Am I Going To Lose Friends Over My Lapband?

I was banded December 7, 2011 and I'm already 27 lbs down! You will most definitely lose some people that you may have considered friends! Truth is they were never your REAL friends if they can't support you in this life changing decision. Some may be jealous and some may just be humoring you to make this an easier transition for you! The reality is you made this decision for YOU and not for your friends and family, and although its great to have their support YOU are your number 1 fan! (run on sentence) Lol. The bottom line is your life is about to change and it will change for the better! Congrats to you!!!!

Getting Banded Dec. 22nd!!! Have ALOT of Pre-Surgery Questions!!!

Ok ladies first I want to say congrats on your decision to become healthier individuals. To answer your 2nd and 3rd questions, the faster you lose the weight the more skin you will have hanging! 2-3 lbs a week is a good amount to work towards. When working out weights definitely helps with keeping you toned. Also age plays a huge role in the elasticity of your skin. I hope this helped a little.

Lap Band Surgery Day 3, Talk Me Down!

Wow, I have been reading a lot of post where you guys are saying you have to wait tohave somt of the same foods I was given in the hospital! I was only on a liquid diet for 24-48 hours after the surgery, From 2 days to 2 weeks I was told I can have skim milk, broth, sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, cream of wheat, scrambled eggs, sugar free applesauce, cottage cheese and pureed soup! I have been doing fine with these foods, although I am only able to get small portions down (like 2-3 tbsp) its better than only liquid!
  5. I will be banded this Wednesday, I am excited and nervous all at the sime time!

Day 1 Of Pre-op Liquid Diet

Good luck hun, my surgery is 12/7 and I am still on my pre-op diet. I was told I cannot have fruits because they contain sugars, I can have certain vegetables except my favorite CORN! Lol but I can have lean steak, chicken, pork, and turkey. I have some great recipes that has gotten me through this diet i.e chicken meatballs will spinach florentine marinara and fat free cheese melted on top and a side of broccolli. Although its hard you can do it!
