One Year Out .. Want TT & BBL

Thank you for the great and informative answers to my question about what to expect w/ my TT next Tuesday ????It is very appreciated and is helping me plan a bit of aftercare. This site has become a real comfortable place for me to hear and share real life issues. I am thankful to have "friends" I've never met.

One Year Out .. Want TT & BBL

I am scheduled for a TT next Tuesday Could anyone help me understand how much down time I need? Is it truly painful ? Can I make it up the stairs? I will meet once more w/ the doc Monday And ask more but true life experience beats all. Thank you
  3. Greetings There is a WLS group that meets once a month downtown on market st. It is led by Tara griffin or Griffith I believe I live too far to continue, but really liked the people and moderator Maybe look on Facebook for her Good luck!

    Stuck

Dh It is a running thread how fickle our band can be.... For me....Just when I think I have a good formula. It surprises me. The exact same food, Water, etc After all these years... Protein drinks seem the least likely to irritate my band. And fish. Go figure Good luck....keep us posted????
  6. Add me to the quest bandwagon. Would love to receive them at home???? And sample packs are interesting; often I need to try something first before buying a quantity. Could be a new addition to this site that I check in on almost every day????

Trouble eating anything in the am

Same here girls. After trying for years to eat something in the morning, I'm resigned to liquids (protein drink or bar)until my band opens up.... Around 2 or 3 or so .... Then I get my protein meal and veges in. Around 6 or 7 a bit more protein and maybe a carb Maybe a bar after dinner Nothing too close to bed assist of us have experienced Glad it is not just me with a stubborn band in the AM
  8. Thanks for someone else with the hot/cold thing ! My feet get so cold I've used the hair dryer to warm up. I get sweaty and throw the covers off and then I'm cold... Repeat After I eat,I heat up for a while thankfully 8 1/2 years post op. Done w/ menopause 2 years ago or so. Just my issue after losing weight. Glad I'm not the only one????
  9. I found that the apprehension was worse than the real deal! I think You will wake up tomorrow and be so happy to start anew! Not being a slave to hunger.... Not obsessing about food and weight and yes looks... I believe surgery made my life soooo much easier and I truly hope that for you. Best wishes. Keep posting????

    People need to Calm Down....Relax

Really good post B Took some of us quite a while to learn to live with our band. A real re education of some life long habits After years, I hope it stays second nature to eat right and make good choices???? Ps. Don't call when you awaken at 4 AM. Haha
  12. I think many of us had some trepidation with surgery... I did also Just read that there is far more complications and yes higher mortality rate with a knee replacement Tomorrow will be better????

    Banders #6

Have a blast in Florida. ????Hopeful for you that warm sun makes your cold go away...for some reason, heat is very kind to my band. Something to consider as I get older... Obviously the snow birds and retirees get it... Ps it finally rained in California... Still gonna have water rationing and lots if dead lawns. Lawns may become a thing of the past... I hope so in arid climates. I know.. Just me

    My 600 pound life

I,too, find the 600 lb life series oddly addicting... Being on the other side of surgery adds a fascinating component to it I do not however pretend to know what life is like at an ultra morbidly obese weight. It appears very hard and socially confining. Odd that the outings they show for the clients pre surgery are almost all to the GROCERY store... With choices that show how addicting horrible food can be. I am so thankful to be removed from the head-hunger-overeat-repeat cycle that I thank bariatric surgery !????
  15. Yep. There are a lot of us. Ahem.. Mature people on this site. Surely I would have done this in my 30's if it was available But 51 worked for my life... Now 60 and happy and healthy Good luck no matter what decade you start at !????

    Stuck

Some people try hot tea... Lying on left side .. I have read others try to "unstick" by walking with their hands above their head. Surely, liquids or maybe yogurt for at least 10 hours helped me. But the goal is to learn, I think, and try to not get stuck again... It took me years to get into a groove with my band....best of luck and keep posting????

    Banders #6

Good for you Debbie. I'm not about perfect numbers. And after 8+ years it is not likely I'll reach a number my dr picked. But I like size 12!! Our lives have been profoundly changed and I am grateful????
  18. Thanks for the info. Getting ready for a flat stomach. Not seen since having kids 25+ years ago. Gosh. Really on the fence about a face lift at same time. Lots of surgery at once but only one recovery period Son's wedding in 3+ months Hmmmmm any advice?

    fingers and toes

There is a product called "ring bling" that you put on your finger under your ring so they don't slip off. They are temporary and come on packs of 15 or so. I used them til I stabilized and had some rings redone ... Or go way back to high school and wrap yarn or thread on the inside. Ha

Would you have WLS again? What kind?

I hope we are all here to be better with our WLS. Lots of fun , tips , banter and advice. We ALL say take what you need and add what you can. Some of us have been at this awhile and I appreciate what others bring us Let us be kind ????
  21. Thanks for sharing! I have 2 weeks until my tummy tuck and am hoping for a good recovery. Can you share anything that would enlighten me on procedure , readiness, pain, aftercare? Much appreciated????

    Having the poop issues again

Cheese seems to back me up. And I like string cheese. So "smooth move" tea for me. Keeps the plumbing moving for me. Prunes too are helpful Best of luck????
  23. I particularly related to the post on the level of parents wanting us to be "better". Felt to me like " not good enough". I know they tried the best they knew... But telling a 13 yr old to diet and getting diet pills set up years of adult up and down weight gain and loss. I look at old family pics and damn. I was good enough... Just didn't get the message from anyone. Sigh
