  1. You have the most beautiful face and sweetest smile. I am so proud for you to be on the road to a healthier life, but let me tell you something. If you are doing this to make you beautiful, you don't have to. You have a light that shines from within that makes you absolutely luminous!

    Hair Loss After Vsg

This is the only thing I have truly worried about concerning my WLS. That may sound childish to some, but it is an EXTREMELY big deal to me. Because of religious convictions, I do not cut nor trim my hair and have not done so in over 25 years. Currently it is just a few inches from the bends of my knees. I have experienced hair loss with every anesthesia I have ever had (7); but even though I felt like I would go bald, others did not notice. I am praying it won't be anymore extreme than this for me. It is not like I would have many options to try to hide it. Cutting it would be completely out and getting the rest under a wig would make me look like a knot head. I suppose if it goes; thin will have to be IN, for body and hair.
  3. I have been pondering the fat friend thing in my mind for several weeks now. I am truly afraid that I have a couple of friends that will kind of drop off of the radar after my weight loss. We are all currently very large; but when I no longer am, I believe they will feel insecure around me because it will make it even more noticeable how much weight that we have gained over the years. I know they love me, but insecurity and perceived threats can do strange things to people.
  4. Ok ladies and gents. I need you to send some requests up for me. My insurance coordinator is sending my new medical info to the insurance today. I need an approval letter. I have already missed one surgery date.

  5. I had the most awesome day today; delivering all of that family's stuff, spending the afternoon with my son's multi-needs handicap class and playing with a guinea pig (I'm a big kid). After my shots yesterday and my steroid pills today, I have just been ecstatic. Haven't had even the slightest twinge of pain. That is a utter miracle for me!

    Omg My Boobs Have Disappeared!

I currently wear a 44 G. Thirteen years ago when I got married, I wore a 38 DD. I was in a DD from about 160 lbs. I hope that I don't get any smaller up there than that, but I just don't know. It seems like since I have stopped having kids and nursing ( I was pregnant or nursing for most of 8 years) that I have already lost a lot of mass. They are just not full like they used to be. I guess I'll go from a 44G to a 36long :0/
  7. When we live the way we feel is right and things don't go our way; we get mad and feel sorry for ourselves. Well, I had been planning a really huge secret event ( my sleeve) for Dec. 6, 2011, for six months and at the last minute it fell through. I just couldn't understand why with all the time, effort and money that I had put into this; I just couldn't get it together. I found out today. I got the call this afternoon about an underprivileged family whose house burned in the night and they were in desperate need. The mom was 4x, daughter 18 or XL and dad and son 38x32 XL. We have family members in every size! I went straight to the phone and made some arrangements; then I hit MY stash ( I am an extreme couponer). Now this family will be warm, clothed, clean and fed; in part because I was where God wanted me and not where I wanted to be. Sometimes God gives us talents not only to bless us, but so we can bless others. And sometimes He let's us have disappointment, not to hurt us; but to put us in the path to help others hurting worse. I am learning patience the good old fashioned way..through tribulation; but with each of my own tribulations, I have also been honored to bless another person that was hurting in some special way. The Bible promises that if you so much as give a person a drink of water, even in the name of a disciple, that you will not lose your reward. I bless every little box and bag of goodies in Jesus' name before they leave my house. I have no ulterior motive. I absolutely love, love, love to give to others; but I figure hey, it can't hurt to pad my blessings piggy bank for a rainy day..hehe. Not just Jesus' name water, but Jesus name toothpaste and Jesus' name soap and Jesus' name washing powders..lol :0D I'm hoping for Mr. Piggy to overflow a little paper blessing in the form of an approval letter really soon. In Jesus name, amen!
  8. Had a Dr.s appointment and was expecting a weight gain after all the holiday eating, but the scale showed me down 3 lbs from my last visit. Happy!

    Channel Ring Sizing Question...

You know the oddest thing; I wear the same size ring at 316 (335) that I wore when I weighed 160. All my rings are 7s. I wear a 6 1/5 but the in store size is always a 7, so that is what I bought because I don't like to wait. It always amazed me how much larger than other girls I could be, but my fingers were much longer and more slender than theirs. I guess I missed my calling.. To be a hand model..hehe :0D

Canceled 3 Hrs Before Gastric Sleeve Surgery!

Aww girl, I'm so sorry; but I do know a bit how you feel. I was supposed to have my surgery on the 6 th, but the insurance company is jerking me around. Best of luck to you. Maybe your date will be soon; I am not rescheduled until Feb. 14. (still pending approval :0P).
  12. I have been wondering about this. I had my tubes tied 4 years ago (the day after my last child was born). When a person loses weight everything loosens up; your clothes, your shoes, your jewelry. Does knots tied in ones internal organs? It would stand to reason that they would shrink along with everything else. I know for a fact, some doctors will not do a tubal immediately after birth because they say after the swelling from the pregnancy goes down, the knot will be too loose. Long story short, has anyone here gotten pregnant with their tubes tied after having the sleeve?
  13. I sure hope we see relief. That is the major reason I am looking to have this done. I started a 335 and a BMI of 49.6. I have degenerative disk and joint, arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraines, TMJ, damaged rotator cuff, torn meniscus cartilage, carpel tunnel syndrome, tendinitis, bursitis, neuropathy,Reynauds disease, dumping syndrome, colitis, heavy periods, heart arrthymea, high blood pressure and stress incontinence. I am 34 and have been suffering as long as 13 years with some disorders. I'm just taking a wild chop at this, but I would say if losing a 100 pounds doesn't help me, then nothing will. But even with all these problems, my insurance still has not approved my procedure. It was submitted Oct. 26 and is still "pending". They want more paperwork on my "condition". Blah blah! They just don't want to pay up.
  14. My Hubby bought me a Gold's Gym elliptical trainer at the flea market Saturday for $50! Now if I can just get over this fibro

    Lost 201 Pounds

All I can say is OMGoodness. You rock! Congratulations :0)
  17. I got a letter from my insurance company requesting "additional information" on my condition to determine "if your plan covers the requested services." this is a bunch of baloney! They know my plan covers it and that I qualify. They just don't want to pay up.

  18. So, this morning my oldest son (autistic) pick up my bra, puts it over his eyes and says, " Mom, this is kinda like 3D glasses." I just laughed and said, "it three D alright (DDD)." Lol, never know what we will say :0)

  19. I am addicted to you people! I just can't stay away. I want my sleeve * turning green* :0P

    Acid Reflux = Chronic Coughing?

Back in 96'-98' I was sick a lot. I spent an entire year with bronchitis. It was constant fevers, coughing, antibiotics and steroids. I ended up in the hospital with a diagnosis of COPD. I ended up losing 75lbs. In 98', I started having chest pains. After a trip to the ER, I was diagnosed with GERD. In July of 98', I had an emergency gallbladder removal. That had been the problem the whole time. The gallbladder was acting up causing the reflux. The acid was then refluxing into the bronchial tubes and lungs causing bronchitis and pneumonia. After the gallbladder was remover all problems resolved. A couple of years ago, I started having chest pains and coughing again. I am back on the acid meds and it has resolved once again. I am a testimonial to the power of the effects of too much acid!! Acid reducers work wonders. I take a strong one called Dexilant.

    Bald and depressed...

This is one thing I have truly worried about. I do not cut my hair because of religious convictions. It has been 25 years since the last time it was cut and currently it reaches almost to the bends of my knees. Although I have not had my surgery yet, I might be able to help you out though. Because of injuries to my arms and shoulders, I got to the point that I was no longer able to hold my arms up long enough to put my hair up in the fancy hair styles and curls that I used to. A friend turned me on to Paula Young. I buy clip-ons (of course they sell wigs [Human and synthetic]) from them and people have a fit over my hair all the time. It is not uncommon at all for me to have a perfect stranger stop me just so they can look at my hair. It matches so well, they never even figure out part of it is not even mine. You might want to check them out. They are very reasonable and you can shop online or by catalogue. Good luck, I hope it gets better for you soon.
  23. That is so wonderful! I wear a ladies 3x. I just don't know what I will do if I am able to fit in a large by next winter. Not even sure that I would want to hide myself under a coat with that kind of an accomplishment! It doesn't get that cold in Mississippi..lol :0)

    Gotta Love This.....

I was laughing about this just last night. My husband and I went to the big "line out" bash for the new Mississippi Toyota plant. It was a very nice event and he introduced me to so many people that I couldn't even keep up. After we got off to ourselves I started giggling and told him, "at Christmas time next year they will think you are divorced." Stunned he said, "why!" Still laughing I told him,"because no one will recognize that new skinny woman on your arm." :0) I am going to love every minute of it!
  25. Girl, I feel the same way. It is all I can think about. I was scheduled for 12/6 but the insurance still has not got my approval through, so I lost my date. It has been moved to 2/14/12. That just gives me that many more weeks to obsess and to drive my family nuts. But this is a really big deal to me. I feel like it is my new lease on life and that I am being given a second chance to do things I never had the opportunity to do before because of my health and weight. I am VERY excited to say the least.
