    I stop loosing pounds

Just measure yourself...and look to your clothes for the answer. If they are looser and your measurements are smaller, then you are losing. When you are exchanging fat for muscle the scale may not move, but you are getting smaller anyways. Before I got heavy I weighed 150, didn't work out so I had a lot of fat....and I was a size 10. Now I am 170 and I am a size 10.... Why? Because I have more muscle then I did back then. It takes up less space so you can be smaller and weigh more. The scale sucks! Hehe
  2. They have noticed, but some people are uncomfortable making personal comments like this. Don't be offended. Just wait till you run into someone you haven't seen in a while and they don't even know who you are. I have had that happen over and over again. I take it as a huge compliment, because obviously I look much different...in a very good way!

    Stupid head

Just make sure you have only nutritious snacks around. That way if you do graze it will be on things that won't make you feel guilty.

    Liquid Colace?

If you can't find the liquid version you can cut the pills open...they are usually liquid inside. You shouldn't have a problem actually swallowing the pills but if you are worried that is what I would do.

    I stop loosing pounds

Again and again I must say....throw that @&$£*^€ scale away! Hehe. You shouldn't be weighing all the time in the beginning. It drives you crazy.
  6. Almost two years post op here....and I have not been the best on eating or exercise. I do some exercise when I feel up to it...and for the most part I eat way healthier then I used to. As fas as restriction...I still have very little room and fill up really quickly. I have lost more weight then I could have imagined. I am not the weight that I originally wanted to get down to, but I am in a size 10 now, and after I have my tummy tuck ( coming in September) I am sure that I will be in single digits. I feel wonderful, and everyone tells me I look really healthy. I really couldn't be happier with my results! Good luck to everyone out there!

    How to get pills down?

I work in a forensic hospital and for the guys that cheek their meds we crush them and mix it with cinnamon apple sauce. You can try it. I never had to crush my meds after surgery, but if it is hard for you to get them down you can try it....won't hurt! Good luck!

    Finally, Onederland!

Doesn't it feel great! God for you!
  10. You look great! You are rocking that bathing suit!
  11. Same as a lot of people...wish I had done it sooner. I had a friend who was going to get the surgery at the same time as me....she decided to try to lose it on her own with one last serious diet...that was almost two years ago now. I of course had it and now weigh 170, she managed to lose 50 pounds on her own, but then gained it all back and is now well over 350 pounds. When I see her I just feel so sad for her. She doesn't like to hang out with me anymore. I think it's because when she sees me she thinks of what could have been for her. There are plenty of people out there that regret this surgery...but there are even more out there that regret not having the surgery when they could have. Good luck on your journey, whatever you decide...it is only a choice that you can make for yourself.

    Sleeved 3.11.13

Wow! More then 100 pounds lost! Good job! Keep it up!

    Burning Chest and Vomiting.

I would call my surgeon if I were you. Never had that feeling. Better safe then sorry. I hope you feel better fast!
  14. I stayed two...only because I lived so far away from the hospital....200 miles. The doc wanted me to stay in case of complications. I would ask the doc to give you a leak test before you leave the hospital. It is awful....tastes horrid, but it made me feel more at ease to know there were no leaks before I left. I felt fine after four days of recovery. Good luck!

    Extra large stomach organ

Well the sleeve took care of that now didn't it? Hehe....good luck on your journey!

    Feel like crying :-(

It will happen for you when it is meant to be. This is hard to hear, but I truly believe there is a reason for everything. Keep your head up, because when it is supposed to happen things will line up. I will pray for you and your whole family. I am truly sorry that everything is so overwhelming right now. Try to see the silver lining...stay positive!

    I despise judgemental jerks!

That is exactly why I chose not to tell anyone. I really don't want to deal with the back stabbing and constant ridicule about taking "the easy way out" ...nothing about this is easy! Some people just don't get it!

    Getting soooo scared of failure

There were many months at a time that I would stall completely...not losing a pound, or worse gaining a few. When this happens the best thing to do is shake things up. Add in more exercise, or change the way you are eating. Giving up is not an option! You will get there as long as you don't quit. Good luck! Keep your chin up...and don't stress about what others think about you. The only person who can determine your self worth is well....your self!

    officially 10mths out yesterday! !

Absolutely stunning! You are a very beautiful woman. I bet you are constantly having to turn down men hitting on you...hehe Great job!
  20. Yup...throw that scale far far away! You just got sleeved....shouldn't be weighing in already anyways. As for the Tom gain, happens to me as well. You know that it does, so this shouldn't bother you at all! During my losing phase I would look forward to my Tom, because although I would gain about 4-6 pounds right before it....as soon as it was over I would start dropping pounds like crazy for the next week and a half. My biggest loss after my Tom was 12 pounds in one week!! And that is not including the water weight btw. Stop fretting...lol good luck

    Carbs

I don't know about everyone else but as for me personally, I did not have this surgery so that I could spend the rest of my life on a diet. I will eat all the protein on my plate first...but then if there is still room...or desire I will have some carbs. I eat fruit, and sometimes even a potato or even rice and pasta. I eat all of those in moderation, and when I really feel I need it. I avoid the sweets for the most part...but if I am at a party and there is cake...well I'm gonna have some cake...mind you it is about 5% of a slice that I used to eat, but I sure as heck savor it and enjoy! I feel that if you say to yourself 'I can't have that anymore.' Then you sit there wanting it even more....and in the process you will sabotage yourself. I am almost two years out. I have been at goal for a while, and maintaining really well. The most important part is that while I enjoy food, I don't obsess over it anymore. Go and enjoy a few carbs every once in a while! Good luck!

    I wish I hadn't seen this forum....

Yes there are risks with all surgeries. There are going to be a ton of people that have something occur....however there are also a ton more people that don't have any. I guess you got to ask yourself.... Are the benefits of the surgery able to outweigh the risks? I had my surgery...complication free, and was out of the house and playing at the park with my kids after four days. I still had regrets in the months to come while I had to adjust to my new way of life....a strong case of buyers remorse. However I am now closing in on two years later and I can say without a doubt this surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my self and my family! I would do it all over again..and again and again if I had to! I am the happiest I have ever been in my adult life. Good luck! I hope you have a safe trip...and a fast recovery!

    Alcohol

Vodka, whiskey, tequila....all of these have no carbs. Have them with some low sugar juice...or some flat diet soda. I would stay away from drinking them straight because it can be hard on your sleeve, as well as they will hit you a lot harder now then before surgery. I know the doctors usually say to stay away from them as they can slow down the weight loss, but if you do it occasionally it shouldn't hurt. Just be careful of the possible cross over addiction. It is easy for wls patients to become addicted to other substances after surgery. I know that I drink about once a week...and it hasn't stopped me from reaching my goal. Good luck! And have fun!
  24. It's really up to how you feel. There is no reason you can't have it unless you do some really strange...or difficult positions. Once you are feeling up to the task....then burn those calories the best and most fun way to do so! Greatest exercise ever! Lol

    5 mo questions

It is normal....and it is also about the time that your weight loss starts slowing down. Remember it didn't come on overnight, it won't go away that way either. It took me a year and 8 months to get to goal. Just stay positive...and start measuring yourself instead of weighing! good luck!
