  1. Hello all!!

I have scheduled a plastic surgery, and of course i will do whatever my lapband surgeon recommends, but i was just wondering if anyone had experience with this. Do i need to be loosened prior to surgery? I love the level that im at, i think ive finally reached my sweet spot. The plastic surgeon specializes in post weight loss plastic surgery and said that hes never recommended to loosen the band and that his patients never had a problem. I have an appointment with my band surgeon and will ask him,, but has anyone had surgery without being loosened?

    Thanks!

  3. so, just an update. My doctor did tell me to get unfilled if i was still throwing up, but havent in days. The swelling is def going down, just a little extra tight in the morning and still sticking to mushy foods. He has an office right by my job on that he goes to on Thursdays, so I can go see him if i feel i need the unfill. Thanks tho!!

  4. Hi all! I was filled almost 2 months ago, and i was finally at a level that i was happy with, possibly my sweet spot =) however, last week i caught some kind of bug that was making me throw up and i believe it just caused me to swell REALLLLY bad. this was Thursday. Over the weekend i kept it simple with warm liquids and applesauce, sometimes it would go down, sometimes it wouldnt. This morning I sipped tea, but i can still feel that I'm very tight. I left a message with my surgeon explaining the situation and asking if he thinks I should be loosened or not. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a stomach bug and shared this experience??? i would hate to get loosened as I really like this level that i am at (prior to getting sick). I am kind of hoping that maybe the swelling will lesson, but i also dont want to take any risks...... any suggestions are much appreciated!!

  5. Hi everyone! I will have been banded a year the end of November. I was a pound away from 40 lost for about 2 weeks. I would work out anywhere from 3-4 times a week, mostly cardio. I went on vacation and then took another week off from the gym. I started up again this week and I've been up an extra 3-4 pounds! All I've done since I've been back to the gym is te elliptical, so disappointing to keep being up instead of losing, any thoughts?? And I have been eating healthy.

  6. Hi all!!! I have my third fill Monday and I can't wait! I'm at 4.5 cc's in a 10cc band. I have little restriction and any weight I lose is from counting calories and walking on the treadmill. I know it will get better when I hit restriction. I was just wondering at what amount did people feel good restriction? I know everyone is different and will have different levels but im just curious =)

  7. Hi all!! So I made a Protein Shake smoothie for dinner, , I like to add ice and about a tablespoon of Peanut Butter and blend to make it really thick. I completely forgot and started sipping through a straw. I didn't realize till about halfway through and then I stopped. Now I remember the nutritionist saying not to drink through a straw because you will get too much of a drink at once. But I was sipping really slow and didn't have any negative reaction to the straw. Is it normal that I can drink through the straw? I am also not at full restriction yet,, maybe that's why??

  8. Hi all!! I was banded on 11/18/11. I lost about 5 pounds post surgery and have literally been stuck there for a month! I got my first fill on 12/19 of 3cc in a 10 cc band. I recently started going to the gym about 5 days a week just walking and doing the elliptical. I also used myfitnesspal and post to keep about 1000 calories a day. I'm still stuk at the same weight,, could my body still be adjusting, not only to surgery but to working out and eating less calories? Also me calories ate not all carbs at all!! What do you guys think? Its so discouraging to be putting so much into this and have the scale not move, especially so early on! Any tips are greatly appreciated!
