Why My Size Is The Same
I'm sooooo glad to hear all of you are going through the same thing as I am!!! Just 2 weeks ago I finally had to get rid of some of my clothes and that was when I hit 60 lbs loss!!! I wear nothing but dresses to work and sundresses at home so I understand it's not the same as pants but 60lbs! Are you serious? It took me losing 60lbs to drop a dress size???!!!! I have been so discouraged until now. Thanks for the posts!!!

Tomorrow Is My Dig Day! Excites, Nervous But More Excited :)
CONGRATULATIONS ON CHANGING YOUR LIFE FOREVER!!! How exciting for you! I remember having the same feelings including being scared to death. It was 100% worth it and I would do it all over again and recommend it to anyone that has weight problems. I can't wait to see a picture of you 6 months from now!!! Good luck on your journey!!

Is This Working ?
You are doing great!!! Yes, you lose the most weight in the beginning stages but the beginning stage is about the first 3 months. I started to lose more when I increased my calories. I know it's a scary thing to do but it really does work. You have to keep your metabolism up to burn calories so if you're not eating enough you won't lose as much. Don't sweat it....just keep your eyes on your goal and it will happen!

Will Your Sleeve Hold More Liquids Than Solid Food?
Dorrie is absolutely correct! I can drink up to 20 ounces of liquids at any given time but I can only eat about 6 oz of solids. I seem to be able to eat more solids than most people on here which has always concerned me but I am still losing at a good rate so it just goes to show that everyone is different.

Self Pay: Is It All That It Seems?
My surgery costs were right in line with 5DoxieMom. There were no hidden costs. The paperwork that my surgeon had me sign stated every possible cost. Good luck!

Getting Nervous
GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY! Take a LOT of pictures...it is my only regret. I took about 10 and it wasn't enough. You will want many showing yourself in different outfits (including a bathing suit) and many different angles to really see the difference.

Stomach Cramps! Help!
You should always call your doc when you think something isn't right...but...I had horrible stomach cramps everytime I drank something cold, hot or a dairy product and learned real quick to warm things up. Sounds like you might have become lactose intolerant.

Seriously Im Outta Control! This Might Be Tmi

Paranoid About Getting Sick
I had a horrible chest cold/bronchitis 2 weeks before surgery and was on an antibiotic when I was operated on. My doc told me that I would be fine through surgery and it wasn't postponed. Everything went well. If you start to feel like you are coming down with a cold call your surgeon immediately so they can possibly put you on something so that the surgery doesn't have to be postponed. Good luck!

Realistically When Can I Go To The Beach
4 or even 3 weeks out from your surgery will be fine. I went back to work 1 week after surgery. There is really little to no pain after the first week. I didn't have any pain at all but a lot of people have it for 1 to 2 weeks out. You will be fine. You will be able to walk and everything. Stairs are a little painful going up for a couple of weeks but not much more than that. You won't have as much energy but it doesn't take a lot of energy to walk down to the beach to sit or lay down. You will be amazed at how fast you recover. I wouldn't postpone the trip if I were you. You will be ready to get out of the house and have a little fun....you will deserve it!!! Good luck in your journey!

I've Failed.
DO NOT GIVE UP!!! Try to remember why you had the VSG. It is VERY hard to keep focused. I fight the urge to eat junk food everyday but I refuse to continue to be fat. Have you signed up on myfitnesspal.com? It helps keep me from lying to myself on the foods that I'm choosing to eat. You are a beautiful woman...can you imagine what you are going to look like when you're thin???!!! Sounds like you have emotional eating problems just like me. I have not sought counseling yet but will if my weight doesn't continue to drop because I know that is where my overeating has stemmed from. Perhaps it's something you should look in to before you completely self sabotage your weight goals. Good luck and no matter what....just keep trying!!!

Lozenges/hard Candy On Post-Op Liquid/mushy Diet?
Chicagochic is correct...Hard candy is not a hard food since it goes down as a liquid. Be VERY CAREFUL not to accidentally swallow one! My doc didn't even want me to chew gum because of the possibility of accidentally swallowing it and creating an obstruction. Good luck!

Omg Extra Skin Already?
I'm 56 lbs down and am noticing a LOT of loose skin! I am a member of a gym and exercise regularly so I'm hoping to firm some of it up....if it doesn't....I'd rather be skinny with loose skin than fat and fluffy!

How Much Pudding/yogurt/soup?
When you are on liquids your stomach can hold a LOT more than 2 oz. I was told that you cannot stretch your stomach out. My doc said that your stomach will never stretch out. I don't know how true that is but I trust my doc. I can tell you that once you get on full foods you will not be able to eat all that you want and you'll understand when you are full. I didn't worry about how much I ate until I got to the full foods stage and even now I don't worry because my stomach won't let me eat very much! You will always be able to drink more than you can eat and if it's "slider" foods (anything mushy, soft, liquid) you will be able to eat a lot more than you need to. Good luck!

Feeling Full
Yes, it is completely normal. You won't be eating "normal" until about 3-4 months out and even then it will never be the same as it use to. The feeling of being full with the big bubble is your stomach readjusting to food/liquid in it. It will take some time to go away. It took about 3-4 weeks for mine to leave. You will eventually know when you are hungry. Good luck on your journey!
