    Fecal Impaction... tmi... HELP!

This is very dangerous ****! Something that is life threatening. I have had patients die from impaction. Have you tried mad citrate? That is something that I have given patients that have been impacted. You must drink it with 8 ounces of water as well, which my take a while with the sleeve....but you have to get that much water in to help. Please make sure to take care of this...it is very dangerous!

    Loose skin

I am almost 37 and my belly didn't fair well after losing all the weight, but I had stretch marks from having babies. If you don't have any stretch marks then your skin should bounce back after time. I am having a tummy tuck in three weeks to finish out my journey....I will still have some stretch marks left over because I have them above my belly button, but no matter what my loose belly still looks better then my fat belly ever did. Lol Good luck!
  4. You are close to what my stats were. I am 5'9" and I weighed 315 before surgery. I am now 170 and love the size I am now. My boobs weren't quite as big as yours are...they were double d's but were not perky at all. My girls have gone down a little, but not to much, however I am having a lift with implants in October. I am also having a tummy tuck in September, but that is really from having kids. I never listened to the doc on how much he thought I could lose. I have lost 40 more pounds then he expected me to. I plan on trying to lose a little more after my surgeries, but if I don't I am not worried about it. Overall I am thrilled with my sleeve and the results that I have had. Good luck to you!
  5. I know I needed all of the encouragement and information I could find in the beginning and I am happy to be someone that can provide that now.
  6. For some reason I am unable to attach my before and afters...but there are some in my gallery, if anyone wants to see.

    Staple removal

I didn't have staples with this surgery, however I did for my tuba ligation and they were in my belly button...kind of tickled...didn't hurt at all. Good luck!

    Incision question

Yes this is normal. It is the internal stiches. You can trim them down with a pair of sterile nail clippers, or wait to see the doc and have him do it. I am so sorry you had to have staples and stiches on the outside! All I had was steri strips!

    9 weeks post-op PIC!

You look like you stepped into a time machine and erased years! Looking fantastic! Keep up the good work!
  10. I had my pre op appointment yesterday for my tummy tuck and breast lift/augmentation. My doc took before pictures! It was kind of horrible and wonderful at the same time. Tt is scheduled for 9/10 and breast lift is on 10/22! So excited to finally be nearing the end of my long journey! I will post before and afters for sure!

  11. Yes. I am two years out and enjoy food and feel hunger. Still have the restriction to help me avoid overeating, but I do enjoy my old favorites.

    To easy

Sometimes people just get lucky. I am happy that recovery is going so well for you.

    Just 60%? Really?

I lost more then what the doctors told me I was going to lose. It all depends on what you are willing to put in. I know that I am healthier, happier and weigh a lot less then I ever expected to before. Good luck!

    Airplane Question

I am 5'9" and I flew at 315... I didn't need one at that size.

Help i have stopped losing weight

It's a stall. You will be fine. Just be patient. I know easier said then done, but stressing over it won't help either.
  17. I exercised a lot in the beginning to get to goal. I did kickboxing, hiking, running, the wii fit, and weight training. I have never counted calories. I have counted carbs in the past, but now I just make sure to eat my Protein first and I don't worry about the rest. I am still active with hiking, and swimming but as far as maintaining I haven't had to do anything. My 2 year surgiversery is coming up on the 16th of this month and I have been my current weight since October. My original goal weight was 150 because that is right in between a healthy bmi for my height, however after getting to 170 I liked the way I looked. I am in a smaller size now at 170 then I was 18 years ago at 150. As for compliments....I took my 18 year old daughter to a comedy club last night and was called a milf by 3 of the comedians! Haha! My daughter was embarrassed but I was loving it!
  18. I have only received compliments on my transformation. I am by no means skinny...more like normal. I haven't had to work hard at maintaining my current weight. I have been the same weight plus or minus about 5 pounds depending on the time of the month. I did lose a little hair, which I cut, and styled differently so no one noticed. My skin looks and feels healthy, no graying. I do have a tummy tuck scheduled next month, and a breast lift with implants the month after that because my tummy looks like it was clawed by Freddie Kruger, and the girls look like they were popped. I just couldn't be more satisfied with this surgery. I can eat like a normal person where food isn't my constant thought. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
  19. I would call the doctor ASAP.

    "Hair" Today, Gone Tomorrow...

Losing the hair is bound to happen. Those of us who have thick hair won't even be able to tell other then lots more hair in the brush and in the shower...then after a few months lots of tiny re growth sticking up. Those with thin hair should think about shorter hair cuts for a while, along with going with highlights and lowlights to add depth. There are also a lot of great hair extensions out there that are easy to clip into your hair. If you get real hair then you can die it the same color as your real hair on your head. I would rather invest in something tangible then spending money on all of those vitamins and special hair treatments that really don't work. Good luck everyone!

    Alcohol post op

I was told a year as well. I didn't listen though. I had my first drink when I was 4 weeks post op. it was a shot of tequila because I was over at my sisters house and she poured me one...which I would have normally taken, and she didn't know about my surgery, and I didn't want her to be suspicious. It went down ok....actually didn't hurt or anything, but I got tipsy just off of that one shot, vs having to have 3-4 shots pre op. be careful how much you drink now, because cross over addiction is very easy. They say we end up getting addicted to other things because we can't stuff our emotions down with food anymore. I could see how it could become a problem real fast. There was a while there when I was drinking way to much. Thankfully I stopped because I could see myself headed down a path I didn't want to go. Good luck to you!

fish and chips post op anyone?

It will be more like a piece of fish and a couple chips...lol I have had it since surgery, but I never really have room for the fries after. Even when I do eat some fries, they make me really full really fast. I can eat anything now that I want, but still can only fit about 1/4-1/2 a cup of food. I try to order half orders, but if I can't I just save the left over fish, and throw away the fries. You will be able to enjoy everything again soon enough. I recommend sticking to your surgeons diet as long as possible to get the most out of your sleeve. Good luck!
  23. The stomach is not the only place that creates this hormone. I am two years out and I feel hunger. I have since about three months post op. it still doesn't take much to fill me up. About 1/2 cup of food and I am all done for hours.

    Telling family

I only told my husband and my oldest daughter. It's a personal decision really. If you feel you can't do it without them, then I would tell, but if you don't want everyone to know then you should tell only those you trust to keep it to themselves. Good luck!
  25. It's not up to the doctors to say how much you can lose. They are giving you a number based on statistics. Everyone is individually going to have different results. People that put more into this are going to get more out of it usually. I know my doctor only expected me to get down to about 190's and I am happily settled in the 170's. Vsg was the best decision I have ever made for my health! good luck!
