  1. Whew, I'm ready to go too! Less than 48 hours!
  2. I agree with Mamaof8. I didn't even know about the sleeve 14 months ago when started this journey. I thought I was headed for a g-bypass. Then when I learned about the sleeve, I was all for it. No malnutrition - no dumping. (Well, I have heard of a few people upchucking but I don't think it's like dumping.) Welcome to the forum!!
  3. I had trouble with that, too! Mine didn't fix for 24 hours!
  4. And I've read that you're able to eat more because the swelling in your stomach has gone down at about 8 weeks, so this makes sense.
  5. MinaT - how are you feeling? Everything going smoothly?
  6. OMG, I literally LOL when I read this! You all are right and I feel so much calmer as I read posts like all of yours.
  7. @Oregondaisy - the information you shared is extremely good to know. I appreciate the info.
  8. Gosh I'm so excited to get this show on the road......New Hope, it's nice to hear that you can get bigger sips now!
  9. Im on thursday! Good luck to all of us!!
  10. I decided not to say anything at work. Instead i have been seen drinking protein drinks and ive brought my tennis shoes to work and taken walks and have been heard to say that Im getting ready to kick it up a notch. I guess they will think that im working harder when i start losing weight!
  11. Great advice MeglnNOLA ! You can also add cottage cheese. Once u blend it you cant tell the difference.
  12. I don't have any advice as i have not been sleeved yet but was curious: you're able to eat cookies at 2 weeks out? It doesnt hurt your new pouch? Just curious. Thx!
  13. GOOD LUCK! Please post after and tell us how you are doing!!!
  14. My dr. is having me do protein shakes, popsicles, broth, powerade, water and diluted non-pulp juices.
  15. I found on another post that she is not posting until she gets back tomorrow. We should hear from her then.
  16. Wow, I have been very scared lately -- only because my surgery is next week. Hmmmm, please keep me posted on your progress!! Sounds like you're getting better every day.
  17. I will be looking forward to your updates!
  18. Glad to hear everyone is okay! I'm a bit panicked - I get sleeved 6/14. So you all are able to swallow pills? I have two meds I have to take and that's one of the things I'm apprehensive about - swallowing a pill on post-op day 2.
  19. Your weight loss is phenominal! I hope I'm like you. I'm 55 and as I posted above, I'm petrified right now! Sometimes I want to back out.....but I haven't.
  20. Don't get discouraged!!!!! I've read a hundred times from people on here that your IV fluids and other stuff can make you gain at first. Give it some time. How are you feeling? I'm in the petrified mode right now. I have 7 days. Are you able to get your liquids down?
  21. Has anyone heard from Mina T since her surgery on June 4? I can't find any posts from her. Thanks!
  22. We are "sleeve sisters!". I am June 14 in Hampton Roads ,VA. Good luck!
  23. With 8 days left til surgery, I have been feeling very anxious. Last night I had a dream that I was sleeved and years later i was in a nursing home. I had dimentia and coudnt tell the nurses that i needed to drink alot of water, take vitamins and eat protein first at meals. They had everything messed up and I was really sick and couldnt tell them. It was a horrible dream and I woke up ready to cancel the surgery. Geez. I need to get a grip! lol!
  24. I got my gallbladder out 2 1/2 yrs ago. Apparently i had periodic attacks over the last 10 yrs. Mine felt like super bad indigestion Smack in the middle of my chedt and it crept behind my back thru my shoulder blade.
