I know that your just feeling miserable right now and scared. But this too will pass and you will not be taking zofran forever, it's just for right now. Congrats on your 35 lb weight loss, it's amazing but the best is yet to come! Hang in there and by the way, did they discuss or check for a leak? Just curious. Please let us know.

So happy for you! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy! I too am learning to not let food run my life. I am looking at my habits and changing them to the attitude I eat to live, not live to eat. LOL I eat protein first and then some veggies. I hound my adult children to rid the house of carbs like chips and candy which drives them nuts, but they're lucky to be living here. Live changes are hard to make, but lets face it, with that junk in the house we don't stand a chance in hell at succeeding. And my world is about me with them included in every way they can. Sorry for the rant, but congrats !

The Scale Won't Budge. Stall Help Please..
Ms skinniness replied to AngieG0410's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, you have lost 65 lbs. That's nothing to sneeze at. This is more than you would have lost without the surgery. It is time that your body is adjusting in inches and restoring the glycogen for the next round of weight loss. This is a time to rejoice with loved ones and make the daily habit changes to sustain the weight loss. It will stop stalling and continue on down the path. We didn't gain our weight over night and we won't lose it over night either. I too have gone through this struggle and at a point where I'm at goal. I was frustrated and scared that I was done losing. But I wasn't. So I focus on living one day at a time and eating protein first, then veggies. I am working on eating a very limited amount of carbs. Hang in there! -
I have been thinking about how awesome it is that those little 4 legged critters were able to share such a wonderful home with such caring loving people. You brought them into you home and you gave them love. How lucky they were. To be honest, when my time comes, I don't want to linger on, I would like to end my life in a peaceful way and not have to suffer. You have been a godsend to those critters as well. It still hurts your heart, but they are still in your heart and will always be there next to you.

Different Hair Loss Question (I Hope)
Ms skinniness replied to mkardh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people don't experience hair loss. I have experienced hair loss but it has stopped and I have a full head of hair now, even though at different lengths. I take biotin and silica and it helps with hair regrowth and nails. -
I prefer Aquafina but that's because when I had my water tested, I had them test my bottled water too, and Aquafina was the purest of the bottled water I had tested. But will drink Arrowhead and Crystal Geyser too. I do have to flavor it with mio or diluted with Gatorade low calorie. Regular water does have a kick to it in my stomach. Go figure.

You are doing a great job to start with! Thirty minutes is nothing to sneeze at! Keep it up, it does get easier as time goes on. Have you been sleeved yet?

Low Bmi'ers -- Please Share Your Story
Ms skinniness replied to sssehol's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am almost 9 months post op and I was on the line for surgery with my BMI. In fact, the only reason I was able to get the surgery is because I have diabetes. I have done so well and this is the best decision I could of made for myself. I am really skinny now and wearing a size 8 in jeans and could fit into a size 6 if I liked my pants really snug. This is a complete life style change which is frustrating at times. I never knew how my head hunger would work but am now finding out. Now I have to change my mindset to I only need food to survive mode. I have to avoid those pesky carbs and increase my exercise because we can put the weight back on, after all, the sleeve is just a tool. My BMI in in normal range and my blood sugar levels are in the normal range now. If I eat candy, my A1C will go up, so diabetes can come back if I stray from my diet. So, tiny bit of sugar to no sugar for me. I'm am learning so much about my self and loving it. If you have any personal questions you would like to have answered, please feel free to PM me. Hope this helps. -

Major Plateau!
Ms skinniness replied to ChelseaChestnut's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, you still have your sleeve and it will get you moving again. I suggest looking up "The Basic Bootcamp Diet" by LilMissDiva and get back to pure basics. that means all liquids for a couple of days etc. This will help get past the sugar cravings etc. Basically, it's going low carb and high protein. It does get us jump started. I have about 10 lbs to loss for my goal of 140 lbs and it's slow as molasses, but I will get there. Hang in there and keep your diet high protein and low carb from here on out. This is a life time practice. -
Such a weird statement to make. I would rather have my jiggles any day than my fat. And yes, even though we are skinny, we are still very self conscious about our bodies, even though we are so sexy! We just have more character. LOL. You people don't realize how such stupid comments can really hurt a person's feelings. Shame on them. Your daughter is a beautiful young lady!

Diabetic
Ms skinniness replied to lovelyladynhouston's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm diabetic and it didn't slow my healing down. -
Gas can mimic hunger. Are you taking a PPI like omeprazole, nexium, tagamet? Ask your surgeon if it would be ok.

Feeling No Restriction Had Vsg June 7Th
Ms skinniness replied to hope2bfree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, I see you have been sleeved on June 7. Sometimes you won't feel any constriction if your on the liquid phase of the diet. When you start eating foods that are more denser, you will probably feel some constriction. It will happen, and CONGRATS on your successful sleeve surgery. Sorry about the confusion before. -

I'm confused as to why you don't feel constriction if you haven't been sleeved? Have you been sleeved? So sorry that I am confused. -
Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?
Ms skinniness replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Coops ~ it is so good to hear how your doing. It sucks to have the scale stuck for 8 months! You are having a lot of losses in the past 4 months, not including your young student before that. What do you do with your emotions? Do you stuff them? I know you talk with your dear hubby and it has been helpful. Sometimes it might not help to talk with someone so close to you. Anyhoo, I hope you work through some of this baggage. You have done very well on losing weight up until October. You look fantastic in your pics! You are pretty skinny as it is. I know that weight loss will happen because you are a very determined beautiful lady. You are working hard to lose it. I know that the next 10 lbs for me will be very slow. I feel great right now and I am struggling with the fear of gaining weight back. I see that I can eat much more now and when I make a bad choice like eating a portion of a mini small Dreyer's ice cream, I gain weight. go figure. So I'm asking myself what it would mean if I actually couldn't lose any more weight, can I be happy. Well, yes, I feel so much better and I look really good also. This is what I was seeking. I remember seeing you in your green jeans and wow, you looked really skinny! You still do! You are a success as far as I'm concerned. Hang in there and I'm going to start a topic on me some day really soon, I just need to sit down and write what I'm thinking and also organize it. LOL Hang in there, you fantastic! -
I went back to work 1 week later and it was no problem.

I struggle with exercise too. Today I walked in the park and looked at all the wild life. There were so many people out exercising. I do need to get myself back to the gym really soon. Like yesterday. I like the idea of this topic. Thanks Oregondaisy.

Ditto for Lissa. Today I am a tag team with Lissa, LOL. Just take 1 day at a time. Discuss with the doctor the reasons for the endoscopy. It won't be for 6 to 1 year post op so I really wouldn't even think about it. Remember, just take 1 day at a time and you will do fine. Let the anxiety go.

Yep, I can usually get 4 to 5 bites of something and then I'm totally done. I feel full to the brim. But now I look at how good I look and how great I feel, and it's all worth it. Try not to focus on the amount. Just enjoy every bit that you can have now. Savor each bite. You will be thankful as time goes by. We really don't need to eat a lot of food to survive. Your doing great by the way. Keep it up.

Help With Overeating
Ms skinniness replied to tinfoil_heroine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lissa is totally right! You could try measuring your food out. And put all your food away. Try doing something while your eating ie I'm on the computer checking messages while I'm having a meal. I make sure i pick up my fork, get the food and put the fork down and wait. You have a horrible habit that has affected you up until now. now if you can't do all these things, then eat with your left hand if your right handed. Take the time to make a conscious decision on whether or not your hungry. It takes approximately 28 days to change a habit. You really need to work on changing this habit. Always try to eat less. I know, it's not very fun, but you can do this.
