Kim Lap Band Talk got a reaction from 2muchfun in Army Ten Miler
So in 2009 I had surgery and now I just signed up for the Army Ten Miler to benefit the Fisher House. I've always wanted to do this but wouldn't have been able to without the surgery. I'm down 100+ lbs from my highest weight and pretty close to my next weight loss goal (yes I've had a few goals).
The Fisher House provides lodging for families of wounded soldiers. If you can donate shoot me a message and I'll send you my donation link.

My friend asked me to go to this restaurant on our birthday but I can't make it. I just looked at the pricing and they have a special pricing structure for bypass patients. I have never seen that before! Not quite right for the band (I sent an email asking if they can change it to bariatric surgery pricing) but it's still pretty cool.

Kim Lap Band Talk got a reaction from Sunshyne068 in Dc, Md, Va Residents: New Meetup Group Started By A Lap Bander
We started an activity group for people of all shapes and sizes in the DC, MD, VA area. I would like to have other bariatric surgery patients as members
    http://www.meetup.co...l-shapes-sizes/
Upcoming activities include a clothing swap, free yoga class, international pillow fight day, evening of jazz, brunch, krav maga intro lesson, dinner, a trip to the beaches of North Carolina for hang gliding etc.
Welcome to the Washington DC, MD, and VA Kick A.S.S. Group where we welcome and host activities for men and women of All Shapes, Sizes (A.S.S.)! If you are averaged size or you’ve ever felt self-conscious about being the biggest girl or smallest guy (or vice versa) at an event or if you don’t think you can do something because of your weight this group will show you that you can! Whether you are secure at your current weight or looking to gain or lose weight this group is for you.
This group will plan the standard fare events like dinners, brunches, movies, clothing swaps, potluck parties, wine tastings, and museum-outings as well as more adventurous events that may challenge you in new ways, like zip lining, zumba, kickball, climbing a rock wall, taking dance classes etc. If you haven’t done those activities before the best way to start is with other newbies like us! And if you’re afraid that you might fail at an activity don’t worry we’ll all make an A.S.S. out of ourselves together. The weather is starting to get nice! Once it warms up we will have a beginner outdoor series that will include easy hikes, walks, bike rides, and camping. We’ll take it at a slow pace suitable for everyone and take breaks as needed. Love to travel? Get ready to pack your bags for the beach, weekend road-trips, and maybe Greece this year.

I won't be getting plastic surgery so I was wondering if there are any products out exist like "excess skin duct tape" that could be used to lift up skin. I'm particularly worried about a dance costume that I have to wear.

I've never been a fan of buffets because I'm vegetarian. When we went to Vegas my friends didn't understand why I didn't want to pay $30 for some heavy buffet when i'd probably just end up eating salad. They've never been worth it for me, especially not now.

This has happened to me, especially going up steps. Oh and I also raised my arm once and my bra lifted up because the back was too big.

I didn't feel restriction until 6 months after surgery and 9.5 cc in my band. I was frustrated too. But now I'm two pounds from a normal BMI so it will work if you hang in there.

What you are considering is a trend that has already begun. There are numerous of websites where one can trade and/or give away personal items with/to others online. One particular name for a reputable website does not come to mind; however, there is Rehashclothes.com, Dig N Swap, Bigwardrobe.com, Swapstyle, thredUP, and Close Infinite among many others. Check them out thoroughly before you start your trading. Hope this helps...
