9 months post op I've learned that (as you've probably heard several times) stalls are very common, normal and necessary for successful and proper weightloss. That being said once I'm stuck for about 3 weeks I fast. I always intermitten fast which has cut my "stalls" from 3 weeks to about 9 days, but when I get stuck much longer I do about a 24 hour fast twice in a week and that breaks it everytime.

Need help..........What did you do with all of your clothes that are to big!
KhadijahRose replied to Beach Lover's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've tossed most of mine in those handy little "save-the-earth" canisters I see in the parking lot of mosques, churches and walmarts. -
Do we stop ptotein when we eat?
KhadijahRose replied to Sabredy12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the above, I'm 9 months post and at 6'1 and working out about 5 days a week I need about 100g per day, with the restrictions we have it's really quite hard for me to get that much in without incorporating a Protein supplement here-and-there. -
I'm not quite clear on the question but if you're asking if it changed, the answer is yes. I used to have a 28 day cycle, now it's 60 days. I'm told that a change in your cycle is very normal and expected with rapid weight loss. That being said what you're going through sounds serious, I'd call my Doctor or NUT asap.

Protein Shake suggestions?
KhadijahRose replied to Sleeveless n Seattle's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I use lean body ready made protein shakes, they're 45g per serving but I've only found them on Amazon. Still they are the absolute best tasting shakes out there, I couldn't finish any of the other ones I found in stores, or any powdered shakes. These are great and with the high protein content one a day was more than enough and if you're newly post-op it'll fill you up and you can sip it through two meals honey! It's a good one and a good size. -
Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!
KhadijahRose replied to AshleyMidwife's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm 6'1 or 2 depending on the office or gym. My starting weight was 356 with no liquid diet, I am currently 272 and my goal is 220-215 or a size 10-12. I eat around 2000 calories per day and work out 5-6 days per week. I'm almost 9 months post op and feel really good. I can eat though. I always wonder if my sleeve can handle more due to length...any way I think for my size I'd be considered a slow lower but I'm ok with how things are since I've yet to have a bad case of saggy skin and I still lose about 10 pounds every other month. -
I've been pretty consistent with my period cycle since surgery. I have 3 kiddo's and it started back after my third was 10 months which happend to be 3 and a half months post-op. I will say that I used to be VERY regular as in an exact 28 day cycle, now I am exactly 60 days!! So I have a period every other month these days which is weird for me but I guess it's just another change in my body as my body changes . If we were talking face to face I'd say you should get a pregnancy test , because after 5 pregnancies of my own I'd have to say that sounds like a pretty good sign, especially if you're generally very regular . Wishing you whatever your hoping for

1 Year Out & have been same weight since 5 Months out!
KhadijahRose replied to Pbit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I do, except my issue, oddly enough, isn't with sweets. I tend to "dump" so at 10 months post-op my vice's are pizza, chips and the occassional plate of jollof rice. Although it hasn't completley stalled my weight loss (although I do w/o about 5-6 days a week, 60 mins, and stick to my pills and water) it has slowed it drastically. I go through 2 and 3 months stalls because of my struggles with these foods. I still binge, just...much slower I guess. It's been an extreme mental struggle. Before surgery I was all about sweets, now because my body can't take it anymore I am all about salty, carby Snacks...sigh...that whole "replacing - one - addiction - for - another thing" has reared it's ugly head again...but I keep up the struggle and each day I make a mistake I vow the next morning not to make the same one...I'll get it eventually. -

I've never had surgery before...Don't know what to expect?!
KhadijahRose replied to Short N Sweet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had 3 c-sections and the vsg, honestly the only thing I didn't like was waking up 5 hours later drugged and groggy. I've never slept through a section so that was a bit disturbing. The pain wasn't too bad. I stopped using the meds by the end of the first day. It felt like I'd been brutally beaten only in my tummy. But I was up and walking by the next day. The hardest part for me was how thirsty I was but had to wait until the next day after the leak test to drink. It's really not to bad but surgery is scary so I totally understand your fear. You'll likely do great and realize it's at easier than it sounds. -
Foods that take a while to fill your sleeve..which means you can generally over eat them. Mine are french fries, thin crust pizza, cookies and anything with a liquid consistency (ice cream, smoothies)

Over a year out at not at goal.
KhadijahRose replied to bubles089's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same issue with my belly. It's coming off every where else but even with all my cardio and weight training my tummy has yet to tighten up...as for the getting to goal issue, I'm sorry for your frustration but it sounds like you've simply plataued and are going to have to start tracking inches instead of pounds. don't not start school though, you probably look a lot better than you think. Hoping for you all the best -
ROTFL!! Did that really just happen?! Anyway, I understand, sometimes people don't quite understand what you're asking or can't really relate to your venting so they post random responses. You get used to it...i think...happy posting :-)

8 months post op, and new pain
KhadijahRose replied to mandymae's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The sharp pain on your left side is unfamiliar to me but the other symptoms happen to me when I'm dumping. Definitely sounds like you should see your doctor or surgeon. -
So I haven't lost any weight in about 2 months but why aren't I freaking out?! Well because I know this is normal, I've read it a thousand and one times on here. But I also know I'm still losing thanks to my clothes fitting better (or no longer fitting because they're too big!) and I'm able to wear things that I haven't worn in years. So the inches are still coming off thanks to my fitnessblender workouts from youtube (Love those workouts). Anyway, I just thought I'd share that bit of info and hope that it helps someone else going through the same thing. It is frustrating when you don't see a huge loss, especially since your still in the first 6 months and see everyone having huge losses, yet I'm keeping my spirit high and keeping up the fight to reach my goals
