I have finally got my insurance approval to get the sleeve on November 28th I need to lose the last 5 pounds this week, i start the bowel prep and 2 day liquid diet this upcoming weekend. Is anyone else getting their surgery on the 28th? Has anyone gotten it done at UCLA?

Day 4 and i feel GREAT !! not in pain, was able to sleep on my right side last night in my very comfy bed with my husband and dog (of course, pitbull so not a small one) with no pain meds and woke up this morning feeling amazing.... I wont lie and say that on Monday morning when i woke up from surgery and to the next day i didnt have buyers remorse. I was in pain and couldnt sleep well. I read about it on this website from people and didnt think it was possible. It is possible but after a couple of days and you get home, you realize this is a gift. Am i hungry? not really, does all the food commericals on TV make me day dream? of course, but i know in a matter of a few months i WILL be able to eat what i once did but even if its only a bite, it will be worth it. I would love to hear from Lauraann and everyone else who has done it this month. Thanks to all of you that prayed and sent good vibes my way.

Well i made it thru surgery!! Very painful hard to breath in deep cause of the drain, getting it removed tomorrow. Other then that walking is really easy and not painful

Im 2 1/2 weeks pre-op, my surgery date is November 7th. Im having it done at UCLA and I was wondering what to expect before and after surgery. I want to be prepared as much as possible..... Any advise would be great too....

Im having surgery with him on November 7th. Im happy to be getting it done at such a good hospital. How was your stay? I have to lose 8 more pounds by the 7th and im on the 1200 calorie diet and its not shedding as fast as i thought it would be since im starving ! He told me that if i didnt lose it they would cancel my surgery that morning. Did anyone else have to lose some weight with him and got cancelled?

I get surgery in 2 weeks but my husband will be out of town a couple of days after i get home, how long til i can drive?

I am 2 weeks til my surgery and have been placed on a 1200 calorie diet to lose my remaining 10 pounds before surgery. I also have to do the clear liquids only 2 days prior. I guess everyones surgeon is different which I find weird. I'm just having a hard time getting the protein shakes down. Good luck on your surgery !!

Thats some great info !! Im on a 1200 calorie diet til surgery to lose my remaining 10 lbs before the 7th. Do they take the drain out before you leave the hospital? Also im having an issue with finding a good tasting protein shake, any advise or suggestions?
