad died from it, my mum got us all screened. Turn out I not only have the gene, but it is active in my body and should theoretically cause stomach cancer at some point. My brother has it too, he just had little polyps that had to be removed. But he is only 24.

Anywho, my oncologist told me that now that 85% is removed, my chances of having an actual tumor have greatly decreased because the cancerous cells could have been on that portion.

  4. Lol I am Mayan (Salvadorean) and Portuguese and Jewish so I am hairrrrry!

I don't shave all the time though, only when I know I will be wearing shorts or something. I used ot be uber self conscious when I was younger -- even a kid because of my stache -- until my mom told me about how women with hairy knuckles were special in Maya culture. It took me a while to completely get over it though. My fiance is Mexican so he has seen all the hair on his mommy and doesn't care :)

Wow i feel so bad for you guys. I barely need to shave... maybe once every week but its stubble. Thank god for my dad being Aztec! Lol

  5. Every 4 days??

You must be white lol ;)

I have to shave EVERY SINGLE DAY if I want to be smooth. By the end of the day my legs have a good 1/6 inch of stubble!

Am I the only one who thinks us larger girls have a harder time that skinny girls shaving. I mean we have more leg so we have more hair on that more leg It's just annoying. I hate having to shave my legs every 4 days in the summer  .Do you ladies choose other options like waxing, weird cream stuff ect?Or do you just go au natural?

  6. There prices have gone up a ton then!

    http://www.nyee.edu/pdf/plastics-affordable-cosmetic-surgery-program.pdf

If you do not want to go to Mexico, New York Eye and Ear hospital in Manhattan, is a world renowned for it's head and neck plastics, developed a cosmetic surgery fellowship that offers low cost surgery 3000-4000 per procedure. The surgeons are all board certified, have already done a plastics fellowship and have decided to super specialize in cosmetics. i had a breast lift for 3000 and a lower body lift (Full circumferance zipper) AND a Tummy Tuck for 3000. I did this after a big weight loss (that failed a year later) and although I have gained the weight back, I don't have saggy boobs or an apron. They did a phenomenal job.

  7. It might just be that she is taking a cut on her fees to get her name out there. Trish told me she gets quite a bit for each surgery.

I am very concerned with this "Lori" when I heard her price I called Dr. Ponce (because I just paid 5500. last week) I went through Trish. I was told she is not authorized to offer 4600.00 to patients. I was told she is new to Dr. Ponce and I was also told Dr. is going to be speaking with her real soon..so Be leary for now and do not send any money.

  8. So now that I have mastered my Protein, calorie and Water goals I was wondering about sodium.

How much is too much? What do you try to stay under?

My diet consists of a lot of cheese and deli meats and I am finding that those have a ton of sodium!

I can't really afford to buy non pre-packaged deli meat - I have a budget around 10 bucks a week for food.

Anywho, what is your sodium limit?

  9. I work at a catering and dining common for UCSB. So we do a lot of lifting tables, big 5 gallon beverage containers, trash cans. When I went back to work they had me do minimal lifting but I was still on my feet for 6-8 hours at a time. I stuck with dish and pot duty for a week or so and then went back to small lifting - like trays of food that weighed up to 15 pounds and in two - three weeks after that (maybe a month out) I was back to normal.

My doc ok'd this for me, he said I shouldn't be too sore and since I had no scar tissue he was able to stitch me up nice and tightly with no problem. I never felt anything "pop" as some people have when they lift things too early out. I did get sore after my first day back doing trash, but not pain.

I also wanted to ask and forgot earlier...what kind of work do you do? I work in a fairly physical job and was concerned about going back.

  10. I work at a bakery during the school year and have no problem with sampling things. If I am making it, I need to make sure it is ok and will be satisfactory to everyone. So I try it. I have never eaten a whole whatever, only a small bite.

Many people on here still include these items in their diet - just in moderation. A 1/2 tablespoon of whatever we make really isn't a big deal to me. I find myself eating much worse things and too much of it when I am not at work!

I guess if that is really a big deal to you, just have a friend over to do the tasting! I am sure no one will object to being a baked good guinea pig.

  11. I am 20 and I started out at 260 the day of surgery. I also didn't have any scar tissue, no previous surgeries, so he said there was less stretching and poking and prodding around things which aided on me not being so sore. My level of pain was around a 3 or 4 -- kind of felt like someone had punched me in the stomach and I was just sore. This only really happened when I tried to sit up or lay down.

Oooooh I hope I get to have an experience like yours! I'm going in with an attitude that I will, and hope I bounce back quickly like I did from two of my knee surgeries (not even gonna talk about how horrible recovery from the third was! lol) Just wondering, how old are you and how much did you weigh going in if you don't mind me asking? I'm 25 and am right around 245, so I'm hoping that will work in my favor.

  12. It is absolutely possible. Would it be tough? Yes. But it can be done. I have a friend, who told me about the surgery, who lost 100 pound sin 6 months and made it to goal. She, like me, loves to bake and ended up going back to it. Well, 6 months later and she said she went from a 4 to a 6. She has been gaining weight for a while now and was kind of ignoring it.

I have heard of worse stories though, like 50 pounds gained.

So just be cautious. If you are eating nutritious foods it should be hard to overeat but sugary foods tend to be sliders.
