2 red (or ordinary if you can't find any) onions sliced
Oil for frying. Peanut oil is the most low-carb option.
100g Feta cheese, crumbled.
12 eggs.< /p>
tsp of fresh thyme leaves
120ml double cream
120ml Water
- Preheat the oven to 190 deg C - gas mark 5 ans oil a 12- cup muffin tray
- Fry the onion in a little oil until soft, and divide the onion, cheese and thryme evenly between the muffin cups.
- Whisk together the eggs, cream and water and pour eveny nto cups, over the cheese and onion mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes on the top shelf until golden.Allow to cool slightly before removing from the tray.
These are from "Neris and India's Idiot-proof diet cookbook" and I've cooked them many times. They don't last long! You can add smoked salmon, substitute different cheeses, add meats like pieces of good sausage meat (with no carby filler) etc. They are great to stick in a lunchbox.

It makes sense' date=' I mean all our organs were probably more squished together. Why not that one?She said it would be almost unnoticeable and just be more comfortable. I wouldn't mind some more space down there. It is a little uncomfy for me know sometimes because I feel too snug.[/quote']
Me too! Snug can be a problem ....
I love this thread. Belly (or should I say FUPA?) laugh city.

Yesterday was my big day. Hope everyone else who were on the same day are doing well. Surgery went smooth for me. Dr. said my liver was nice and small from preop liquid diet (lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks). Came out of anesthesia and wasn't in any real pain' date=' but my throat was soooooo sore and dry and they couldn't give me anything to drink because I kept dozing off. Oncefully awake the ice chips tasted like Heaven. Not a lot of pain anywhere thanks to the pan pump, but I could not shake the nausea so they kept Me another night ( was supposed to go home the am following surgery). Finally found the combination of meds for the nausea and today am pretty darn comfortable. No trouble drinking fluids, getting up and down, walking around etc. The intense nausea from day one was pretty terrible... not gonna lie... It really Sucked! Not having much gas pain either. Husbnd brought the kids to visit today and was feeling pretty normal. Hope everyone else who had surgery yesterday and today is feeling good. Finally on to excited now that I've passed through frightened. Have had chicken broth, sf hello, sf juices and sf Popsicles and am not physically hungry. Luck and love to all you July Sleevers.

These people clearly didn't come to the Middle East as part of their fact finding. (I can hardly blame them... Souq explosives are hell on fat & skinny alike) 56% of the adults in this region are 'morbidly obese' date='' diabetes and its complications is the number one health problem, and 1 in 3 children are significantly overweight and underactive. I don't know what the average weight is here, but it's got to be at least 180... Sad, really.
Mind you, I've been to Houston... maybe it's a tie.. [/quote']
I live in the Middle East too, and I agree the obesity epidemic here is unbelievable. The predominance of chocolates and sweets in every supermarket or street is also amazing. They say expats usually put on a stone when they move here and I fell into that category.

Hi everyone! Sorry it has taken me so long to do a post-op update. I got home Friday evening, went straight to bed. Saturday slept all day, then Sunday had an unexpected mini-family reunion at my new apartment. I am doing great! So blessed that God took care of me during this and is continuing to bless my healing process. I pray that all the July sleevers are also doing great and will be praying for those who are about to start this journey! Thank YOU all for your prayers and well wishes!
If you want to read about my experience with Dr. Almanza, here's my post - and I will be happy to answer any questions for you!

I agree with JLewis, especially for gay men. They are even more superficial (often) than straight men! I have a dear friend who is now in his 40's and he is literally obsessed with his waist size. He's been 27" to 30" waist for the 17 years I've known him and he is absolutely near panic when his waist gets "big", or 30". I'd KILL to have a 30" waist, even though I know it will never happen!
I totally agree Lissa, I think Jonathan is right. I have heaps of male gay friends and the pressure to have "The body beautiful" in a lot of areas of the gay community is HUGE. Everyone wants to look like a Herb Ritts photograph, and the amount of money my friends spend on grooming alone is astronomical. I think the aesthetic visual 'norms' applied regarding beauty are way more stringent than in the straight community. I feel for you Jonathan!

Laura and Victoria, I am excited for you! The first day won't be the best day but grin and bear it, and every day gets better super-fast after that. I will be thinking of everyone sleeved today and sending healing thoughts out into the ether.Best of luck! xox

I am on full liquids and yesterday i dreamed up a Tzatziki-inspired yogurt drink (I'm sick of the sweet stuff).
I added a scoop of unflavoured Protein powder to a small pot of Fage 0%, a few mint leaves, a chunk of de-skinned cucumber, a tespoon of garlic paste, squeeze of lemon and a little bit of Water to thin it out. It was 30g of Protein and SO good. The flavours completely masked the Protein Powder taste and so it went down a treat- my new go-to drink!
Fage is also great with a little splenda sweetener, and vanilla essence.

It is really interesting to me how different the recommendations are from different people. Thanks!

A very firm tummy pillow to press against the tum whilst getting up and down just saved me, earplugs, eye mask, wet wipes.

Smoggy, I've lived in several foreign countries and know what a lassi is, I also know that cooks helper is not something common in the US. I have a feeling you are going to have to explain your concoction a bit more.
FYI it sounds wonderful to me though.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Folks, a lassi is a pureed yoghurt-based drink comon in India, it can be sweetened with fruit or salted and spiced and herbs added. It is often used as a palate refresher with spicy curries.
Tzatziki is a Greek salad made with chopped or grated cucumber, mint, Greek yoghurt and sometimes lemon. You could use lemon here too but I love lime.
Cooks helper garlic is a product that is basically liquefied garlic (with a bit of sunflower oil) and a smooth garlic paste is a good replacement.
Anyway I kind of mixed the Greek and Indian components together to get a savoury garlicky minty cucumbery drink. It is pretty darn YUM.

I am finding all the sweet shakes a bit much on full liquids so I made a tzatziki inspired lassi shake which is pretty good and has 30g Protein. This is going down MUCH easier...
1 small tub of Fage 0% yogurt (10g protein)
1 scoop GNC whey unflavoured Protein powder (20g protein)
A teaspoon of Lea and Perrins cook's helper add-in garlic paste
Mint leaves
Quarter of a cucumber- deskinned.
Thin slightly with Water.< /p>
A squeeze of lime.
Salt to taste.
Puree in blender.

Thanks....make that 24 pounds...wo0t.

When Can I Take Vitamin Tablets?
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posted
I am two weeks post-op tomorrow. The next time I will see my surgeon will be three months out. (They are not big on post-op anything here LOL)
They gave me an all- B-vits shot last Thursday when I went to take my stitches out and when I asked about taking Vitamins, the nurse said , "Oh you shouldn't need to!"
Now I am sure this is a heap of bunk, and I suffer from cramp which can be exacerbated by low Vitamin D and potassium. I would like to take some multivits and a D supplement but not sure how well it will go down seeing as I'm still on full liquids.I take a PPI capsule (Lanzor)every day that goes down fine, and liquid vitamins are not available here- any ideas when I'll be able to swallow a Multivitamin?
