    What made you do it?

the last pair of jeans i had bought were a size 26....i used to fit into a size 6. i swore that i would never end up looking like i do. when i bought those jeans i realized i was already bigger then where i swore i would never get. even though i am still recovering i dont regret it a bit. thank god for making the doctor who came up with this surgery!

    protein is hard to swallow

thanks ladies, at least i know im not alone. i have been able to eat Soups without to much trouble so hopefully adding more Protein there will help. i have tried Isopure, muscle milk, and some other ones that i havent liked. i do like the slim fast shakes, i just am getting tired of it. i want a little more variety. i tried eating chili today. i could manage a few bites without the hurt. i will keep trecking along. mememeee-i know it will get better. soon you will be happy with it. i am still really happy that i got it. i feel like i finally have control over my food addiction. i dont constantly think of food anymore. that is great for me.
  9. well i have flown several times in the past few years and havent had to buy another ticket, however i dont require an extender. i have seen other people get them and not have an issue. are they flying you business class, because those seats are a little more roomy. i would ask your boss if they are flying you business class....also some of the airlines offer a last minute upgrade for anywhere between 50-100 dollars. you might want to go to the ticket counter and try to up it. i hope it all works out for the best.

    Can You Hear Me!!!!!

way to go! cant wait to be there myself!
  15. im 3 weeks out and i had that same problem for a while. i dont as much anymore, but do find that it creeps up occationally. i have to make sure not to drink to many fluids also or it comes right back up. i was a gulper of water before the surgery, and find that is the only way i feel satisfied thirst wise. it sucks to have to take such little sips. but everyday gets easier to get used to it.

    is Vertical Sleeve FDA approved?

um, i am pretty sure that the surgery has to be approved by the fda in order to be done here. i had no problem getting it covered by blue cross blue shield of california. some insurance companys consider it to be experimental still because it is still new, but that is so they dont have to pay for it. insurance company's get away with that all the time. good luck

    Fluid intake

that is great. keep up the good work!

    Fluid intake

yes i got mine from the pharmacy, but you can use one from a nyquil bottle, or liquid medicine cup. a 2 tbs one is the best. just sip on that. another good one for the person on the go that doesnt have time to carry that around with them is taking a 2 liter bottle and fill it up almost to the top (get a couple to work with) then freeze it the night before. carry that around with you, as it melts drink it. once it is gone get out the other one and do the same. 2 of those is all you need for the day. i like this way because you can drink to fast because it takes a while for the ice to melt, and it is cold water. i love cold water 10 times more then warm. good luck ladies, and just keep sipping...

    Fluid intake

for the fluid; get a medicine cup, and a gallon jug of water. have them with you everywhere you go. fill up the medicine cup with water. sip on that for 10 minutes. if you fill it up and sip on one every 10 minutes for a normal 12 hour day you will have drank a gallon of water in the day. as for exercise, there are plenty of things you can do from a chair. if you have a exercise band you can sit in the chair and put one end under your foot and hold the other end with one arm at a time, raising and lowering it for about 10-15 reps each time-do it to music or while you watch tv. you can also do leg lifts in the chair or laying down in the bed. i do sit ups in bed so that my back doesnt hurt. you can make up tons of exercises of your own. sometimes it is fun as for food, you shouldnt be eating more then a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food per meal. try to avoid grazing as well, as this adds in a lot of uncounted calories. dont forget there are plenty of stalls in weight loss as well. you can raise and lower your calories to kick start weight loss up again. sometimes that is all it takes. dont be discouraged, as long as the scale continues to move down and not up...rejoice in the fact that it is going down and dont worry so much about the number amount. youll get there.... good luck to you. keep smiling
  20. i never have to deal with the docs office. all of the work is done by my coordinator. she even makes my appointments. i would try the other office though so that you can weigh all your options, also it helps that the b office is closer. i think it is great to be involved with the insurance that way you wont have any surprizes at the end. i didnt have to do that either thanks to the coordinator. she got all of my stuff together and filed everything. i ended up not having to pay a dime for my surgery. i was in shock! hope you find what you are looking for in the other office. good luck!
  21. i agree to all of the above! just make sure you get up and walk every 30-45 minutes. i would request an isle seat so that you dont piss off someone your sitting next to. have a great time! what island are you going to. i went to the big island and stayed on kona the past 2 years in a row. loved every minute of it. if you are going there i totally recommend the islander for a hotel. i was able to get a room there for less then $50 dollars a night and the grounds are beautiful. it is right across the street from the water too, as well as being right smack in the middle of everywhere that you want to be there. im 2 weeks post op now and i totally would be up to going back right now. just wish i had the money. have fun!

    Boob question

i told my hubby that after i lose all my weight im getting a tummy tuck and a boob lift, as well as implants if i needed them. he was fine with the tummy tuck because he knows how much i hate my tummy. i have lost all of my weight after my first daughter, and my wrinkly tummy never went away. however he told me that he didnt want me to do anything with my boobs.....he is crazy! what man wouldnt want their woman to get better boobs? i know he likes them, i think that he doesnt want anyone else to like them either though...lol could this be the first sign of jealousy out of him in forever? im actually happy about it because i think he feels a little to compfy in our relationship and doesnt think he needs to do the extra stuff he used to like buy me flowers, or romantic planning like he used to when he thought i was desirable to other men. we have been married for 17 years and although i am very happy in our marrage, it would be nice if he did little things like he used to. every woman needs to feel special!
