    Huge Stall!

First of all, relax. Your body is going to lose weight. It has to. Second of all, how much are you eating and drinking? Not enough calories or not enough Water will slow down your weightloss. I don't know what your intake is but do not starve yourself. You may need more to keep your body from going into starvation mode. As for exercise, it's always a good idea. I don't know why someone would have this surgery without adding regular exercise to your daily routine. It should be a part of your new healthier lifestyle. Starving yourself should not be part of it. Also, have you taken any measurements? Often you can see areas shrinking with the tape measure even though the scale isn't moving. Work the program and it will work for you.

First It Was Sex Now Its Food...

I don't know how far post op you are, but have you tried some Soup? Might help settle your stomach. Sounds like dairy products aren't agreeing with you. And it's 1:42 AM here....I'm working nightshift.

    Survival On Pre-Op Diet

It helped me to have a bowl of soup or a protein shake every 2-3 hours. That way I didn't get hungry but my total calories for the day was not that high. If you go too long without eating and let yourself get really hungry, your mind will not allow something that light and small to satisfy you, and you end up eating something you shouldn't.

You know what they say, guys don't suffer from premature ejaculation, women do.

First It Was Sex Now Its Food...

The thing is....the worst sex I ever had was still way better than the worst food I ever had.
  6. We need to hand out a NSV of the year award. This takes it.
  7. Uh...I would be careful with those "back" burps in the first week. Remember, you can't trust a fart.

    Back Pain Remedies?

BTW...if you're too shy to get a regular massage you can always go for a long chair massage. Also with trigger point you stay fully dressed as well.

    Back Pain Remedies?

Trigger point treatment usually involves applying pressure to neuromuscular junction to release tense or strained muscles thereby relieving pain. The great thing about trigger point therapists is they understand referred pain better than most doctors and certainly better than the average patient. Referred pain is usually associated with repetitive use injuries. Referred pain simply means that the point of the pain isn't always the source of the problem nor would addressing that area be the solution. That's why people who self treat for muscle pain with massage and ice packs or heating pads, when the pain is not associated with trauma, sometimes don't get any relief. They are treating the wrong place. The back and neck are 2 of the biggest culprits of referred pain. For instance neck strains often present as headaches and strain to the glutes usually shows up as low back pain. These are 2 very common examples. Trigger point therapists (and quality massage therapists) are very good at getting to the source of the referred pain.

    Back Pain Remedies?

If you can locate a trigger point therapist in your area, they work wonders. Even better than massage, and that's quite an admission coming from me because I am a massage therapist. If anyone lives in the Houston area PM me and I will give you the number of an excellent trigger point therapist. And BTW, ice is to reduce swelling after injury. If your pain is from something other than trauma heat can definitely help by increasing circulation in the area.

    No One Said...

I got the worse case of hiccups the first time I got up to walk after surgery. My usual remedies are a big glass of Water or a spoonful of sugar, but I couldn't do either obviously. I really wanted to die. But a nurse looked me square in the eyes and said "hiccup for me". I thought she was crazy, but I couldn't hiccup on demand like that. Then I realized I wasn't hiccuping anymore. I wanted to marry her right then. But my wife wouldn't let me.

    The Egg

I've been having egg beaters for breakfast every morning. 1/2 cup of beaters with some 2% cheese, chopped up bell pepper and sometimes a little chicken or beef fajita meat. Keeps me full until lunch and sits well.
  13. I think it's gonna be different for everybody. I'm about 10 weeks post op and I'm still only drinking 8 oz at a time, but I can drink it in 3 or 4 minutes. A couple of times I drank it faster than that and I was a bit uncomfortable. But basically, as long as you're not feeling any pain or discomfort you're in no danger of stretching your sleeve. If you drink too much too fast you'll know it. But even if you do, I doubt you could stretch your sleeve like that. It takes many years of overfilling and overeating to stretch a regular stomach. Your sleeve will be even harder to stretch.

    Goodbye 75 Pounds :)

I've had a couple of salads with no problem. Filled me up real fast. I've also been eating lettuce wraps regularly. I put fajita meat, 2% cheese and salsa in them. Basically I use the lettuce in place of a tortilla. Taste great.

    Motorcycles - Who Rides?

I ride and I am a serious garage monkey. I tinker with everything till I break it. Then fix it and sell it on Craigslist before I can break it again. Here's my last couple of victims...a 2001 Vstar and a 2000 Drifter. Both were stock till I got ahold of them.

That works for the ticker, but not the sig pic. At least, as far as I can tell.
  22. Or you could just wear all the dirty clothes to the laundry mat, wash them, then wear them home.
  23. There is no limit to the weight you can lose with the sleeve. Losing more weight now will not really help you reach your goal. The Dr is only giving you a goal weight based on the percentage of excess weight that all people lose....including the ones that fail and don't lose anything. You can lose 100% of our excess weight after you have your sleeve if you try. He is setting you up for success. He's giving you the opportunity to EXCEED expectations by beating the so called average weight loss. If he set your goal at 100% excess weight loss and you only lose 90% you might come away disappointed.

To Tell Or Not To Tell....

I've told this story before, but basically my biggest hang up about having WLS was people finding out about it. For years this kept me from even seriously considering having surgery. I guess it just seemed like cheating....I don't really know. Then one day out of the blue a coworker told me he had WLS years ago. Apparently everyone knew but me. He wasn't trying to talk me into anything, he just wanted to tell me how he struggled with his weight for so long, but the surgery had helped him turn things around. He was very frank and matter of fact about the whole thing. Amazingly, he hadn't been ostracized by the world, or my coworkers, who can be quite narrow minded. Needless to say, I was inspired. I researched VSG and had my first Dr.s appointment within a month. Well I have told everyone who has asked me about my weightloss that I had the surgery, and I haven't heard one negative thing. I'm sure some people have some things they'd like to say but they don't. My real friends have been nohing but supportive. I've educated more than a couple of people about the surgery that were interested. Not because they need it, but just because they didnt know much about it. The general public's knowledge of WLS apparently stopped growing in 1975. They still believe in the 5% mortality rate statistic, and wiring people's jaws shut. Anyway, I find it very liberating to be up front about the whole thing. And I sincerely hope that someday the right person sees me being open about the whole thing and is inspired to change his life like I was. To those of you who would rather keep it quiet, by all means do.
