1 More Week!
What about some salads; tuna, chicken, ham or egg salad? Is that soft enough? You can also try potted meats, deviled meats and Vienna sausages { they come in original, chicken, barbecue and hot}. They are all very soft. Just a thought :0)

Dr. Oz On Hair Loss
It is a supplement made from black current berries. Look for it in the vitamin and supplement aisle :0) Oh, by the way, they said that the berries are delicious to eat if you can find them in your store's produce section.

Dr. Oz On Hair Loss
I just saw on the Dr. Oz show that the supplement Black Current was great for hair loss. He said that it not only helps to regrow hair lost, but that it also helps to prevent hair loss to begin with. He said it takes 6-8 weeks to begin to work. I thought that some of y'all might appreciate this knowledge. I am three weeks from my surgery and I plan to buy me some tomorrow. I want to start getting it in my system. Best wishes everyone :0)

Dill Pickles For A Snack Wth?
I love love love me some dill pickles! This was always one of my mom and my go to foods when we were low carbin'. I love to drink the juice too. Umm! This actually has more of a benefit than you may know though. A bitter or sour food eaten with a meal greatly decreases it's glycemic effect on the body. So suck those sour little babies up. They are helping you get closed to you goal one pucker at a time :0)

Scheduled....but Lingering Question Is 'am I Messing With God's Work'.
We are also very religious people. I have had a big run around over my surgery and my husband says to me the other night, " Did you ever give it any consideration that maybe it is not God's will for you to have this surgery?" I looked him square in the face and said, "No and frankly I don't really even care." He was completely stunned, but I went on to explain. " If I was dying with my heart you wouldn't question me having surgery to correct that. Or if I was having back surgery for pain you wouldn't question that. So why does it have to be "God's will" because it is this surgery. Am I dying any less or am I in any less pain? I had rather die having this surgery trying to do better for myself than to have to live the rest of what life I may have in miserable pain, eating Rx drugs like they were the very staff of life itself." Let's be completely honest, if we wanted to leave everything completely up to God, we would never take medicine or go to the dr or anything. He did give use a good mind and I believe he expects us to use it. If it is something to help the body, I believe it is in his permissible will. The only thing we must be careful of here is pride. We don't need to get so carried away with our new bodies that we lose sight of what is truly important and slip into a little idol worship :0)

Someone Explain This To Me..
Thanks for the post, I was just getting ready to ask about that. I have had abdominal surgeries before and never had a drain tube. I was wondering why with this one. I sure hope if my doc does it, he takes them out before you go home. I just don't want something else to have to deal with.

Finish Everything On Your Plate!
My husband is 32 years old, 5'11" and 280. I'm 5'9 and outweigh him 40 pounds, but he eats two to three times what I do at many meals. It amazes me. I tell him sometimes, " you really need to stop." At first he didn't want me to have the surgery, but he is on board now. He actually said to me the other day," you know I might would consider that surgery too if you like yours." I was just stunned. I asked him what had changed his mind. He said, " I am dying. I have realized I am killing myself one bite at a time." :0(

Sipping And Not Drinking With Meals
I am really going to miss gulping..hehe. I can kill a whole bottled water or Gatorade without taking a breath. My husband thinks it is hilarious. I usually do it at night when I take my ship load of meds though. When you have to swallow 15-20 pills, it seems like it takes that much to wash it all down good. On the other hand, drinking while eating is not going to be a big problem for me. For some reason, mixing liquid with my food makes me throw up. I drink nothing or very little when I am eating. I usually just have something for those times when I get a little strangled swallowing; you know, to wash it on down.

Tired Of Drinking Broth? Here Is What I Did...
So, do you have to stay away from tomato products after surgery? (the acid) I find that V8 vegetable juice is very tasty warm. I use it as the base for my vegetable beef soup too. It is wonderful!

Finish Everything On Your Plate!
I haven't had my procedure yet, but I definitely have this problem. I just can't stand to leave food on the plate. It's not really that big of a problem for me at home, but if we go out Look Out. If it is a large amount, I ask for a box. If it is just 3 or 4 bites, I usually go ahead and eat it and make myself sick. I guess after my surgery, I will ask for the box up front and put everything in it but a few bites; that way maybe it won't be so hard on me. I already throw-up very easily now, so I know I will have to take it slow and easy then. My poor Hubby, he thought since I can't have any more babies he wouldn't have to put up with me throwing up restaurant meals anymore. When I told him than one bite too much and it came back up he was like," oh no, not again!" (I threw up the entire pregnancy all four times I was expecting)
