  1. Hello, I have a question about the 6 month dietary plan I have to complete before my insurance will approve me. So if I loose wieght and my BMI drops below 40 they won't approve me??? So do you ignore the diet and just eat normal? Confussed

  2. Hit 25 BMI as per BariatricPal! OMG I'M NORMAL! haha although as per my scale, my BMI is somewhere around 23. I like 23 better. :) soooo close to goal! I hope I can lose the last 4.6 by Sept 21 which is my surgery anniversary. I'm revving things up my peeps to hit this goal! BOOM!

  3. Spent yesterday in the ER. Incision is open, weeping and infected. Sometimes I just shake my head about what some people think is all mighty important...

  4. Thank Goodness! Today I heard back from my old Bariatric Center where I had my surgery. I asked them to provide a letter that I could take to my new doctors and insurance company in my new state indicating that having to have the annual blood work is an absolute necessity to ensure proper nutrition post RNY. My lovely new insurance company refuses to pay the $2363.00 bill for said blood work because they used the work Bariatric in the coding. The clinic of course refuses to change the coding so I wrote the check yesterday because they threatened to send it to collections. What BS. Now I am filing with both the insurance company for an appeal and I am filing with the state, thanks to @OKCPirate. Don't know if it will do any good and I will get my money back but it is what it is.

  5. Last two drains are out. 1/2 of the sutures are out. For the first time in over forty years I can see my "lady bits"! Question: When did my "lady bits" turn grey?? I'll blame my surgeon. :)

  6. Made it to onederland. Can't believe it.

  7. I totally stress ate 7 pounds in the last two weeks. Sigh. Yes, you can eat around your sleeve. Now it's time to get back to business.

  8. This damned STALL. I feel like this weight is never going to come off!! I can't cut any more calories, I can't work out any harder...maybe my destiny is to just be fat. My body refuses to cooperate with this process. I have never been so discouraged in all my life. This is not working.

  9. I've been resting and focusing on fluids and protein. I can't post status updates from my phone, and hadn't felt like getting the laptop out. :) I've gotten a minimum of fluids in each day, but not up to goal, and haven't been able to get protein in well. But yesterday was better than the day before, and today has started off really well. I'm able to drink more, and should meet goals today. Pain has been worse from my arthritis than the surgery since day 3, which is annoying but I'll take it. Working from home this week, so I should be able to keep drinking like I should. Followup and purees coming on the 31st. :)

  10. MY A1c is 5.4 people!!!! 5.4 I am just so thrilled with this sleeve

  11. Tough week in Baton Rouge, helping friends who flooded pack up their undamaged belongings, carrying wet furnishings to the curb, and tearing out floor and sheet rock. Hopefully tomorrow I will be back to eating normal.

  12. Hello Onederland :-)

  13. Finally broke out of the 190's...189.8 today! Down 62.2! Yay me! Everyone have a great weekend!

  14. Went to Costco for first time since surgery. Came face to face with their amazing pizza. :( momentarily felt so sad and frustrated. But.... It will all be worth it in the end.

  15. Where does the far go?

  16. six month check up went well. NP and NUT are pleased with my progress and choices. Watching as the labs come in now - the WBC is still high, but down a whole number, so I am happy about that.

  17. I'm engaged and I'm back in the 230s! WOOOOOOOHOOOO

  18. I can't figure out how to post status updates from my phone, and didn't pull my laptop out while I was at the hospital. My doc keeps us overnight to make sure we're tolerating fluids and protein shakes, so I got home about 1pm today. Am sore... yesterday it was epigastric today it's that abdominal muscle they split to take the stomach out. But it's not too bad, I've had zero nausea and only one hiccup fit (boy that hurt). I'm learning how big of sips I can take, and trying to stay hydrated. Took SIX sticks for my bloodwork this morning, because I slept more than I drank yesterday.

  20. Protein shakes are getting to be so difficult to choke down. I'm soooooooo over them.

  21. My toes are almost touching Onederland! The scale stubbornly balanced at 200.0 today. I moved it all around the bathroom to try to get it to tip but it refused!

  22. So, I've proven myself right! I've been eating nuts since I was cleared to do so....but knew it was a slippery slope for me because I love love love nuts. For about 5 weeks eating nuts I averaged about 1.7 pounds lost per week......but I knew I eating too many nuts! This last week I stopped with the nuts and lost 3.2 pounds.....This is good information to have! I need to work on controlling my portion sizes because I don't want to not ever be able to have them.....but I think for now I'll keep myself in "timeout" from nuts for a while....3.2 pounds in a week feels better than nuts taste!!!

  23. I have walked 23,662 steps today!!!

  24. Burnt the cowboy shit outa my left arm while grilling.........hair is gone. Should I go ahead and trim the hair off both arms to match ????
