    Did I mess up?

It probably didnt hurt anything...but follow your doctor's plan....just because something didnt happen the first time doesnt mean you cant end up in emergency if you try solid food too early again.... DOnt rush the process.....take it one day at a time, the weeks will fly by
  3. tomorrow is my 6 month post-op appt....I pray everything goes well

  4. when I was first post-op....the smell of food turned me off, I would have to leave a room because the smell was too awful....

    I Have A Date!

Hey the pre-op diet is hard....everyone who had to do it can atest to that....just stay focused on what you desire....a healthier life, the first 3 days will be hard, you will hit what I call "the wall" and on day 4 it will become easier.... Just think of the pre-op diet as it getting you ready for the eating stages after the surgery (which it is)
  8. praying that the scale moves down some more this week....it pretty much stayed in one place last week.....

    Uh Oh...buffet Invite

With the sleeve, you have to release your mind from thinking about food all the time...eating out is about socializing with people...not the food...so if you want to spend time with the people, go...if not, then dont go...
  10. Hey, I know someone else has asked about this, I just could'nt find the thread, so I will ask again.... How long is the "honeymoon period"?? Some have told me the first 6 months, while others have told me the first year. What have you been told??

    Honeymoon Period

Oh, ok...well, I was told by my NUT to make the most of this first year, and I will be 6 months post op on December 11th... I've lost 66 pounds since surgery, 81 all together....I'm hoping I can lose the next half of my weight by my birthday, June of next year....it would be an amazing 35th birthday present!! But I read an article today that stated that RNY patients have 1 year to 18 months, but VSG patients may have a shorter period of time because there wasn't any re-routing of the intestines....which lead me to this question... I pray I still have another 6 months to lose big....I've been working my tail off the last 5 months!

  15. My sleeve is slightly bigger than the typical sleeve, the top part of my stomach dilated from years of having a too tight lapband...and instead of cutting that part out, my doctor left it and cut the rest of my stomach out....at first I couldn't eat 1/3 of a cup of food at a time....5 months post op now, I can eat between 3/4 cup of food at a time
  16. Today makes 5 months post-op revision for me...I've lost 65 pounds since surgery/80 pounds since starting the liquid diet....its been an amazing journey, I hope to lose another 20 pounds by 6 months post-op (Dec 11th) I can do it!!!!

Are There Any Single Sleevers Out There..

you are right, life is much easier being single and in school...honestly for the next 2 years I'm more interested in finishing then dating...but if I'm asked out, I will not turn it down but if I'm not asked out, I'm ok with that too....
