    Is Keeping The Secret Possible?

Let me try again! HAHA I am 9 months post op and I have chosen not to tell many people. This has worked so far, because I have put a lot of effort in at my gym an with my personal trainer. You can keep this secret. If someone says something to you about the amount you eat, you can simply say your not feeling well, your husband has a nice dinner cooking, or even reject the cupcake and say that you don't want to spoil a further meal. The bottom line to remember In this is that you DON'T have to explain Anything you don't want to to anyone you don't want to. It has only been recently that people have asked how I did it, and I reply a strict diet and a strict exercise schedule, and they are content with that !

3 Days Post Op In Tj-Headache Help

A headache is a main sign of dehydration. Also, being sick to your stomach, and even vomiting, are signs of dehydration. (weird I know!) make sure you are forcing fluids. Even of its just water or crystal light. Fluids are your best friend!

    11 Days Off Work Enough?

Hello! I had my surgery and I was ready to go back to work a week later. My job was mostly desk work, but the stairs up to my office were a task for a few weeks, and I also had to be very careful around my clients. I went back to work after 10 days. If you follow everything to the T, you will have better success, starting with your preop diet. My surgeon says that part if the reason I recovered so quickly was because I never cheated on pre-op, and because as soon as I got home I started walking. It was just a small distance, and I turned around when pain came. But he says that really sped up my recovery! Happy sleeping!

  11. Well, I am seven weeks post op (at least 42 lbs down) and Im feeling great. My only issue is that I was only the second person to be sleeved by my hospital and I feel like I cannot relate to anyone in the "support groups" that we have to go to. Im hoping to gain some advice from this website now! I am currently feeling like this is not working, Im worrying all the time about what I am eating, and if it is wrong! Also, Water has become my enemy! It makes me so sick to my stomach, so I have been drinking Propel Zero, Crystal Light and Powerade Zero, but I worry that I should be drinking just water also. Im also having some trouble with Vitamins. I currently take 2 daily vitamins from GNC, but I cannot stomach them any longer (they are like cherry flavored cardboard!) I was wondering if people were able to take Flinstone vitamins? The Weight Loss Center that I am a part of says that you can't have Flinstone Vitamins, but I think that is only pertaining to people who have had the bypass or the band, as they don't have alot of experience yet with the sleeve? Any suggestions? Please help! I'm feeling no connections here!

Need Some Sleevers To Relate To!

They did give me a small meal plan idea, but mostly they have just told me to get my Protein in and then green vegetables. And no, no labs have been done to see what vitamins I need. They have told me to take 2 Multivitamins, B12, and Calcium daily. I have been drinking alot, I have had a few run-ins with dehydration, and after trial and error have figured out that it was dehyration and that I need to be sure I drink alot. The actual hospital that I went to has had a Surgical Weight Loss Center for a long time, and is a MAGNET hospital. However, they just gained a surgeon thathad done the Sleeve over 1000 times, but I was only the second patient to be sleeved in the hospital. I am feeling as if the team of Nurse Practitioners, the nutritionists, and the other staff don't always have answers for me, or they forget that i have had the sleeve and not bypass. Its really quite annoying! they do have monthly meetings that you have to go to, but i'm only the second sleeve, its hard to relate to the people that have had the other surgeries because they have such different feelings!
  14. I used to think this was the easy way out, and i would feel so guilty sometimes. But then when I told my family the way I was feeling they explained to me that this was in fact just as difficult, if not more, than the tradional methods. They reminded me that most people do not have the will power to have to give up the foods they enjoy, not snack, not drink soda, not eat fast food, and drink the right amount of water constantly. This has greatly opened my eyes, and my family continues to ensure me that this was NOT the easy way out!

    18 Days Post Op!

It finally happend, I had my sleeve on halloween! Scary thought! I had some trouble in the hospital, I could not keep the Loritab Elixer down, and it caused me to not be able to drink. So after 2 days they finally figured out this is what was causing me to not drink! New pain medication and drinking was a success... to the best of my ability anyways. I went home on day 4 around noon. My first day home I felt amazing. I walked for about 20 minutes outside, and i was able to sleep on my side and get a full nights rest! It was amazing. I kept up the walking for the entire week, and went back for my post op appointment on day 9. I begged to go back to work becuase I was feeling so great and I do not like to sit around. I was able to go back to work on day 11! Also, on day 14 I started with my new Personal Trainer. I know it seems soon, but we stayed away from any core and abdominal work. I did leg lifts, worked on my arms and walked of course! So here it is, day 18 and i'm feeling like crap! I feel like I can't eat anything. I dont know if this is a normal feeling or if I am really feeling sick to my stomach. Yesterday I left work eary and did some R&R time for myself, thinking maybe I had overdone it the past few days But today I am not feeling any better. I am trying my best to get my water in, but it is very difficult. I know I can get more in, and perhaps that is why I am feeling ill?? Just a rough day today.... Amandaleigh
