    Is it normal?!

Yes, it will take a while before you won't have anymore pain while exercising. Just take it easy, and work your way up to it. I had to take a break from exercising because of a tummy tuck, but soon I will be doing crazy amounts of sit-ups, and crunches to get that six pack going!
  2. Congratulations! Once you become a mama it is hard to think about doing anything for yourself. I totally understand this way of thinking. However, this will make a huge impact on your children as well. You will be able to run, jump, and skip with them as they grow up. They will be able to wrap their arms around your waist, and be so proud that they can do that. You have to remember that not only are you doing this to feel better about yourself, but also so that you will be around for them, through graduation, college, marriage, and then when they have babies of their own. The sleeve was the best decision of my life, and soon you will come to realize it is the best decision of yours too! Good luck to you!

2 weeks post op - need advice

Use a medicine cup. Fill it up every half an hour. Sip on it till it is gone...then repeat. If you do this all day, you will be getting the required amount of fluids everyday. Also....as for getting the protein in....it is hard in the beginning...but at Walmart they have these protein shots. They have 27 grams of protein in each one. I would get them really cold....almost frozen, and then drink those. The fruit punch is the best flavor. They aren't the greatest tasting, but that is why I got them really cold. It makes it a lot easier to get the required protein in. Good luck!

Morbidly Obese Toddler Undergoes Gastric Bypass Surgery

I was once at a Burger King with my family....as a treat. We don't frequently allow our children to eat fast food, because it is unhealthy. There was a family there that had two children that were both obese. One of the kids had just finished eating his super sized adult meal, and said to his dad that he was still hungry, so the dad went up to the counter and ordered the kid another adult sized meal! I was floored! It was all I could do not to strange those parents! Because of my genetics I have always been super conscious to male sure that my children always eat healthy food, and to know about portions. I rarely allow junk food in the house, but when I do the kids know that not only do they have to ask before they are allowed to have any, but they also know that they have to get a snack sized baggy to put the junk food into, to make sure they don't eat to much. Some may think I am being to harsh, or overly protective....but I don't want my children to ever be obese. I truly believe it is child abuse to allow your children to constantly eat junk food, and not teaching them about portions and nutrition. In my opinion it is just as bad as providing them with drugs and alcohol. Parents need to wake up about their child's eating habits. This generation is the first one that the life span of adults will be longer then the life span of the kids! That is so sad! It truly is heart breaking!

    Best scale

I am a firm believer in not weighing in very often. I measure instead...also I go by how my clothes fit. Those numbers on the s ale can drive you crazy! When you are working out, and eating more protein you can easily not drop any weight, but be losing inches because of exchanging fat for muscle. While a pound of muscle and a pound of fat weigh just that...a pound, the pound of muscle takes up less space, and therefore your number on the scale may be the same, but the size you are can change. I'm not sure if I am making any sense....but that is what I go by. Good luck to you!

    Open sleevers?

I decided not to tell anyone. Most people, when they ask me how I lost the weight...which I say, eating a lot less, low calorie, low carb, and high protein ( which is all the truth) usually answer me by saying, " oh I am so glad you did it the right way." I have found out that a lot of people consider having wls as cheating, or losing weight the " wrong way". It is very irritating to me how negative people can be about wls. When someone gets a heart bypass are they cheating by having that surgery? No, they are saving their life! That is how I view wls...it saved my life. I couldn't have gotten healthy without it. I am very happy that I chose to keep it to myself. I really don't think it is anyone's business what surgeries I have had. I am happy that you have had such a positive experience with telling everyone though. Wish I could have been as brave as you!

    I am soooo thirsty!

I didn't feel that way pre op...but I sure did post op. I wanted to be able to gulp water down like crazy post op....I have always been a water gulper, and for about 6 months all I could do was sip sip sip. I felt like I was going to go crazy! Thankfully that doesn't last forever, and I can gulp water down again. Just keep drinking as much as you can, it helps you. Good luck with your surgery, and recovery!

    well well well

You learn pretty quick what not to do with the sleeve! Lol....you will be able to eat that stuff again one day, but for now you got to take it easy! I don't miss that stage of recovery at all! I am two years and one month out now and I have learned ( almost to a science) exactly what I can and cannot handle. I still have so much restriction that it is really easy to maintain my weight. I feel so lucky to have gotten the sleeve. It was the best thing I could have ever done for myself! Good luck to you!

    66 Pounds Down!

You are looking fantabulous! Keep up the great work!
  10. I have the same insurance. They changed the requirements since I had my surgery, and now they require a six month supervised diet. The good news is that the surgery didn't cost me a thing. The only thing I had to pay was the $15 dollar copay for doctors visits, which added up to $45 for the whole thing for me. Good luck girl!

Morbidly Obese Toddler Undergoes Gastric Bypass Surgery

Wow! Just wow! That child should have been taken away from his parents, period. It is child abuse to over feed your child. It isn't cute, or funny! This is just sad sad sad! That poor child is a victim!

    Skin Elasticity?

I just turned 37 last week, but I feel like I am 22 again! Lol.....I made sure to drink water as often as I could, and it has helped me tremendously! I have no problem walking around in a sleeveless shirt, and short shorts! Hehe....my daughters friends ( that are guys and are 18) told her I was a milf! Oh my god, was I embarrassed when she told me that! Hehe
  13. i have been trying to be good. eat my protein and then some fruit or veggies. however when i eat the protein it hurts. i feel all gassy like im gonna burp barf everywhere. i have been taking my time, chewing well, but i still feel this way. i am able to eat other things without this pain/gas, but when its meat or cheese i feel sick from it. i cant do the protein shakes, i hate them. yes im on a ppi, and gas pill. is this normal and will go away? i just hope that this feeling doesnt last forever.
  14. I didn't lose anything my second month out from surgery. I hit that dreaded 3 week stall. It lasted a few weeks, and then I began loosing again. Even after that though I only lost an average of 10 pounds a month. Keep your spirits up though, a loss is still a loss, and all of those little losses add up pretty quickly. It is also better for your skin to lose slowly, it gives your skin the chance to shrink up with you, instead of being wobbly. Losing slowly also helped me with hair loss. I only lost a little hair because my body wasn't put into such a shock mode. Good luck girl! You will get there soon enough!
  15. You can try a mild flavor of Gatorade. Hope you feel better soon!

    Pain

I would give a call to the surgeon. After two weeks you should not be having pain like this at all. Just be cautious, and call. Better safe then sorry! Hope everything is ok!
  17. Would love to have an update on if you talked with him,or made a decision. I also wanted to say one more thing. In a true relationship things should be equal, that includes decision making, bill paying, or if one works and the other stays at home then that person staying at home should contribute in other ways, such as taking care of the household. If there is a lack of balance in a relationship, then it truly will end up destroying itself, or having one party very unhappy. I have been married for 19 years as of tomorrow, and this is how our relationship works so well. We approach everything equally. Communication and collaboration.....we joke about us being tag team partners in life. I sure hope that if this relationship doesn't work out that you are able to find a man who treats you right, and contributes to your life, not one that mootches off of you! Good luck girl!

Tummy tuck before and after photos

Yes they sure do! Keep at it! You are almost there. I thought that I would never be able to get to my goal, and then I did! I also thought I would never be able to afford plastics, and then a miracle happened and my husband got a bonus from work that was exactly the amount of money I needed to get plastics, and he is so wonderful that he didn't even think twice about making my dreams come true! It's also a bonus for him, he just said he was giving me my 20 year tune up! Lol I realized yesterday that while I feel fantastic, I still need to take it easy or I get really worn out, and soar. I also made the mistake of not wearing my binder for way to long, and my tummy let me know it. So when anyone does finally get their tummy tucks, please make sure to follow the doctors instructions and wear that binder. The skin still isn't attached to your abdominal wall and so you need the binder in place to hold it there so that the inside can re attach. I will keep updating for everything, and I am so in countdown mode for my new boobies! I will of course post pictures of those ( I will be putting little stickers over the important parts of course! Sorry boys! Hehe). Life is so good! Keep working it prettyfatchic ( you're going to have to change that name pretty soon to prettyskinnychic!) I hope all your goals and dreams come true too!

Tummy tuck before and after photos

Ok, posting a picture of my actual scar. It looks gruesome but it doesn't hurt. I found out today that I need to take it easier though. I got really sore from over doing it.

Tummy tuck before and after photos

I do have one drain left, I just tucked it in my panties. I hope yours goes that great too! You must be totally excited and on count down mode! Two weeks left! I was hoping I would have less stretch marks then I do, but when I was pregnant with my son he decided to park his butt all the way up under my boobs, so I had stretch marks all the way up. I can't wait till I am all cleared to start toning up! My goal is to have some beautiful muscles under there that will make those stretch marks fade away, and nobody will notice them...hehe. I am thrilled at this point. This has been my dream for years, and my dream finally came true!

Tummy tuck before and after photos

I feel completely normal now. No pain meds or anything required. The portion of my belly from the new belly button down to my pubic hair is completely numb. It is freaky. The doctor says this is normal, and will eventually go away. I sure hope so! Going to add another picture to my gallery of my progress.

Tummy tuck before and after photos

My tummy tuck cost $7500. There are surgeons that do it cheaper, but I would be cautious of who you chose.
  24. My two year surgiversery came and went and I didn't even realize it! food no longer controls my life! I don't constantly think, dream or live for food! I have reached my goal, and I love it! I will be completing my journey next month by having two plastics surgeries. First I will be having a tummy tuck to remove my apron that started by having my beautiful children, and was made worse by becoming morbidly obese. The second will be a breast lift with implants to get the girls back. My only regret still remains that I did not get the sleeve sooner. This is a gift...the best one I could have ever done for myself and my family. I am healthier, happier....and stronger because of my sleeve! I will be posting more befores and afters once my surgeries are complete. Good luck to all that are planning, or contemplating this surgery. I have lost more then 140 pounds...and I will NEVER go back to that girl again....thanks to my sleeve!

    That time of the month?

Before surgery I ran on a 33 day cycle. But it could be a little sporadic at times, due to my extreme weight. Since surgery my period is like clock work. I can count out the days to when I am going to start. It makes my life a little easier being able to plan things in advance and to not have to worry about auntie flow showing up unannounced. Lol good luck!
