I slept really good in the hospital with my morphine but when I got home I took the prescribed vicodin and it hyped me up and I couldn't sleep for 3 nights or days. That was really frustrating. I ended up getting the Vicodin changed to Tylenol with Cod and was able to get a nights sleep. Didn't have to take any after that....

I am 2 1/2 months post op and have noticed my hair is shedding some. I started taking Biotin a couple of weeks ago and am now waiting to recieve my silica caps. It is really bothersome to see my hair shedding. Also read a blog about not using chemical products on our hair due to the possibility of damage. I need to dye my hair every 6 weeks otherwise My sides are gray. That will be lovely.. LOL Hang in there and do the best we can, at least we will have healthy bodies. Take care.

My surgeon told me I can eat anything I want, I am 2 1/2 months Post op. They do not want me to have any sugar and the told me that rice, bread and Pasta will expand in my stomach after eating it. I try to eat Protein and then a little carbs, little vegetables. I am always hungry though. to the hungry monster in my stomach......Is anyone else really hungry after the sleeve?

GOSH. have you ever sat next to a person that is skinny....I notice that they order an omelette and country fries and they eat about 1/4th of the omelette and a few bites of the potatoes, and throw the rest away. They don't feel quilty about wasting food either. I think that eating a bite of pizza or 2 is not going to hurt you, in fact, you will be alot happier. My struggle right now is taking a bite and waiting 10 minutes between bites. I have only accomplished that 1 to 2 times. I'm always on the go. I eat around 5 bites of food and stop. I pretty much eat Protein with some carbs, but I know that I am doing the best that I can. Enjoy and do not deprive yourself or you will want more. Take care and Merry Christmas.......

I am 2 1/2 months post op and I can't eat much. At the most I can eat 1/2 a sandwhich without the crust. I drink a Protein Shake in the am and evening. I do struggle with waiting 10 minutes between each bite. I doubt that I'm getting more than 600 calories in my day.

Hi, now worries, it is not harmful to not have a bowel movement for 4 days. I was really worried when I didn't have a bowel movement for almost 2 weeks. I finally went to the drug store and purchased some Miralax that didn't work for at least 2 days. Hang in there and focus on healing. If your really feeling bad then perhaps you can call your Dr's office. Enjoy your journey.......

My docs told me that I need to take 10 minutes between each bite of food, and to chew chew chew. I asked if anyone had ever had their staples come out and the doc told me that it had never happen since she's been doing surgery. However, I have researched about the stomach stretching and numerous doctors had written that the stomach that's left can stretch out. The stomach does not have the capacity to stretch out as far as it did pre op. That it is possible to put the weight back on if we are continuously snacking. I am in agreement with this and know that I need to be aware of how much I'm eating, not eating sugar and high fat food. I want to eat healthier and feel better too. Hope this helps. Remember to always "eat small amounts" and savor what we do eat. I also started taking prilosec and found out that I am no longer hungry all the time and feel alot more comfortable. Thanks
