    Overseas Travel

    We are going to Uganda for missions. I will also be traveling with a RN. I just really don't want to start all over. I feel like its going so slow as it is. But the food thing worries me a little. Or the getting sick because of the food. I never get sick so I don't know how my band would react to it.

    I am going to be flying to Africa in June for three weeks. This is my fist flight anywhere. Does having the band make it difficult? Also my doctor mentioned taking the fluid out of my band before I go. It has taken me a year to just now get to the right spot and I don't want them to take any out. What do you think? Any thing that might make any of this easier?

    Do you think that having ADD affects you weight loss? Just something I was wondering. Do any of you have ADD and struggle with weight loss even with your band? Thanks.
  5. For almost two weeks now I have been going to the gym for about two hours. Working on the treadmill, stair stepper, and the bike for 30 min each or more and weights. Why hasn't my scale went down? I had only been working out for about 45 min at a time. I thought for sure this would step it up. I don't think I'm eating to much. I would think that if I didn't have the band and was doing what I am I would be loosing. I just don't get it. And when I get really discouraged I want to run to food so I'm trying to be good. I'm just sad.
  6. I asked my doctor and she told me to ask people who have had this done. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with not being interested in sex much after loosing weight? I have never had this problem but it seems like the last month or so since I have started exercising more I just couldn't care less about it. Any thoughts?

    Exercise question?

    That's what I have been doing 5-6 days a week. Today it was 40 minutes and 445 calories. I also just bought Zumba this week. I just can't seen to get the scale to move.

    I was just wondering what types of exercise everyone is doing. Which one has helped you loose weight and keep it off? How often do you exercise and for how long? Thanks a lot.

    Thanks everyone. It's just hard to go into the doctors office feeling like you have done a good job and then get a lot negative feed back. I know I'm loosing because I have dropped two sizes and inches. I would just like for my doctor to see that I'm trying.

    Thanks both of you. It's nice to know I can get on here and hear what I need to. I am trying to really get active and see if that helps. Knowing that I have changed my life so much I would think that alone would keep things going good. I just need to not fall back into old habits and get discouraged.

    I got my lap band in May. People ask me all the time if I would do it again and what the worst part is. Yes I would do it again. I know I would still be gaining weight if I had not. And to me the worst part is that it is slower than I thought it would be. I have only lost 25 lbs. And I know that is better that gaining even an oz. but I thought it would be more by now. I have had 3 fills and I do not know how much is in my band, they will not tell me. I had broke my foot and I am just now getting back to exercising. I think what make's this so hard is that it seems like my doctor is never happy. I say I am walking almost 4 miles she tells me I should be doing 5. I say I am go the elliptical for 25-30 min. I hear it should be longer. I went for a fill the other day and I had only lost a couple of oz. I had just got back from vacation. And she said I hadn't lost enough for a fill. And I need to work harder and come back in 4 weeks. And I should only be eating 1/2 C. of food 3 times a day, no snacking. I feel so week when I do that. She said I should be eating no more 500 - 700 cals. a day. Am I being a big baby? Am I not working hard enough? This is my first time to write anything so sorry if it's a lot. Thanks for your thoughts.
