About Me

Ok gonna try this one more time and hope that it saves. I've been over weight since I had to quit dance at the age of 10. The motto at our house was "clean your plate" and since I live in Texas where every meal is "Texas Sized", I ate alot of food! And unfortunately I carried that motto with me into adulthood. I managed to stay below the 200Lb mark until I had my babies. Kyle was born in 1999 and Gracie followed in 2001. I got married in 1997 and had to learn a new motto..."Eat Fast", if my husband finished his meal before I did, he'd start in on my food even if I wasn't done! Our eating quickly spiraled out of control, mexican food was my weakness and triple decker peanut butter and jellies were his. In 2007 his weight reached an alaming number 495Lbs and mine wasn't great either (235Lbs) but his was life threatening. So with a little encouraging from family and friends we convinced my husband to have lap band. January 2008 he had surgery and within a year and half had dropped 200Lbs. While he slimmed up, I still struggled. My Mom followed his journey and had her band at the end of 2009 and then his mother had hers in 2010. In September of this year I decided it was my turn, I had reached 250 and knew I needed help. Within 3 days of deciding I was sitting at True Results Houston. I met with Beatrice (my consultant and new friend), saw the nutritionist and was on my way. Since then I have had a weigh in in October and an appointment with a psychiatrist. My third appointment is at the end of November, I will weigh in, meet with the nutritionist, have an EKG, do a breathing test and have blood work done. My understanding is, is at this appointment they will submit my insurance paperwork. I am praying it is approved! They said I could have surgery before Christmas!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS to me!!!! I am so excited to begin this journey and start a new chapter, living healthy.....and lets not forget being skinny!!
