  1. Previous post forgot to ask the question........ However, I can't remember the question but I love reading your posts!
  2. That's fantastic Coops! I do have a question for you. Yesterday I skipped a meal and it really messed me up. My stomach had a total empty feeling all evening and then when I woke up today until about 1:00pm. It was horrible. Today I am adding some yogurt and omeprazole and will eat salad for dinner. Thanks to your sharing, I will avoid the flour and grains. Happy your doing better also.....
  3. I have watched Super Size me and was totally affected by it. I don't eat at fast food places except for El Pollo Loco for grilled chicken and I keep portion sizes way down. Now the movie food inc I just decided I didn't need to see it because It pulls at all my emotions. I pretty much try to eat organic, non processed foods. I do eat meat but will pay more for higher quality of meat and eggs. I guess if the truth is to be known, I don't want to give up my meats and if I see that movie, I would have to face my reality of the way our food industry treats animals. I do chose to eat cage free, non stressed out eggs........
  4. Actually I'm having a really bad few days. Dealing with family (husband's) sought out and clean out room in a house was really stressful. I had breakfast but wasn't able to eat until after 4:30 and then practically inhaled 1/2 of a double double cheeseburger. Danger zone for me. I still felt deprived and my stomach felt really empty still. Then 1 hour later I still felt hungry and had a bag of Planter's Heat peanuts...... Felt horrible afterwards. Today will be a new day. I am coming down with something but am going to work on not letting it detour me. I will be balancing my meals more......Not easy, I have a habit of eating high proteins..... I have also been having the same thoughts and reflections as you. I want to eat more even when I am full and sometimes take 1 or 2 bites more than I need. It's my head hunger. I really need to portion out my foods and not skip meals. It's really dangerous for me. Today is a new day. And I've had breakfast and I'm feeling empty again. I think I need to get back on my omeprazole........ However, I am at 145.1 for about 2 days so I'm hoping to get below my 144 lb mark. Need to exercise......
  5. My A1c dropped from a 6.9 to 6.0 and then up to a 6.3, then down to 6.1. My blood sugar is pretty low on a daily basis, around 94 in the morning. I have read some empirical studies that after weight loss surgery some people do get high blood sugar and an increase in their A1C about 5 years post opt. Not everyone though. So I plan on just eating healthy and keeping the carbs low to help prevent diabetes. However, this is a lot of work because I do love chocolate and if I eat 1 piece of chocolate, my brain goes into hyperdrive wanting more chocolate..... So it will be my food struggle from here on out.
  6. From a professional prespective, referring to food as an addiction, I would wait before adding those bites of foods that were trigger points to your bingeing as well as the emotions that you were experiencing at he same time. I know personally and professionally that when ever I take a bite of my favorite food, which is homemade tacos, that I will over eat to a point of discomfort. So I stay away from tacos. I know that I'm addicted to high fats, sugar, and salt and when I haven't had any of those foods high in fat, sugar, and salt, I no longer have cravings for that. As a therapist, I recommend to my clients that they read David Kessler's book on "No more overeating." That book gives a clear picture of what the food industry gets people hooked on food. So I highly recommend that you stick to following dietary rules and form new eating habits and work with your therapist in identifying triggers to your binge eating and learn new coping skills to express the emotional part to binge eating. And this is going to be pretty much everyone's job from here on out. We will be successful. Keep ROCKIN that sleeve. Thank you for sharing with us Fiddleman!
  7. After reading this post, it dawned on me that I am no longer craving or wanting sugar. In fact, I'm looking for the healthy carbs that turns into sugar now and struggle with adding them to my diet. Can you need for sweets be something related to our high protein eating habits? In a diabetes class I'm taking, the dietician explained that when we don't eat a well balanced meal, we are still hungry due to a deficit in carbs. I know that we are all looking for answers and we have all come this far and will continue on this upward trail.... Yep, we've done it......
  8. Fiddleman, you will always have a remnant of your binge eating come up for the rest of your life span. Please keep talking to your therapist about this so you can build more coping skills to deal with this diseease......
  9. People simply amaze me. Time to celebrate and own ur hard work. I have no azz either. Loving it too.
  10. Today I weighed in at 145.1 lbs. So getting back to normal again..... When I get to 135 lbs, I will be flying high....... But until then, I am working on balancing my diet. The dietician told me that if I balance my food groups, I won't be hungry. So lets see if she's correct.... Good job Escape_Pod....
  11. Well, you are diffinately on the Big Loser's Bench with us now! CONGRATS! So glad you could join us......
  12. I here this over and over. So I chose not to drink carbonated drinks.....
  13. Great job Pasquini! I was wondering how ur doing. You look so sexy! Keep it up.
  14. You guys over 2 to 3 years out are doing great. I know that I will and am having the difficulties as u are. I am 14 months out and am reading all kinds of books need to learn as much as I can. I do struggle with head hunger and will eat anything in front of me even when I am not hungry. I know this is hard work thank you so much for sharing with us.
  15. Congrats! You look absolutely beautiful! Keep it up.....
  16. Ok I just bought one on ebay (Withings scale). No more denial for me..... Hope it's really accurate..This is such a chore.....
  17. OMG you can't hide anything without technology ratting you out.....No denial for you. LOL Actually I am going to buy one of those scales too and that way it becomes easier to document and see where every thing is.....I like that.....These past 6 to 8 months have virtually been at a stand still with a lb or 2 loss. It teases me but is beginning to bug me big time..... Off to look for one of those scales on ebay or amazon... I need something to kick my butt into reality here.
  18. Escape_pod, I'm sitting at your house right now having a pitty party too! Today is going to be an all liquid protein day..... Yep. I'd put wacko emoticon on but did that on previous post yesterday and was referred to by a psycho. Hummmm, gotta be careful around here.
  19. OK, today is a totally new day. I weighed in at 147.1 lbs today, up 1 lb from yesterday. I believe that I need to stop eating peanuts for a while. The salt is messing with my system. Water retention....? I struggle with understanding why my body is not shedding little bit of weight I have left. According to my fitness pal, the low calorie diet I'm on, Haha, couldn't eat more if I tried, I should be down to 130 lbs months ago. By weighing myself daily and posting it here, gives me a pattern of the ups and downs of my weight. I do eat about 1200 to 1300 calories daily and it's high protein with few carbs........ Hope you guys don't mind that I share this stuff, if so, please let me know and I will stop. Have a great day.......
  20. Enjoy the pants as long as you can. Pretty soon you will be in a smaller size! This is such a wonderful NSV...... CONGRATS!
  21. Wow, you look really great!
  22. It was really hard for you to take credit for all the hard work you've down. I'm happy that you recognize it and have decided to make a change up and just say thank you. If they ask further, just tell them that you've reduced your portions and am exercising.....Because that's he truth. At least that's what I've decided to do for myself, especially in the beginning. In fact we were in the mountains and a lady was telling my DH and myself a great place to eat and that they give you a lot of food. I caught myself telling her that I have decided to eat smaller portions and smiled. Boy was I surprised. Now that's an awesome NSV for me......
  23. This is totally amazing. In the afternoon I found that my ring is about to fall off, the next day, I had gained 2 lbs. Now today I went down to 146.1 lbs.... Didn't change much of my eating patterns, in fact, I ate a little bit more. _ Escape_Pod I truly believe that this is water weight. I know that I did some weight baring exercises 2 days ago and my muscles were torn down and repairing the tissue which cause inflammation. So I guess when exercising, it would be expected to add some extra weight. But I'm still going to work this. Just wish I could get to a low point of 143 lbs and I will be happy. Just found out that my bone structure is medium and so my goal weight is between 130 and 144 lbs. So I'm shooting for 135 lbs. I think I want to get on the scale each morning for at least 2 weeks, write down my weight each morning to see what by body is doing. Then I'm going to average that out and see where I stand.
