    Will I feel normal again?

It is truly a different way of living. And eating especially
  2. Following. Please keep us posted. Like many, I want a life long band ... but. It sometimes does not work that way. Fingers crossed at 10 years and counting

This month is good Well. Down 3 lbs. then up 5. Sigh. Some things rarely change.... spring is nice with tons of wildflowers from the excessive rains Happy Moms day to those who mother anything[emoji93]
  4. My take is we are all very different. Some are compliant. Some not so much. Some lose a lot. Others small amounts... The commonality is we are trying to change some fundamental issues we individually have. I don't see posters here as one or two types. I think there are varied audiences. Many hover and don't post Some post every meal... Gotta take the informative with the sometimes ignorant.

Bored With Weight Loss. Recipe for regain?

I often think this way. Getting to a comfortable weight and size is sooo personal. 12 is great for me. (10's in a good month) but I'm not willing to struggle super hard daily. I eat right and work out and feel just right where I am After 10 + years, and at 60 + age. I'm good right here

Trouble with all meat since January 9 2017

Well. For me. Fish is one of the only proteins ( and baked tofu which almost no one likes) that ALWAYS agrees with me. Wish it was chicken at times ...

    For the 45+ crowd

Really nice to hear from a seasoned vet !! Ya. Some months are very hard. Some procedures are harder than others. But I wouldn't trade it for my past life for anything!

    Any tips on chewing slowly?

This is one of my hardest lessons. Even years out. I get hungry and proceed too fast. Sometimes it won't stay down. Then I am even hungrier... work in progress
  9. I would not have believed how much I like pre baked teriyaki tofu. Not the block in water kind, but drier... in packages, kind of shrink wrapped I found it in the heath food store. Tastes do change I suppose

Wow. With the exit of so many vets...

    We missed your posts

No, I don't want no SCALE

I did not own a scale post wls. For years. I weighed at my dr appt. it did me well. in the last year, I have decided every week (or 2) on a Friday morning, I will check in... I'm finding it is what I want to know now.... years later. But only occasionally
  12. Julie norton

How often so you weigh in?

I try for every Friday morning... I really have a sense this many years out if my clothes are fitting well and how hard it is to do a decent work out. But I try to keep a baseline

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

10 years and 100 lbs. changed my life. Banded 12/06
  14. I did not tell anyone but my spouse 10 years ago. My adult kids were at college The subject rarely comes up now as I seem " normal" sized. I will discuss it if someone is serious about wls, but otherwise it is just how I live my life: high protein... exercise... water... Repeat for years. (Banded 12/06) very thankful Ps. Don't think I don't stumble often like everyone. I do. Life is hard and good choices can be hard some days.sigh

Good news, (and we want to see a pic from the upcoming graduation [emoji310] next month .) Thanks for reminding me to be thankful that 95% of my clothes fit 95% the time. I forget how I used to have such a wide range of sizes because I was such a wide range of body shapes. Sharpie now has a teenagers flat stomach... wow..happy for you..(a bit on the painful side?) . life keeps changing And I hope we keep healing ladies.

    encouragement needed

I still find it challenging to eat slowly and chew at least 20 times. Yes. 10 Years out and I still have to remind myself.. And I need to keep my personal problem foods out of the house.. Tomorrow is another day Scarlett And I'll try again. I will not go back!!!

    hello

Many years out, I can have popcorn occasionally. ( I am a bander) It is not recommended for those tiny sleeve stitches for awhile ... others can probably answer this better. Good luck

HOW LONG BEFORE THE WEIGHT LOSS STOPS?

Enjoy your new low weight. !! Many of us find there is a bounce range and our original low weight often is difficult to stay and maintain. Maintenance is a bit tricky but is doable. You have changed your life ... and I congratulate you on your victory!

    When does eating feel "normal"?

Yes. Eating slowly and chewing well are lessons that hit me in the stomach. Literally. If I don't heed them.. I use a lot of soups and stews this far out. I get liquid and my body doesn't seem to reject it. Beans and split peas. Who would have guessed? Not me ( banded 12/06)

Glad we are all here and get to chat about the twists and turns our lives take. (I think we might be getting older when we chat about dr stuff!) I am recovering from a pelvic injury... had 3 cortisone shots today and so far.... much less pain. Weigh in tomorrow... thinking it won't be where I want it.... so goes another week in banded life. I also hosted Easter JWM [emoji195]with help from the family and am glad I did. The chocolate called my name and I'm thankful it is gone!!
  22. Really not as bad as you might guess.... and refried beans also helped me a lot
  23. The best way I can explain my relationship with food after 10 years post band..... it really doesn't interest me. Amazing coming from someone who shopped and cooked for my family daily Now they are grown and gone..... sort of like my appetite. Shrunk and not coming back!!

    NSV and SV!

You must feel so much healthier and I'm guessing you maneuver in this world much better at your new low weight. Congratulations [emoji324][emoji898][emoji322] you look great. And " normal". Whatever that is I hope we all understand that term in this crazy world!
