Using Spark People And My Fitness Planner

I've used Sparkpeople for 6 months, every day religiously for my nutritionist part of the pre-surgery. I really like it, and you can customize it any way you want it. It's very user friendly I've thought. I will keep using it after lap band to help me make sure i'm getting enough of what I need in with the reduced intake. Look me up... tabithalynn78. If you have any specific questinos maybe I can help. Tabby.

    NSV - Bras

Jealous! But hopeful. I thought that was only my dream. And Victoria Secret workout pants with writing on the butt (i.e. Juicy?), I will wear those just because I can! LOL.

    Dr. Neal in Olympia, WA

I am using Dr. Neal. At first his office wasn't really returning calls or helping me, but then they recently got a new office girl Mary Jo, she is fantastic. Constantly calling me, the insurance company, helping come up with ways to simplify things and get the insurance to approve quicker and easier for me. It's like she personally wants me to get this even though we've never met. At first I did feel just like another patient, but since mary Jo got involved, it's been wonderful. Also, I just went to his office for my first visit, Dr.Neal checked me in, did my vitals, my paperwork, and put me on the calendar. He was so upbeat and ready to do this thing, for me! Now- my brother had Dr. Neal a few years ago and his surgery had a complication and he had to go back in the next day and have lap band switched out- but he still only had good things to say about Dr. Neal and how it seemed Dr. Neal truly felt bad about the situation. My bro has gone on to lose 100 pounds, so good job! I also notice Dr. Neal gives his patients his phone number pesonally to call anytime. He said in his seminar to call him and he can meet you in his office day or night if there's a problem such as stuck food. I am so glad I got referred to him- and so excited for my lap band at the end of this month. Hope that helps! Tabby

To Tell Or Not To Tell About Lap Band ???

Bekh86- above post. I must just be really emotional lately d/t upcoming band, but I feel like that is exactly how it is. I have had to work with nutritionist for 6 months and do exercise plan for 6 months before hand, and of course I told everyone, bad mistake. Because you do get the 'you look great!' but it's ALWAYS followed by 'how much have you lost.' You're absolutely right. And then followed by 'why get the surgery if you're already losing weight...' I just want to say a 100% agree with your post, it is always nice to find someone who feels the same way- we're not in it alone! Thank you and Good luck.

    Banded This Morning

Congrats and I'm jealous, LOL. Made me think of mine coming up. I hope to be up to being on here that day too. GOod luck!
  6. Mine was Friday. I was so nervous but tried to pretend I wasn't. When I got there it was just the surgeon and an office clerk. He did all my paperwork, took my vitals, assessed me and put me ont the calendar for my date. So it was kind of anti-climactic, but it's done. Hopefully next time I see him it will be for surgery. So how'd it go?

To Tell Or Not To Tell About Lap Band ???

That's against the law. Although considering its a small business I'm sure you won't do anything about that (I would just let it go.) For your boss to share your medical information with others, HIPAA violation big time! So sorry that you have to deal with that. But you'll show them all! Good luck to you.
  8. I'm doing the exact same thing. It is because I want to eat now what I won't be able to eat later. I feel like "I can eat this now, I haven't been able to during the last 6 months with the nutritionist (insurance requierement), and I won't be able to after the lap band." I am putting on a few of the pounds I had lost on my own, but i don't care! We're all trying to move in the right directions, so what if we reward ourselves once in a while. Just keep moving forward. Good luck to you, you're nto alone on this one! Tabby.
