    Nsv For Me!

Aww, that is great. Congrats! My doc has big billboards on the highway. I told my hubby that I wanted to be on one of those

    Omg

I can't wait for my husband to be able to pick me up. That is what I want my GOAL pic to be; my hubby holding me in his arms like a rescued princess
  3. They pumped 10-12 pounds of IV fluid in me while I was in the hospital. It took me more than a week to just get back to the weight that I was when I went in. I also had the three week stall and IVs 6 more times, so my early weight loss was a constant roller coaster ride! You'll be fine, don't stress it. Don't want to lose those fluids too fast or you'll end up like me; with a needle in your arm every other day

    Changing Life...different Game

    Wonderful job. Congrats!!
  6. What kind of yellow? Like neon Mellow Yellow colored? If so, my doc said that that is bile pouring through the digestive system. Just like what you throw-up when you have the stomach virus. It's kind of freakie...
  7. I do have cramps, sick feeling, flushing, blah, blah, blah. Mine is not related to a specific food. It is just caused by the intake of any food or drink..even Water. Maybe you just have a little intestinal imbalance. Try some acidophilus. Its a pro-biotic. It is very good for your digestive system. If you have a bit of a bad over growth or if your good flora is low, this will help balance it out. It is in regular yogurt, not sure about greek. You can get it in many different forms.
  8. I have had this for 13 years. Mine started after I had my gallbladder out. It is usually refered to as dumping syndrome, or that is what all of my doctors call it. My bariatric surgeon had really hoped that mine would resolve after my surgery, but it has not. It has gotten a bit better though. I use to have to go as many as 10 times a day. Now it is not hardly that many. You have the same symptoms. My doc gives Questran powder. I couldn't take it though. So I am still like I have been for years...if I have got to go, I have GOT to go.

    Confused!

Well, I haven't had the band, but I have heard a lot of bad stuff about it. I can tell you about my sleeve though. I was sleeved on 2/14/12 and weighed 335. Now, I never get hungry. I have to make myself eat. I can only hold about an ounce of solid food. I can drink liquids pretty normally now. I no longer like sweets. I am down 76# in 3 months. I normally lose between 3-5# a week. I don't know exactly what you need to know, but I would do it again. Yes, I have had a hard time and yes it is a huge adjustment, but I believe it has saved my life.

    Feeling Miserable

Awe girl, I had the spasms too. They are murder! They ease up as some of the rawness on the inside gets better. Just know that most of what is going on with you with the food issues is a mind thing. Your body isn't really hungry right now. It's more in shock. It will get some better when you can get something thicker in your mouth. But keep in mind, this is just a process. In a few weeks you will be able to eat anything you want and not have to worry about gorging on it. One bite and you will be finished.
  11. That's right girl, no matter what you have read or looked at, there is no way to completely prepare yourself for what you are going to go through. It is such a shock to the body! At least it eases up pretty quick; although when you are in the mist of it it feels like an eternity. Hang in there. Glad you are starting to feel better.

    Boobies

Yes, not having a tat on the girls is for sure a plus at this point. A rose would absolutely be loong stemmed and a horse would look like a bushy tailed giraffe..LOL. Sent from my iPad using VST
  13. I know I'm going to catch it for this, but truthfully I don't exercise.I have been laid up for a couple of years now because of various health issues. Last month I had knee surgery and I am still recovering from that. I do an hour of physical therapy 3x a week for that, but anything else is just consequential; playing with the kids, cleaning, shopping, loafing etc. I do hope to be able to soon though. I have a Wii and love the dancing games. I just can't dance on this knee right now.
  14. Hello everyone. I hit my 3 month surgiversary (5-14-12) this Monday. I was down 75# (including Pre-op) and as of this morning it is 76#. I am down from 335# to 259#. I am really excited that I have met several short term goals over the last few weeks. 1. I have made it to Twooterville 2. To weigh less than I did when I got married (275#) and as of this morning 3. To weigh less than my husband (260) Hoot! Hoot! My next short term is: 4. To weigh less than when I graduated high school (250#) I am also enjoying some NSVs. I am still off of all my pre-op meds (21), the fibromyalgia is doing great (small 2 day flare this week, 1st one since surgery) and I don't use the cane anymore and we walk a lot. I have bones sticking out every where; collar, wrist, ankle, shoulder, ribs, pelvis. It's great! My husband can wrap his arms all the way around my body and I can him too. Loving my new clothes (18/20) including a KNEE length skirt, form fitting shirts and tops and some heels. I can also CROSS MY LEGS! I haven't wore heels or crossed my legs in years. My hubby likes, but hey, he's liking a lot of things lately. I am really happy with the results I am seeing. I do still struggle on a daily basis though. Eating anything is still very difficult for me. I can hold about an ounce. I still get sick with every meal. My pre-op digestive issues did not improve as my doc had hoped. It can get very discouraging being so weak all of the time. I just keep holding out that my restriction will relax a little and let me get in some calories. Right now the weight loss is very exciting, but I do wonder if long term my body will ever be able to make it on such a tiny amount of sustenance. Anyhoo... Have a wonderful day everyone and HAPPY LOSING!! Check back in with y'all next month This photo is of me yeasterday at my kids school field day. I promised my friend's a pic of me at the blow up bounce house..hehe.
  15. If you got in a few mouthfuls of anything, I promise you that your sleeve is bigger than mine! I am 3 months out and can still only hold an ounce. That is two regular bites. If I take the 3rd one, it will come back out; either spit out or thrown up. I really think that they took too much of mine out. I believe it is about the size of my finger. I also never want to eat. I don't really like anything any more. I have already lost 76#. That is wild! I truly hope mine relaxes over time. It is every hard existing like this. I would still have it done though. I would just tell him, not so tight, if I could go back.

    Boobies

You can kiss those babies good-bye. I started in a 46G and now I am in a loose 40F (it was FULL 2 weeks ago). You may say, "Well that's only one cup size," but here's the thing. You actually go up a full cup size with every 2 inches of band (per a professional bra fitter/customized bra maker). So a 46G actually has the same size cups as a 40J. My gals look like flat pancakes now.

    Pain Meds

My doc said no NSAIDS; so that only leaves Tylenol. Yours may be different though.
  18. I am out 3 months and have already lost 73#. That is 50% of my excess body weight. Docs don't even tell by-pass pt. to expect that in less that 12 months. So I am happy with mine. I for sure wouldn't want anything more drastic! This is hard enough to learn to live with.
  19. I promise, you are going to have to come up with something really good if you are going to hide this from people you are staying with and eating 3 meals a day with. I went on vacation with my in-laws at 6 weeks out. They knew that I had had the surgery and were still alarmed at what a tiny amount I ate all week. I also had nausea and vomiting and had to lay down often due to weakness/dizziness. Our drive was a six hour trip and by the time we got there my legs and feet had swollen to double. If they had not of known what was going on with me, I know they would have insisted that I go to the hospital. They were getting worried even though they did. So just be prepared. None of us know how our recovery will be post surgery. If everything goes perfect, you might be able to hide it. If it doesn't, they are going to know you are hiding something. Don't be cruel and make them conjure up some terrible terminal illness that you may be dying of.

Do the exercises for tightening up the jaw and neck muscles. I do them. You can look some up online. Just be careful with them if you have TMJ.

    I mean........ seriously??

I have four little boys. Mine were upset when I started losing weight. My 9 year old said I had always been fat and he wanted me to stay that way. He liked me the way I was. I'm sure it was just his resistance to change though. I don't think they would feel like that in a few years, so I know how you feel. I never wanted them to be ashamed of me.
